Ray Kroc is one of America’s many heroes. His background is very interesting, his accomplishments are influential, and his Legacy is very meaningful in America’s Society. Ray Kroc was an interesting person. Kroc loved adventure, and he formed a lifestyle out of it. Kroc never graduated high school. According to the Reader’s Companion to American history, “Ray Kroc never finished high school.” Instead, he became a volunteer ambulance driver in World War 1, A musician, and a sales manager for Lily Tulip. Also, Kroc sold a milkshake mixing machine. According to the birth of fast food, Kroc flew from southern California to see a why restaurant needed eight of his milkshake mixing machines. Ray mixed his intelligence with luck and created one of the most successful franchises ever made. Kroc started taking control of the McDonald’s Corporation. By 1961, Kroc bought out the McDonald’s Franchise from the McDonald brothers. The McDonald’s Corp that was established by Kroc bought out all of McDonald’s from the brothers. Later on, the brothers regretted making this decision. Kroc became more involved in the McDonald’s Franchise. In 1977, Ray assumed the title of Senior Chairman. This proves how much of an asset he was to McDonald’s. McDonald’s started to become hugely successful. By 1987, McDonald’s had sold 65 billion hamburgers. By 1988, they opened their 10,000th store. As you can see, Ray Kroc developed McDonald’s into the enormous company we see today. Kroc has shown us, has time and time again, his abilities to lead a business. Ray Kroc’s legacy will be forever known through McDonald’s.
Ray left us with a restaurant that has changed the way Americans look at food, and created the McDonald’s we know today. McDonald’s is now considered a “fast-food giant.” With 35,000 restaurants, McDonald’s has the second most locations out of any fast-food chain in the world. This shows that McDonald’s is one of the most popular fast-food chains, and that it is very successful. Also, McDonalds is located in many different countries across the globe. According to “The Birth of Fast Food,” McDonald’s has locations in 119 different countries. This shows how high of a demand people have for McDonald’s food, and how affordable it is among many different countries. Lastly, McDonald’s is known for their high traffic of customers that visit their restaurants. On average, 70 million people eat at McDonald’s in one day. This statistic shows how McDonald’s has been a hot spot for so many people over the
years. Ray’s history, accomplishments, and legacy are all critical aspects of his life. Ray Kroc lived a lifestyle we can all live up to. His leadership skills, hard work, and dedication are traits all Americans should possess. Also, Ray Kroc changed the whole way America looks at food, and created a cheaper alternative that still has great tasting food. Ray Kroc left us with his legacy. He created millions of jobs across the United States, and created the Ronald McDonald house which helps sick children’s families when they need it the most. McDonald’s Corporation started out in the way that many businesses do, with one idea and a brilliant mind or two. The year was 1948, when two brothers by the names of Mac and Dick McDonald, set forth with the idea to provide a low cost, quickly produced meal. Thus, the restaurant we know today was born. At the time, Ray Kroc was selling multi-mixer machines for milkshakes and McDonald’s had already purchased eight of his machines.
