What is Puberty?
Puberty is the time in one’s life in which there body prepares for their adult years. They change physically and emotionally. Google describes puberty as “the period during which adolescents reach sexual maturity and become capable of reproduction”.
Puberty is a normal part of growing up and usually happens between the ages of 10 and 14 for girls and 12 and 16 for boys.

A girl’s first period is usually between the ages of 12 and 15 years old. However, periods can start as young as 8 years old and this is still normal. The normal length between the first day of one period and the first day of the next is 21 to 45 days for young women and 21 to 31 days for adults (28 days on average). Bleeding usually lasts 2 to 7 days. Menstruation stops occurring after menopause (the ceasing of menstruation), which usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age.
