Life isn’t like the movies, life is hard, each day, we change, we grow, we go through good times, we go through bad times everything we do in our lives, whether it be good or bad defines us. It makes us who we are, to the individuals we grow to become. There have been times in my life that have been amazing, but there has been struggle, it’s been a long road. I’ve had many up’s and down in my education and in my personal life. All these endeavors and challenges have made me work harder, know my worth, plan my dreams, set my goals and what I need to inspire to accomplish to make these dreams a reality, to the path and to the decisions that made me who I am today to what I want for my future.
Growing up I received every opportunity that any

I took a few years to get myself healthy and learned how to control my RA and how to balance a life living with RA, during this time I had taken a job with Victoria Secret. Pretty quickly after starting, the managers saw my love and passion for Fashion, they saw how much I loved Visual Merchandising. I worked for 5 years at Victoria Secret, I was opened to so many doors, I was taught so much about the world of Fashion and Beauty. My last year at Victoria Secret I met a buyer that worked for Victoria Secret, he soon saw my passion and hard work. One day he told me his story and he told me he thought I’d be an amazing buyer or Visual Merchandiser. He told me if I wanted to grow in this field, he encouraged me to finish my education, even calling continuously for some time. At this time I had made the decision to go study cosmetology and make up at The Paul Mitchell School of Austin. I decided to take this chance of going cosmetology school for make up and special
Growing up, life wasn't easy. As a result of these adversities, I've been able to not only see, but personally experience, having a constant battle in my life. Throughout this journey of life, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people and learn about different backgrounds and hardships many others suffer from. These experiences,
These last four years have been rough on me but luckily there have been some lessons learned through it. I have just looked forward and moved on to greater things in life. I leave behind the bad and move on to the good. A good quote to describe my adventure through high school is when Jeannette is talking to her mother. The mother says, “ Things usually work out in the end,” to where Jeannette replies, “What if they don’t?” The mother answers with, “That just means you haven’t come to the end yet.” The quote describes my struggles in life and also brings hope for a happier
Some of the most influential things in my life have changed me so much and shaped me into the person I am today. If it wasn’t for my friends and family I wouldn't have nearly the amount of musical knowledge that I have now and I’m so grateful that I can be somewhat well versed in a topic that I am so passionate about. And when I get into the topic of my friends and family I always have the feeling that I am extremely lucky to have so many great people that care so much about me in my life, I always have someone to lean on when I’m going through a hard time, and I always feel like they support me in my choices to be in the BHS Drama Program. The BHS Drama program is something that I look forward to every day after school and honestly it gives me the motivation I need to go to school and get my work done. There are so many other things that I’m grateful for but if were not for these things than I would be a completely different person than I am now. I’ve made so many memories and shared so many experience with just these things alone, they take up almost all of my
I close this essay with a message to anyone who may be reading this or even have the same troubles as me. Life will always throw challenges in your way, you will be lost at times and even scared to death. But in the end you will prevail. “Each day of life is a gift, that is why it is called the present”
The future is a something mysterious, and as L. M. Montgomery says in Anne of Green Gables “Isn 't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it 's such an interesting world. It wouldn 't be half so interesting if we know all about everything, would it? There 'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?” As she alludes, we cannot know the future, but we can imagine what it may be by looking at the past. For history tends to repeat itself.
There were even times in my life I wished it would end but now I’ve lived it out I know it was well worth it. Since adolescence, my life has had great impact on myself and those around me. Back in the day when I was sixteen I left school with great grades all thanks to the revision chip I invented. After leaving school, I went on to graduate at the top of my classes.
Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt like everything was just dumped on you? I did, and undoubtedly it happened just as I came to school at State University. That saying, “When it rains, it pours,” just seemed to fit me perfectly. Within a two week period one of my friends from high school committed suicide, my grandma went in the hospital, and my boyfriend broke up with me. Yet, from these experiences in my life, I grew, more than I have ever grown before. This is why I am writing about it. Although, everyone goes through hard times, there were not many people out there who related to me. That is why it was hard to get help when it was needed. Maybe someone can learn from my experience and be just as strong as I was.
The main preparation for my intended major is nearly complete. Since selecting Electrical Engineering as my intended major, I've been enrolling into all prerequisite courses all the while not only making sure that I complete these courses with satisfactory marks, but to never fail to pass a class. During the completion of these courses, I was enrolled as a full-time student. This status has prepared me for any rigorous schedule and material that will come my way once I transfer to a university. What I coin, "secondary preparation", are all other factors that come into helping one succeed in their intended major that don't simply fall under prerequisites.
I became confident, failing was no longer an option. I am now able to focus in what I want to do in the next 4 years and I’ll be prepared to take on those challenges that await for me. Influences of the “ghetto” did not affect me because I thrive for more, I want to prove that being raised in a city like Lynwood doesn’t mean we should be expected to fail, but to aspire and dream the possible and impossible .I will be a Latina who defied all odds, graduated high school and will be taking steps towards a better
Now that we have explored my past, present, and future experiences with diversity, it is time to see how they are present within and effect each other. Firstly, let’s look into how my future is present in my past. The most obvious portion of my future that is in my past is my willingness and efforts to love and include everyone and to spread this world view. It took a fellow classmate of mine to demonstrate to my third grade self that we are all human beings and we all deserve to be treated as such. In my future, I aspire to demonstrate this world view to my students and inspire them to treat each other accordingly. This aspiration directly reflects my world view struggles I went through in third grade, for I want to help my students come to
I believe that we have several responsibilities towards future generations, including sustainable energy sources, managed resources, conservation, and to impart knowledge of environmental sustainability in a widespread way. I believe that must fulfill these obligations for the continuation of the human species survival in the future.
Design, first and foremost, is concerned with solving problems, but from where we currently stand we have created more problems than we have solved. Sustainable product design is focusing on creating products with the least possible negative impacts on the environment, featuring eco-sound materials, energy efficiency, and easy recycling.
My life is a mixture of moments, some happy moments and others not so much, but regardless, these moments have made me the person that I am today and I don’t regret anything that had happen. I consider myself a strong, and a very determined person, I have dreams to fill the world and I am willing to do the necessary efforts to attain those dreams. My motivations I inherit from my family, more specifically my father that I love so much; I have always
To remain competitive and employable in the twenty-first century workplace, society today must conform to the changing demands. Technology is one of the principal driving forces of the future; it is transforming our lives and shaping our future at rates unprecedented in history, with profound implications, which we cannot even begin to see or understand.
I have been through so many things in my life and I have made many bad decisions. The best thing with making wrong decisions are learning from them. One of the worst decisions in my life was dropping out of college when I was younger. One day I’m hoping to show people no matter how old your are or what your have been through, you can still go back to school and help people but it first starts with yourself. Deciding to go back to school was hard, but I wanted to make a difference in someone’s life.
