As of this moment, everyone my age is either not in college with or without a job, or they are in college trying to work their way up the success bar. Now I do not judge anyone for what kind of life style they want to choose, but I am definitely one of those people that pretty much has their whole life planned out. From what college I go to and what I major in, to what dream job I will one day have ten, maybe even five to six years from now. Success is my middle name and I plan to own it. In present day, I am at a four-year university and I am majoring in Nursing. I work a part time job on the weekends; I am a carhop at Sonic and it is only the weekends because my job is an hour away but it pays good and my boss is very flexible. My job is …show more content…
Ever since I was twelve I knew I wanted to be in the Air Force for something but I never knew what that something was. I always downed myself saying I wasn’t good at anything so I never knew what job I wanted. I always figured I would just go into computers like my step father but that all changed my senior year of high school. For one of my classes I got to take on a job on base to see what it like to work there. I picked the hospital because I was curious how things worked over there and I was never interested in it but wanted to know more. That is when my entire life changed, this is what I would call the climax of the story because this is my turning …show more content…
I spent the whole year volunteering there like I was one of the doctor’s technicians; they did not just put me in one spot neither. Throughout my senior year I had worked in family health, pediatrics, neurology, the E.R., immunizations, and OB/GYN. Out of all of the places they put me to watch, learn and work I had fallen in love with gynecology. It is just something about helping pregnant women see their babies and helping women get on birth control I like. I found it fascinating to check women’s cervixes for cancer and give women procedures if they had a cyst on their ovary. It was amazing to help women in need and I did not even know that I could fall in love with something in the medical field. This job is also fun because it was a mystery of who would walk in next with their issue and to find out what it was, was so amazing. One time a woman walked in to see the doctor, I was spectating at this point, she said that her breast where bothering her and that they were kind of itchy, then she showed us. I thought to myself, oh that yeast, she has a yeast infection on her boobs and she needs to get it treated because its passing from her baby and back to her because she is breastfeeding. Then the doctor said out loud exactly what I was thinking! That was one of the best moments of my life; gynecology is so
I have always been fascinated with the medical field ever since I was little, my first choice for electives were always health science and anatomy classes. After my cousin, Deanna, had her first child and receive her first ultrasound, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. The ultrasound technician had made her feel so comforted and just made the entire experience enjoyable for everyone; I’m eager to be able to start my life with a job that I know I will love. Anytime that I meet someone who is in the field themselves, I always ask questions and listen to what they do throughout the day to get some real insight on what being a technician really entails.
Oddly enough, I liked giving obese, old patients bed baths, helping them to the bathroom, and cleaning their bed pans. But, don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t exactly what I loved doing, but I knew it was part of the job, and I willingly did the dirty work. By the end of my junior year, I knew I loved the hospital environment and wanted to eventually work there; however, I just didn’t know in what capacity. Fortunately, during a slow day in my last semester of shadowing, a nurse asked me if I would like to see a surgery being performed. I quickly accepted the offer, and I got to watch a surgeon perform an eye lift procedure. This experience, one of the most interesting I had ever witnessed, made me realize the area of the hospital that interested me most, the operating room. More specifically, I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon. The path to become an orthopedic surgeon is not a quick nor easy one. To become an orthopedic surgeon, one must first be accepted into medical school, graduate medical school, and then complete post medical school requirements such as residency and

Now I’m not so sure. As a college student facing graduation in a year, I’ve lost my faith in the accessibility of the American Dream. Thus far, I have been fortunate to surpass a large percentage of my peers from high school in my preparation for future success. I’m not still living at home. I did not get married at 18. In fact, I worked extremely hard in school and even harder in athletics so I could get a full-scholarship to a prestigious university and a graduate debt-free. Though even with my over-priced and elite preparation, I still don’t feel secure in my future. Like many of my classmates, I have a nagging feeling I will never equal, must less exceed, my parent’s accomplishments or financial success. Frankly, I’m terrified to graduate.
I originally was interested in being a surgeon, later after exploring the medical field I found that and obstetrician-gynecologist would help myself along with others. I could help others who have problems or struggle and if I ever have a problem I know what I am doing about so I can help myself too. An obstetrician-gynecologist is a part of the medical field that’s all about the female body from puberty all throughout adulthood.

I have been in the Navy for about three years now, before I was in the navy I worked at a community center as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I worked full time and went to high school, my motivation for getting my degree is I want to get my degree in business management so one day I can own my own bakery. I came to the goal of owning my own shop from being in the military actually, my I love baking and I love to decorate sweets as well. My younger brother also wants to own his own bakery so even if I don't ever open my own shop I would love to be able to help him on the business side of his shop. I' am passionate about a lot if things, mostly I am a dedicated swimmer and baker, I love to challenge myself and those around me. I am very dedicated to my schooling and when I put my mind to it I
I was both excited and scared on my first day. I was curious about everything that I could see, smell and hear. I was excited because everything was new to me. The office was very quiet, all the physicians were concentrate on their work. Everything in the office was organized very well. The equipments were gleaming as they attracted me to touch. The smell of the ink was still dimly in the air. I got a little scared when I stepped into the hallway. It was really crowded, people seem very busy no matter if they were patients or physicians. People were everywhere. It was really easy to pump into someone. Rapid footsteps made flap sounds on the marble floor. The smell of the hospital special antiseptic solutions was very pungent. The call bells in the wards were very sharp, and they were coupled with the red lights in front of the wards and white walls. I had never felt more nervous before. I felt dazed because I had no idea what I could do, but this was piqued my fighting will more. Overall, I like this place. The department where I worked in was called the comprehensive internal medicine ward, and it also included a rheumatology clinic. Though I had volunteered in hospital for a very long time in school, I’ve never got a chance to get in the real business as a volunteer. So I was eager to learn everything. My instructor was a really person. He was near my father’s age, so he took care of me like his daughter....
Selecting a career is the most important decision in a person’s life. The Health care industry has a good future in the United States of America. According to the American Department of Labor, the Medical assistant is one of the fastest growing health care professions. I have always been inclined towards health care and therefore I decided to be a medical assistant. To become a medical assistant one should possess different qualities. But the most important quality is to be a very responsible person.
Many years ago I had a job keypunching orders for a commodity brokerage firm. It was my first real job paying good money. It was a way of getting started. It definitely did not feed my soul. It did however; increase the speed at which I key numbers. From there I moved into a career as a compliance associate. My career as a Compliance Associate gives me mobility and allows me to be promoted and receive raises. It is what I excel and study for over the years. My calling however is something better. It is what I feed off of. Styling is what I constantly think about day in day out.
Most people imagine their dream job is to become a famous actor or a job they have seen done many times. Though because of the progression of technology I would be more suited in a field involving computers. My dream job is to become a successful software engineer because I have always been into computer systems, but can I fit this job, is the career life something I can manage and what opportunities should I go after when becoming a software engineer. Each time I notice how a program is used I wonder how can I make it become faster or more efficient. When you are using your cell phone or iPad there is usually an update at every month. This is because apple is improving the speed of your applications. A software engineer is sometimes overlooked, but without software engineer’s applications would either crash or would not improve. Although most people may feel looking at a computer all day and trying to fix it is uninteresting, I find it challenging
1. I grew up in a family where work was an important aspect, but both of my parents did not always work. My father had many medical issues and was unable to walk for many years. Financial stability was always looked at as the ideal. I was taught working is just a part of life and you should do it to survive. Both of my parents did not attend college, but encouraged me to go to college. They were not happy when I wanted to also go to graduate school because they did not see the point of doing so. I was fortunate to have their help and support in my undergraduate degree because this allowed me to not have to work too much. I did have a lot of volunteer positions and ultimately got what I would call a real job in 2014 doing counseling like services in the community. I always knew I wanted to help people and I enjoyed doing this job, but decided to go back to school for my Master’s so I could ultimately open my own private practice.
My dream career is to be a detective. My reason for studying or wanting to be in this career is because I want to help people find what they are looking for. I want to be able to make people smile and be happy. Another reason for me researching this career is because I think it’s a something I would enjoy doing. It’s a job I would want to wake up every morning to do. Yes there are going to be those days were I do not want to wake up and do my job but that’s part of life you have to do thing sometimes you don’t want to do such as wake up to go to school early. I have chosen this career because I like to work with people. In this career you get to work with many different people in your career field. In my career field as a detective I get to work with many people, such as the police officers, S.W.A.T team and at times the C.I.A.
Regardless of age or major, every single successful person I have met throughout my life had the urge to direct their own lives. They were willing to accept primary responsibility for their own expectations and outcomes. Thus, they held themselves accountable and truly believed that their plans will turn out the way they want them to most of the time if they did the things that are necessary to make them become a reality. Instead of just saying what...
Life contains an unlimited amount of life lessons; my main life lesson has inspired me to never give up on myself or my goals. Through my life experiences I have learned that there is no such thing as failure. I am certain with myself that I can find success through hard work and dedication. My career aspiration is to help others as a healthcare professional. More specifically, I have a dream of pursuing a career in physical therapy. Nothing gives me more self-satisfaction than to see that I am able to help people self-improve. Therefore, I have committed to studying and preparing myself for graduate school. I am currently an Undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, destined to graduate in the Fall of 2017. There are multiple Undergraduate degree paths I can take to prepare myself for grad-school; however, I chose a path that can help me develop skills to provide the best possible service for my future patients. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences
