For as long as I can remember, there has always been a common stereotype that if you're a female then you must love to shop, but even so I am an exception to this rule. I particularly dislike the experience of shopping at the mall. One mall I stay clear of is Fashion Valley, especially on the weekends. Just pulling into the parking lot from the overcrowded main street is a total nightmare, there just seems to be cars and people everywhere. Then you spend so much time circling the parking lot to find a good spot to park, even with the option of parking far away, it still seems hard to find a parking spot. Not to mention that once you find parking it’s like a can of sardines all crammed into one area, making it hard to even open your car
Whenever we go out shopping or relaxing at malls, we actually don’t see or recognize any effects of malls as we mostly go there for these two reasons. Malls are an integral part in the lives of America. They are shopping centers that have created a lot of buzz in many writers. This is because we have more malls in America than high schools. Malls have received praises from people like James J. Farrell, Jon Pahl and George Lewis who view malls as not only shopping centers but also as places that provide a reflection of the American culture and serve as centers of pleasure and entertainment. In contrast, William Kowinski and David Gutterson criticize malls for just being an artificial environment that creates disorientation among American shoppers. In my opinion, malls are just magnificent commercial buildings that create a sense of false dreams and imagination.
Now these stores you won’t find at a mall and only downtown has them. I love exploring each and every one of the stores. On one store they may be selling colorful figurines and a collection of vivid detail blankets and the store next to it may be selling clothes or electronics from blenders to HD televisions. When you walk into a discount store such as Ross, you will notice rows and rows of clothing racks. If you look down you will see tile floors. Ross has several different sections. They have a men’s, sports ware, women’s, juniors, children’s, under garments, electronics, luggage, kitchen accessories, shoes, accessories, bed and bath, and seasonal. These sections are all scattered through out the store. When you walk into a section, you will notice the aisles are very close not allowing carts east access between them. If you are looking for a specific item be prepared to search for it. Since all their clothing is on rows of racks all the different types of brands and styles are all together, not allows a quick walk in grab what you want and leave type of deal. All of Ross’s registers are in the front of the store. So if you in the back of the store and ready to check out you must first walk to the front of the store. If you want to try something on before you purchase it you must walk to the back of the store where the fitting room and bathrooms are.
