Frodo Baggins is born and raised up in an ordinary Hobbit family in the Shire. He has a happy childhood under the care and love of Bilbo and his friends. In a conventional case, a hero always has great talents; whereas, Frodo is not a stereotypical hero. Frodo is as a minor in a huge world, he is not that talented compared to the other characters and he comes from a secluded race: The Hobbits. Hobbits are “ignored by the world of the Big Folk”for centuries, and it is inconceivable to imagine that one of them eventually carries the Ring that has the power to rule the world. The presence of the Ring changes Frodo’s fate from ordinary to extraordinary. Frodo’s uncle, Bilbo Baggins, leaves him without a proper farewell after his birthday. After one of the Nazguls stabs Frodo in his shoulder with a Morgul Knife, Frodo starts to become ill. Worse still, Glorfindel, one of the High Elves, and Aragorn can not heal Frodo’s wound. This moment keeps the audience in suspense and leaving them anticipating for the healing of Frodo’s wound. Fortunately, Glorfindel defies the Nine Nazgals and brings Frodo inside Rivendell. Elrond, the King of Rivendell heals Frodo and removes the fragment inside his shoulder. The audience sigh with relief when the fragment in Frodo’s shoulder is removed. Moreover, the reuniting of the Hobbits in Rivendell makes the audience cheers louder for Frodo, because the audience experiences real happiness after suffers in suspense.
