What does patient mean? Patient means that you are understanding and tolerant of others. Having patience is a major asset that I think everyone should have in life. Sometimes in our lives especially mine, we have had times where having patience is not the easiest thing. Sometimes we react in the opposite way and it turns bad but, having patience can resolve all of the problems. As asked above, I know a story about someone who has had the most enormous amount of patience.
To begin, the person that I am going to write about is my mom, who has an abundance of patience. First of all, I am a eighteen year old girl, living in Worland Wyoming and may be a little boy crazy. Also, I am involved in almost every sport I can participate in which makes me very competitive and fit. Being very involved in school and sports makes me be a very social person and I love to hangout with my friends, and stay busy all the time. As you can see I am a very active person and being this way, one might say that it can drive some one nuts. This person being my mother. She is always there for me no matter what I do. She supports me in everything that I do whether I suck at it or am really good. Even though we may fight and argue she always has the

My mother and I have our ups and downs and completely drive each other nuts sometimes. And there was this one time we went at each other a little too much. It was last summer and I was going into my senior year. Not only was I going through a breakup with my ex-boyfriend who I had been dating for a year and a half but, my dad had relapsed with his addiction and that piled on stress. While going through all this I was talking to one of the biggest man whores in Worland Wyoming and decided that he would be the one person that I would talk to, he was there because I was trying to get over my ex. Speaking of this man whore he happened to be the boy that my mother despised the
...e the money to pay for my lesson and attire, so they pulled me out of the activity. I was angry at her for that and assumed she didn’t understand how it felt to have something that you love be taken away from you, when in fact she knew all to well. I found out so much about my mother and came to accept that even though she did not do all the right things with raising me, or the things I thought she should have done she did her best and I grew up to be a very respectful, intelligent young lady.
For a person like me majoring in Computer Science, this talk highlighted the importance of presenting ideas to the world. Chris in his professional world is certainly a genius roboticist, but in this talk, he has to approach a wider audience, to show the product of his effort to the world. So, he used different rhetorically effective approaches like metaphors, contrasts to illustrate how self-driving can make commutes safe, and be usable for a versatile group of people. Moreover, people like me majoring in technical field do not take subjects like English seriously, as they won’t directly get involved in the fields of English in the future. But, what I have learnt from this talk is that, English as a subject if taken seriously can change the
My mother and older sister (Lili) had gotten in a fight about chores my mother had sprung up on Lili and expected her to finish before school. Lili, instead of taking a moment to breathe and
Growing up, I observed my mother, who is a Type A personality, do everything! My mom is the ultimate multitasker; however, the downside to her efficient personality is burnout. She could never say no to anyone, often taking on more than she can handle. As a volunteer, she served as a Girl Scout leader, coordinated fundraisers for the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) swim team, frequently served at our church, as well as various other activities. My mom was also busy running her own business while maintaining several side jobs. Furthermore, she frequently transported my siblings back and forth to several sports in which they were
Even before my first tear hits the ground, my mother is there to wipe it away. My mother feels my pain before I can even realize it. She understands my needs before I can even think of them. That’s why we call her a mother. My mother has been an extraordinary influence on my life and always will be. She’s the kind of mom who would always take time out and care for her four children and the mom who would never let her hardships in her life distress her kids. My mother has always been a very strong role model to me, and growing up with someone like her to look up to has changed my life in many ways. She has helped me grow physically, intellectually, and considerately. She taught me to always love, care, and give back to the people I am grateful for.
The issue focused on this essay is having patience in a work place. This topic is important because the phrase "Patience is a virtue" is something soldiers like myself will need to develop in order to become an efficient, competent, and successful leader. While researching I found this article that list five useful practice of patiences and how it can be beneficial for leaders in order to accomplish Army missions. Although I have yet to fulfill the spot of being in charge of others, this article is still knowledge that'll be useful to me.
When my father blew up at my mother we were all expecting him to. The argument of "I want steak" and "I was working all day" was common in our family. I immediately took my mother's side like I usually did because no one in our family appreciates or respects what she does. My father would later grow to regret what he said and apologize. Tonight was different though. My mother usually took my father's comments in stride knowing he really does not mean what he says. But, this time they both exploded at each other and my mother ended up running out of the kitchen upset, retiring to her room.
I, first of all, am not that picky when it comes to a spouse, as long as I am attracted to them as they are to me. I would want my significant other to have good cleaning abilities. I would want her to have that, because I’m not very tidy, but maybe in a couple years I will be able to start being a little bit cleaner. She would also be willing to withstand long car rides or plane trips, mostly because I enjoy traveling. Last, but certainly not least, she would have to be patient. The sole reason for why she would have to be patient, is because I plan on having a kid or two of my own. Then again, she would have to be willing to have the child.
For the first few months, it wasn’t obvious to those around her that she had developed this addiction. When it finally became obvious to my father, he confronted her with treatment options that she continually refused. He turned to alcohol to escape the stresses of living with an addict. By this time I was three and my mother had turned to harder drugs. Life went on with my parents continuing to struggle with their addiction. The stress that this put on both of them slowly turned them both into abusive people. They began abusing each other, which eventually escalated to every night when my father came home from the bar and they would scream, throw dishes, and even hit each other. Just once, I decided that if I came downstairs and asked them to stop they just might realize how much listening to them fighting damaged my life, but instead of being understanding, my mother picked me up by my hair and threw me into our large living room window, I later found out that she was high on heroin that night. In November of 1999, my parents found out they were expecting another child and everything seemed to calm down for a
Growing up, and even looking back on those times, I am pretty sure my mom's only goal was to humiliate me. She claims that she didn't try to, but in my heart I know better. My mom always has embarrassed me, and even whips
I have combined these two powerful golden master keys because they are used together. They are called the twin silent keys. You don’t do any action when you wait patiently for something. However, you can loose everything and receive nothing if you do not know how to wait patiently. The most difficult thing to do in this world is having the patience to wait. So many people have failed to use these powerful golden master keys well and as such couldn’t receive the answer to their problems. The waiting period is very difficult and it is the time when the answer to your problem is on its way coming to you. There are only few people on this planet earth who can wait patiently for something. The majority of people loose their faith and beliefs during this waiting period. They decide not to even use the other powerful golden master keys because they think that they do not work.
The Christlike attribute that I chose was patience. This is something that I feel is an attribute that I would like to have. In my life this is something that I feel is not a strong point in it. This is an attribute that I feel would make me stronger spiritually as well as make my family life more of a joyes time around the Christmas season. In my reading and studying of the topic in the scriptures, the talks by the general authorities. I have learned a lot about how and what are some of the things that we want to do to have more patience in our everyday life. Elder Uchtdorf stated it well by saying “There is an important concept here: patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active
...mportant person in my life and I know that she will be always there for me with help, her love, and her care. She’s a wonderful person, she admires the beauty of life, and as a result she is always in a good mood. Now, like my mother, I’m a positive thinker, and I am a creative person who believes life is what you create it to be. I also know if I have to make any big decisions in my life, I can always ask my mom for advice because she has the wisdom and experience. I also know that she will tell me the truth even if it is not something that I want to hear, but she will tell me with kindness and without any judgment. My mother is my role model because she does so much for me; she gives me everything she has just to make my life easier. I love my mother and I am so thankful that she is the way she is. My mother is always there for me and I would do anything for her.
Whenever I am faced with a problem and have to make a decision, I know that my mother will be behind me one-hundred percent no matter what avenue I choose to travel down is. It is a great feeling to know that someone is always going to support me in anything I choose to do. It alleviates much of the stress that comes along with making decisions. For example, when I could not make a decision and choose which college I was going to, a community college or a university, my mother reassured me that she would be happy with the choice I made, as long as it made me happy. Having my mother tell me that alleviated much of the pressure I felt to pick a college. I did not want to disappoint her, and knowing that I would not, made the decision a lot easier. ...
Many people, as well as myself, believe that a mother’s influence is one of the most important influences that one will ever come in contact with in their lives. A mother’s love, comfort, and support will often help to shape a child and allow them to become the person they need to be later on in life. My mother has had a great influence on my life from day one. I often refer to her as my “rock” because she is definitely a solid foundation in my life. Being that she is a great role model, my mother’s support and presence in my life has allowed me to grow as a person, keep my spirits high through hell and high water, prosper in all that I have done, as well as mold me to be a great person in the future.
