To begin, kindness is an important part of everyday living. Kindness means considerate. Also, it means showing one you care. Finally, Kindness is understanding and responding to someone’s needs with warmth, because you don’t know how they were treated before they came to you, and it may have been a bad experience. An experience that makes it hard to turn to others, and she may be a private person who takes in everything. If I want someone to be kind to me, then I should be kind to others. Personally, I try showing kindness to others everyday no matter how I have been treated. One time at work in walked a lady lived across the street. At the front of the store there was a telephone for store use, but that day she needed to use the phone. She
Kindness can really make a difference in a person's attitude. In “A Christmas Carol”, the Cratchits and Scrooge's nephew Fred show kindness to Scrooge, even though Scrooge showed quite the opposite to them. Or in “Thank you M’am”, when Ms. Jones makes Roger food and gives him money to buy his shoes, instead of reporting him to the police. Even in “Little Things Are Big”, when Jesus decides to help people even if he has to face prejudism. These stories all show turning points, and these examples show
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see” – Mark Twain.
“Sometimes it 's easy to walk by because we know we can 't change someone 's whole life in a single afternoon. But what we fail to realize it that simple kindness can go a long way toward encouraging someone who is stuck in a desolate place.” ~ Mike Yankoski
"You see, all their lives, ever since they've known anything, they've lived under the shadow of war—atomic war. For them the abnormal has become normal. All their lives they have heard nothing else, and they expect it” (Frank 85). Alas, Babylon is a book written by Pat Frank about the post-apocalyptic society of Fort Repose, Florida. The story follows Randy Bragg as he finds out what it really means to take care of the people around him in a nuclear war.
The virtue of kindness is not meek it is not niceness. Kindness holds firm to its foundation and values, but it does it in a way that is gentle. Kindness is not naïve, it is wise and discerning (Corey, 211). People confuse being nice as kindness because on the outside both are soft. The inside is what shows the difference. Niceness has no substance, it will go wherever society takes it. Kindness is different, it has a firm, solid center (Corey xv). The components of soft edges and firm centers make kindness warm and inviting and yet it remains deeply rooted to its core beliefs.
Mostly everyone knows the saying “ treat people the way you want to be treated”. But what happens when only one side does? Is it fair? Kindness is a very respected gift that most people take for granted. Not even thinking on how the action of kindness can help or benefit you. But if one would show you cruelty; would you still show them kindness? In the story “ A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings” (Gabriel 1) the angel has given many blessings from kindness, but none was ever returned from the family.
The act of kindness comes by very seldom. “Being kind and generous to people will take you very far in life” is what my great grandmother always told me. Smiling from ear to ear, eyes gazing across the room and that special touch are all it took for her to make someone day. Many days were made if you were surrounded by her and saw that big, bright, and beautiful smile. Soft hands are what she had from giving her entire life. No one went without, you could be a total stranger but she would give you her last.
I will use this value every day and even more so in the future when I get into the field of social working. I do not believe my value of kindness will be relinquished in any aspects of my life if anything it will be extended to more aspects of my life. As I continue to encounter them, this value will be most important to me when I become a social worker. It will be most important to me because I believe it will help me deal with difficult situations, using it as a coping method to handle difficult things I encounter as well as using it for every day to day task that is presented to me as a social worker. I believe this will add to my job, making it easier to understand and handle things. I know this value of kindness will continue to guide me to my future and will help my personal
It's not about giving people things, but more so about one’s daily gestures and what one says to everyone each day. Being kind might be tough at times but in the end avoiding a rude comment is much better than saying one. There are so many ways to show others that being kind is important so don’t be afraid to try some out. Looking into it further, if everyone in the world was kind, we could avoid conflicts from small fights on the streets to world wars because everyone would be able to communicate and compromise with one another in a civilized
Being nice to others as a daily principle of life, such as (hi), smiling, asking people how they are with showing real interest in knowing how they are, not just asking for asking.
Many parents teach their children to be kind and helpful to one another. This will educate their child to learn how to be proper in society. Further, the child will understand that it is important to have this quality so they can be treated with respect by society. Being kind and helpful is a significant quality that someone can have because society will view them as a respectable person. To clarify, society may like a person who seems kind, presentable, and caring as opposed to someone who is the opposite. Examples of helpfulness can be shown in the collection of profiles of activists, Do It Anyway, which includes stories of activists who show a way of helping others. Since being helpful is a good quality to have, everyone should be helpful
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
Kindness is the key to most everything. Being kind means taking the high road, even when someone has wronged you. It means serving other people, even under inconvenient circumstances. It involves looking for the good in others, and even helping them to see the good in themselves. Kindness is spreading happiness to make other’s day better and by making them smile. Kindness is defending those who are picked on by others, sitting by those who are lonely, and saying hi to someone in the hall. Kindness is being someone who wants to build up those around them.
If one person holds the door open for somebody else, basically, the receiver of the kind act is benefitting by not having to open the door. Although the example sounds very simple, the act is still helping somebody. If people did not hold the door open in the modern day society, the combined amount of times one would have to open the door would be significant. Secondly, showing kindness builds character. If somebody shows kindness, the people around would start to see the type of person the giver is. Good character is very important in life, and it will earn somebody a lot in life. On the third hand, there is always an opportunity to show kindness. Showing kindness every day is a very good habit to develop, and it would start to make somebody a better person. Every act of kindness will benefit others, and kindness is a great way to bring people
A good friend must be kind because being kind is when they look out for you no matter what! If they hear girls talking about you, they are the friends that stop them. Friends look out for you even when you are arguing. A friend understands that you may not always get along but you should always try and be there for them and look out for them. Although this can be difficult at times, it proves how kind and loving you are. Another part of being kind is listening to one and another. Sometimes we don't care about what are friends have to say, but listening is really important. Listening shows that you value their friendship. Some friends only talk about themselves and never listen to your problems; that is not a good friend. Listening to each other helps you learn about the person as it shows character and tells that person you can count on them. In addition, being a ...
