Recommended: Impacts after World War II

The Definition of Humanity- ‘The quality or state of being human or of being humane.’ People can read this and interpret this definition the way they want to or understand. Humanity to me means human race, something we are surrounded by, something we are all, human. The word ‘humanity’ comes from the word humanitas which means “human nature, kindness.” Humanity can also mean the love a human has for another. The faith of humanity can be tested. The faith in humanity has been tested many times by terrible acts done by others such as WWI, WWII, 9/11, The Boston Bombing, and the Attack on Pearl Harbor.

When Mr. Arbeiter says he prays for a new love of humanity to be born out of the horrors of the Holocaust, to me I think he is saying that he does not want to have the horrendous acts of the holocaust to happen again. If you forget something so significant that happened in world history it could happen again. Something that multiple generations worked hard for could happen again if we do not remember the past events. We can strive for a better tomorrow if we try. Something we could do to compel a better tomorrow is that we could start off in our local communities and clean up the area. Another idea is to help others not only our friends and family but our entire community with the people in it. Just the littlest things we do in our community could make someone’s day easier. To make a better world we could try to make peace with other countries. Although that would be very hard for two countries who never got along with each other, to have peace it will take time and our country should try it.
