The players are the most important part of any game because without players there would not be exciting matches to watch. The players are the ones who bring the emotion and excitement to the game. There are brilliant players as well as bad players; there are the ones who are always complaining about penalties or the ones that are the clowns of the game, but they are all there to entertain the public. As players, they have to be physically fit to perform well in every game. Soccer Players are among the most fit athletes in sports. The referees are crucial to the game because they are the ones who make sure that no one is breaking the rules. First, one of the most important and obvious rule in soccer is that soccer players are not allowed to use their hands while the ball is in play. Soccer is predominantly played with the feet. The ball can also be controlled with other parts of the body too, as well. For example, soccer players can use their head, their chest, shoulders, and knees. Otherwise, if they use their hands, it counts as a penalty; the only one person that is authorized to use his hands is the goalkeeper. Second, each team in soccer has to have eleven players on the field: One goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards, though this positions can always be slightly different. Soccer is played on a large grass field and in soccer they use two goal nets on each end of the field to score. Finally, the purpose of soccer is to drive the soccer ball into the opposing team’s goal and score one point. On the other hand, American football rules are very complicated and make the game harder to follow and to understand. This leads to boredom while watching a game and there is only excitement when a team scores which can take a long time to happen. First, American football games start with the kickoff, which is one of the few times that they use their feet to play
Soccer is played in over 200 countries over the world, making it the most popular sport. Over one billion fans watch the World Cup Soccer on television, which is played every four years. Soccer players run an average of six miles during every game. The United States and Canada are the only two countries that call it soccer. The first soccer games may have originated in China. The U.S has more official soccer players than any other nation in the world, almost 18 million. The first women’s soccer team, called the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA), made its first debut in 2001.
In soccer, there are no time outs and little stoppage of play, so communication with coaches is limited. For a team to play well, each player must know what they need to do on and off the field. The objective of a soccer team is very simple; score and do not let your opponents score. When your team has the ball, every player already knows to help the person who has the possession of the ball to score. As soon as the ball is lost to the opponent,
The whole world comes together for the World Cup, a finals championship tournament for every country's team to compete to see who will be the winner. Even old people enjoy watching this game. According to Dictionary.com, soccer is defined as a 'form of football played between two teams of 11 players, in which the ball may be advanced by kicking or by bouncing it off any part of the body, except the arms and hands. However, in the case of the goalkeepers, they may use their hands to catch, carry, throw, or stop the ball.' There are no complex rules. No touching the ball only kicking. You have to get the ball into the goal to score a point. There also half times and out of bounds, but it's simple to understand. The competition is what I enjoy the most. I feel the rush of adrenaline shoot through me as I carry the ball down the field, and the other players trying to take it away from me.
Even though football and soccer often share a name, the two sports are vastly different: they both contain their own merits though; each has its own athletes, rules, and fan base. Athletes in both sports are incredibly fit and in control of their bodies although they can differ. In soccer, all positions require speed, agility, and leg dexterity in order to out run their opponent and maneuver the ball while in football the variety of positions require different attributes. Height is only beneficial in soccer for some defenders and mid-fielders in order to gain an advantage to jump for heading while it can act to slow attackers who need speed and quickness above jump height. Speed, in both running and ball control, is required above all else to chase or lose the other team. To wrestle control of the ball from opponents, defenders in soccer must simply be stronger than the lightweight sized attackers. Only goalies need hand-eye coordination while the rest of the team needs only foot finesse. In football the many positions require their own set of needs. Quarterbacks must be tall to see the field over the lineman and have a good arm to throw the ball. Lineman must be as large and strong as possible to block or move the opposing line man. Runningbacks need speed and quickness to out run and dodge while having enough strength to break tackles and hold on to the ball. Receivers are similar except that they also need hand-eye coordination to catch passes and height to outreach the defense. Linebackers must be the most versatile, with strength to take down ball carriers and a combination of speed and coordination to keep up with receivers. Defensive backs need to keep up with receivers to stop passes. Mentally, it is demanded that players...
Athletes who play football share the same goal as athletes who play soccer: score the most goals to win the game. In football, there are two areas on opposite sides of the field where one can score points by bringing the football over the goal line. Soccer shares this same concept by having two nets on opposite sides of the field where one can score a point by kicking the soccer ball into the net. Also, both sports share the concept of having an offense and defense, and both sports each have eleven players on a team on the field at a time. These are only few of many similarities between these two sports, but in actuality, they are significantly different. The rules, rituals, and concepts of both sports distinguish themselves from each other.
