Freedom...What do you think it means to you? I’ll tell you about what I think freedom is. When I hear the word freedom I think of the people back when they were slaves and didn’t get much freedom unless they escaped, but a now days people have so much freedom , but there are places where you don’t get very much freedom like in the 1960s compared to know where we have places where we can go and do many things. Then when I think of freedom it could be a bad thing, or a good thing back then when there was freedom if they had freedom it could have been horrific because people would think of freedom as to go and shoot someone but now days it still could be a bad or a good thing and tha’tsthe reason why there are lots of people or even kids that go to school and are educated that still go out and use freedom they have and just really blow it off or really just don’t care like they will go to school and then after school use the freedom they have to be doing …show more content…

These days there are many people who come to our country to have more freedom than what they have. I think if you have freedom enjoy , it have a good time do not waste it doing plain old and stupid things. Just go and use your freedom and not abuse your freedom. When you have time to go and have freedom, then do not. go out of your educational life if you’re a kid or even if your an adult that is going to school get your freedom right do great things in life not bad things. The reason that you shouldn’ t do bad things because it could get yourselves in trouble by doing bad things instead of going and having the freedom you have. My thought of freedom is very different from other I take freedom as having a good

Throughout history, Americans have sought to spread the spirit of equality, which is believed to be the realization of true freedom. Before establishing this freedom, every American had only one question stuck in their head: What is freedom? Our country received it in the year of 1776 from the British through a series of difficulties and wars. African Americans defined it as an escape from slavery, while immigrants defined it as their acceptance into a new society. More yet, women of the women’s suffrage defined their freedom as their recognition into society and for their rights to be equal to that of every other man. These different perceptions of cultures/groups in America tied together to form an American view of freedom. Freedom is something that every American should be willing to do anything in order to maintain. We may have weapons of mass destruction, but when it comes to living in a peaceful, American lifestyle, our freedom is our greatest weapon.
According to Dictionary.com freedom means “the state of being uncontrolled by another, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint.” Freedom. What does freedom mean to you? Even though freedom means the state of being uncontrolled by another, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint, I believe that freedom means being able to accomplish what you desire and when you desire it without anyone saying anything, by reason of the comparison and contrast of our society and the society in the book Anthem by Ayn Rand, the negation of the word freedom, and synonyms of the word freedom. I believe that you should accept the consequences of the actions you take when you have your “freedom” as well.
According to the Collins Dictionary, “freedom” is defined as “the state of being allowed to do what you want to do”(“freedom”). The definition of freedom is simple, but make yourself free is not easy. Concerning about some common cases which will take away your freedom, such as a time-cost high education attainment. In this essay, I shall persuade that everyone should try his or her best to insist on pursuing freedom. For the individual, it appears that only if you have your personal freedom, can you have a dream; for a country, it seems that only if the country is free, can the country develop; for mankind, it looks like that only if people has their own pursuit of freedom, can their thoughts evolve.
With freedom comes great responsibility. This saying has been heard by generations of kids and has been said by generations of parents. Unfortunately people today don?t seem to be responsible in certain things they do. You see things in media today that make you wonder when you draw the line on things you say and do. William Golding the author of Lord of The Flies conveys this thought in the story of the boys stuck on the island where they have complete freedom to do whatever they want to do. They no longer had adults to tell them what and how to do things. The story just proves that when people are irresponsible and freedom gets abused that very bad things can happen.
Writer Marilyn Vos Savant once stated, “What is the essence of America? Finding and maintaining that perfect, delicate balance between freedom ‘to’ and freedom ‘from’.” When you are an American, freedom is just one of the multitudinous privileges that come with the package. Benefits such as rights, the pursuit of happiness, and diversity are some additional perquisites. However, everything has flaws and America has a few.
In conclusion, freedom is having power to inflict a positive change on the world. The ability to be yourself and not change for anyone. The right to choose who rules and who doesn’t rule. Freedom is open to anyone who will fight for its existence, even if that fight is only to say that they yearn for it. On the most part, we see freedom as free. If we want to go out at 3:00 a.m. for ice cream and shotgun shells, we are "free" to do just that. Freedom can stretch too many things such as being able to do as they please, they are not forced into doing anything that someone may want. Ever since the New World was discovered, people have been fighting for their independence till this day. People of other colors and race have been forced to do labor without their consent. Today, those same people have been blamed or accused of crimes that were not committed by them despite of being free. The definition of freedom is that one has the right to act, think, or say as one wants without restrictions. As said by Ronald Reagan, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same." Freedom is when you can do what you want to do with your own life. You can get the job you want, get the education you want, and live your life the way you want to. We fight wars for our freedom, and we speak out against what we believe is wrong. From now, to the beginning of mankind, there has been revolutions, wars, and rights movements. Freedom is fought for in every generation.
What would you do without freedom? Too many people in America take the greatest thing we have in our country for granted. Not a lot of people realize how great they have it compared to other countries in the world. I couldn’t imagine from the time I was born having someone already have my life picked out for me, or work at the same job for 40 years knowing you can never move up from the position you started at, and the worst thing is you never even chose that job.
The constitution of the United States of America gives me the right to freedom because I am a United States citizen. I consider "freedom" to be my right to express myself in any way I choose. Freedom is defined as "having liberty of action or thought, independent". "Self-governed or not controlled by an outside party" is another definition of freedom. Freedom has a different meaning to each individual thus making it hard to find a clear concise definition.
