What Are The Similarities Between Gerald Ford And Watergate

During Gerald Ford's presidency, he had some scandalous rumors between Nixon at the time. They were things that were not right before he came president. There were things that went wrong while he was running for president like the scandal of Watergate. It held many challenges and uncertainties. While Gerald Ford was taking the Oath the declared "Our long national nightmare is over”(Greene). With his simple statement, he has recognized the anguish caused by Watergate and he intended to lead the country forward to the future.

The key issues of his presidency were when the scandal happened over the Watergate. There was an unusual event that has lifted Gerald Ford to the Oval Office. When the operatives contact president Richard Nixon during

Shortly after Ford has pardoned Nixon, for the crimes he has done, that means Nixon would never have to face any criminal charges. Ford’s decision had made a big controversy over his decisions, most Americans wanted to disgrace the justice. Ford has issued the pardon of part of the pre- arranged deal. Ford has insisted the nation’s future has hinged on the ending of the ordeal of Watergate and he would be continuing to heal.

Even though he went through some hard times with the inflation economy, he became a popular president during his 25 years of Congress. He did great things for America like for example, his first goal was to curb the inflation, and then when the recession became the Nation’s most serious domestic problem he had shifted to measure the aimed to stimulate the economy. Another major goal he had was to help business to operate more freely by reducing the taxes and ease controls by regulatory agencies. Ford wants to maintain peace and no harm towards others. But he couldn’t control what was going on during the time with Cambodia or South Vietnam. He just wanted peace and he wanted to prevent a war in the Middle East was a major objective between them the two countries which were Israel and Egypt. They gave aid to both of the country, Ford’s Administrator helped persuade Israel and Egypt to accept the truce agreement. Ford and Soviet leader Leonid I. Brezhnev they had set some new limitations over the nuclear weapons. President had won the Republican nomination for the presidency. On an Inauguration Day, President Carter began his speech: "For myself and for our Nation, I want to thank my predecessor for all he has done to heal our land." A grateful people concurred.. President Carter was thankful for what the President have done and how he heals the United States land against the other countries, and how he was thankful that now the land could have peace finally. He kept the peace among the other countries.
The historians say that the Gerald Ford was ranked in the 20’s. In 2000 he was ranked in the 23rd and then on 2009 he was ranked in the 22nd. Now in the 2017 he has ranked in the 25th. So this means he has become less famous or less popular. Meaning at the time he was closer to be one of the best president, but there some things he could have done better. The things he could have done better for him to a great president doesn't pardon Richard Nixon for his Watergate scandal. There were things the as a president, he could have done better like for example in the economy, inflation he could have raised taxes more and bring the employment back, have more jobs at the time so people could bring the economy better. Overall he was an okay president, he did helped in some ways and he was loved by people.
