An advantage for meteorologists is that they are able to predict future weather and potentially save lives during an emergency (Clary 1). Another advantage would be the nationwide opportunities (Clary 1). Since weather constantly occurs consistently around the world, job opportunities can be found in any country. Meteorologists’ median salary is $90,000 per year and can be employed by anyone (Clary 1). A disadvantage for meteorologists is the need for flexible hours and the possibility of working long hours during an emergency (Clary 1). For the purpose of this paper, we will discuss a weather event that few think of regarding natural disasters; winter storms. Winter storms are different from a snowy day in that a winter storm can include heavy snow, damage-causing ice, high winds, dangerously low temperatures, low visibility, or any combination thereof (America’s PrepareAthon, 2015) and makes travel extremely hazardous. A winter storm can affect an entire region and victims may experience loss of utility services, limited mobility, among various personal crises (illnesses, accidents, or death). For example, between November 17 and November 20, 2014 Buffalo, New York was buried under 7 feet of snow causing thirteen fatalities, hundreds of roof collapses/structural failures, thousands of stranded motorists, downed trees, and power outages in addition to food and gas shortages (National Weather Service, n.d.). The weather conditions play a major influential role in a person’s daily life. Thoughts, feelings, and behaviors have be linked with different weather conditions, depending on the person. Different moods and behaviors have been correlated with different weather conditions, further proving its psychological effect. However, these same psychological influences have been examined to be more physiologically affecting. In this paper, the role of weather conditions, (positive and negative), in relation to their influence on behavioral health will be reviewed. It is hypothesized that exposure to constantly fluctuating levels of high barometric pressure will lead to negative behavior. The following literature reviews will demonstrate and support this hypothesis.

Forensic scientists work in labs where they examine, identify, and interpret evidence collected in crime scenes. Crime scene investigators collect evidence and pass it to a forensic scientist who uses the items in numerous ways to help catch criminals. Forensic scientists must also record the evidence and any tests ran on it in detail to prove the truth in court. A forensic scientist also has to be able to present his or her physical evidence verbally in court, so a strong communication background is important.
Environmental conditions play a vital part in aviation as a whole. Much planning goes into a flight based on the current and forecast weather conditions for safety reasons. Accidents have occurred due to flying in bad weather such as thunderstorms with low level wind sheer, lightning, hale, icing conditions and poor visibility. Poor weather especially icing can be very dangerous to flight but most accidents can be avoided if the right precautions are taken to avoid potential bad weather situations. The weather forecasters use probability and statistics just as much if not more than any other field on earth. As weather patterns are not fully understood and are dynamic, analysts have to rely heavily on past weather systems and patterns to “guess'; or estimate the possibility of present weather systems to behave in similar manners. If the probability of its behavior, subject to certain factors, in one manner over another is high forecasters make decisions as to how to advise the public.
Like most problems, the answer is not simple. The obvious first choice is the military. History shows that the concept of weather warfare is not new to them and that they have considered weather manipulation as a tactical advantage.
Besides these subjects, there are some things that every geologist should know. Most of these things are laws and rules about how the Earth is made up and how it works. These include chemical compositions, structures, and properties of a substance (Abilities from jobs.virginia.gov 1). Knowing what the magnetic, electrical, and gravitational forces are is also essential (JIST 60). Geologists have to know the methods for describing landforms, the sea, and air masses (1). This is helpful when working in the field. Geologists can describe what they see better and present it to others in a clearer way. As with anything, knowing the history of the study is also important. Geologists need to know historical events, their causes, indicators, and impact (1).
