Core beliefs are things that you know and believe that are true about yourself regardless of what other people think or feel. They are how we see ourselves, other people, the world, and the future. Our beliefs influence us in how we live our lives. A core belief that I have is that positive thoughts are powerful in all aspects of life. Positive thinking is about more than just simply being cheerful or displaying an upbeat attitude. I think having a positive mindset will improve things in your life in the long haul.
Positive thoughts are incredibly valuable in life. Professor Barbara Fredrickson is a social psychologist from the University of North Carolina. She suggests that positivity is what helps you experience emotions like joy, appreciation, motivation, and inspiration. When you are experiencing positive emotions like these, you will see more possibilities and worth in your life. There is real power in optimism. Optimists are problem solvers, they try to find the good in all situations. They try to improve

I would like to mention a few bible verses that I live by and believe are important for not only followers of Christ, but for all to live by as well. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise.” In other words we should turn away from dwelling on that of which is negative. We choose the way we respond to events in our lives. We can see everything as a tragedy or view things as a challenge. We can see obstacles or opportunities. Proverbs 17:22 says “A cheerful heart brings good healing, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” A joyful heart is a healthier heart and a person that people love to be around. Positivity is contagious and if everyone could just focus most their attention of the good things in life, there would be so much more joy in the
There are five core beliefs in the Bible that has a significant impact on the Christian faith and the lives of its adherents. These five beliefs are, the divinity and humanity of Jesus, the death and resurrection of Jesus, the nature of God and the trinity, the revelation and salvation. These beliefs are all clearly demonstrated in various forms and quantities across all Christian denominations.
This shows that positive thinking can get in the way of all your hopes and dreams. You may have an image of a life that seems perfect, but you need to be able to separate that from reality and not get the two mixed. It sometimes blinds you from the true reality. Also in the same text, it stated ‘’the pressure of positive thinking can result in suppressing any pessimistic thoughts or unpleasant emotions because they might attract bad things. You deprive yourself of access to the complete picture and the full range of emotions.
If someone thinks negatively towards something the outcome will not be good, and vice versa. Thinking you can achieve the American dream is a major key in doing so, and some Americans are already on the right track. In the U.S., a survey showed that 36 percent of Americans say they have achieved the dream, and another 46 percent believe they are on the path of achieving it. It is not so easy, though, to always look on the bright side. Sometimes it seems as if nothing is going right; that is when negativity occurs. People can argue that mindset has little impact on the outcome, or that it does not matter how positive a person is because some things are just not meant to be. An article, however, proves this wrong. The paper argues how negative emotions prevent humans from flourishing; it also states, “if your ratio of positive to negative emotions is greater than 2.9013 to one, you will flourish both physically and psychologically.” If a person believes in themselves, they are more likely to accomplish their
The importance dispositional optimism as a facilitator of well-being, positive health, flourishing, and quality of life has been documented in the positive psychology literature. Dispositional optimism evaluated by the LOT-R is a positive personality trait characterized by favorable personal future expectation (Scheier et al., 1994). It has been emphasized that optimism is a malleable personality trait and that pessimists can become optimists by utilizing techniques such as positive psychology interventions (Carver et al., 2009; Seligman, 2011). In contrast to traditional psychological interventions, positive psychology interventions have a strong focus on cultivating positive personality traits including dispositional optimism.
The core values I think represent me the best are Honesty, Friendly, Helpful, and Courteous. These are a few of the things I learned from achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in my Boy Scout troop, the scout law has twelve core values but these are the ones that best represent me. Each of these four words I depict in my everyday style whether its helping someone with directions or holding the door open for someone whose hands are full to making sure that I am polite to everyone I meet and making sure that I use my own work and to not plagiarize someone else’s just to complete some school work, or receive a higher grade on a test. The other eight values that are in the scout law are my best characteristics and those are loyal, kind, obedient, cheerful,
For me, there are two kinds of core values. There are the business core values that are the guiding principles that a firm values and which forms the foundation that it performs work and conducts itself. Also the book The Devil’s Arithmetic is another fantastic example for keeping positivity. The book is about a girl who is magically put back in time to the Holocaust. She tries to just go along with what is happening because she is convinced it is a dream. This thought is looking at things in a positive way because she doesn’t completely live in fear in this world she is put in. She does the best of her ability help out the people that are there. Her positivity inspires others, and now they too have a positive attitude. The positivity kept most of them from suffering a terrible
Christianity has several principal beliefs, key ideas that adherents hold as truth which are interdependent and correlate that teach believers how to be good Christians. By following the principal beliefs set out in the sacred texts and core ethical teachings, Christians are to become “servants of God” like Pope Francis said in his 2015 Lenten message: Make your hearts firm: “Christians are those who let God clothe them with goodness and mercy, with Christ, so as to become, like Christ servants of God and others”. Of the five principal beliefs, three will be focused on: Jesus’s death and resurrection, the ideas of salvation and revelation and the implication they have on the lives of Christian adherents as “servants of God”. Jesus’ death
While some people can share common values and hold different beliefs, they are still important for some. They give people a reason on why something is important to them. People’s values and beliefs also define what kind of person you are.

You are always in control and can thrive through the difficult situations and influences life will throw at

These phycologists have wondered if there are more optimist or pessimists in the world. They have made an attempt to find out what approach is greater or better. There are some advantages to optimism because it makes people feel better about life, however, there are also some advantages to pessimism in that looking at the unfortunate side of things can help some pessimists cope better with the world. Both optimism and pessimism have important roles to play the lives of everybody. Being optimist permits people to go after their goals in a positive way, to dream bigger and better dreams, which they can strive to work towards. Optimist also tend to respond better to positive feedback, and a part of being an optimist may be producing this feedback for themselves, example, thinking positive thoughts. Once again, part of the reason why pessimist generates negative thoughts is that it helps them perform a lot better. People tend to utilize both optimism and pessimism in order for them gain out of their advantages. People who are mainly concerned with growth or advancement often manifest an optimistic view, whereas those who are concerned with safety and security, or avoiding negative outcomes, focus more on pessimism in order to improve their
