Web Reaches 100 Million Sites (With Teacher's Comments)
I found this article to be quite interesting. We all know there is a lot of websites out there, but 100 million is a tough number to imagine. It is really amazing that after taking until 2004 to reach 50 million it only took a little over 2 years to reach double that. [statements of facts here. Who said it reach 50 million two years, why not 15 million in 20 years? You need a citation reference here.] I guess I would be a little bit late in the game to make the conclusion that the internet is here to stay.
There is such an abundance of information and the internet has become such an integral part of our lives in just a few short years. Right now I find it fascinating that when I think about how I bought my first house in 1996 compared to the process of buying my second home just last year. I didn't [Avoid the use of contractions in formal writing (e.g., Don't = do not)] even use the internet for any part of the process the first time around. I looked up a realtor in the phone book and I got all the information on listings from here. She gave me some documentation on different mortgage brokers and all of the homes we looked for were ones that she had picked out for us to see based on our criteria. This time around I had most of these things complete by the time I had even selected a relator (which I did online). There are several tools online that let you complete much of the home buying process yourself with little to no experience in real estate. Even if you know nothing about real estate at all you can learn everything you need to know online.
The first thing I did was find a neighborhood I wanted to live in. This was merely a matter of checking out mapquest and finding the areas that were within the radius I wanted to be from certain other key points on interest, such as my office and where my kids live. Then I was able to check out other key statistics such as crime rates and how the schools rate.

Buying or selling a house or an apartment is one of the biggest decisions of a person’s life. And when selling or establishing a price for real estate, people seek out real estate agents to do the dirty work. A real estate agent has to convince a prospective homeowner that he or she is trustworthy and knowledgeable. In many ways, the agent acts as a counselor to individuals and families about to embark on a huge commitment. Real estate agents have a thorough knowledge or real estate market in their community. They
Most people that decide to buy houses do so by applying for loans. There are two distinct types of mortgages or loans.
Naturally, one of the biggest decisions you will need to make is whether you prefer to live in the city or if a suburb is the better option for you. Deciding between these items could affect your school district options, cost of living and the options you have for housing.
A son who kills his own father, marries his own mother, and is both the father and brother of his mother’s children. Oedipus, meaning “swollen foot”, grows up with adopted parents and a brooding prophecy on his heels. The frightful tale of Oedipus and his indescribable fate play out in the Greek theatrical production of Oedipus Rex. The horrible destiny for Oedipus is inevitable due to the unfavorable traits given to him by the author, Sophocles. Throughout Oedipus Rex, Sophocles masterfully weaves Oedipus’ fatal traits of naiveté, arrogance, and curiosity into the intriguing plot.
Of course the internet (in some respects) is much like the steam engine and mass transit in the way it facilitates more commerce, more social interaction between Americans, greater senses of common identity. These forms of technology will definitely continue to change the social and cultural situation of the American people, compounding the effects of the industrial revolution in America’s history; i.e. compounding the social, cultural, economic, technological, as well as geographical changes accompanying technology. However, the variety of ways in which this
Everyone will experience buying a house at one point or another. Why not have a real estate agent help you and guide you through the process? I chose this occupation because it interests me for many different reasons. Wouldn’t you like a job where your schedule revolved around your life? Or you could control the growth of your business? Or basically over time, be your own boss? These are a few of the many reasons the real estate industry has caught my eye.
Nothing can make you feel safer than owning a house, provided that buying a home will not result in financial problems of its own. Every year, a new wave of first time home buyers hits the trail in search of their humble abode. There are pros and cons to home buying. Certainly, there is the matter of timing and related financing programs.
Buying a home is something most people do at least once in their lifetime. Many people dream of buying their own home. The amount of new homes has grown tremendously and many people are buying houses. The median price of homes in California is approximately $500,000. The conventional way of buying a home is a procedure that takes a lot of time and patience. There are a few steps and procedures that are included in buying home. It includes getting pre-qualified by a loan agent to determine the maximum dollar amount of mortgage you can truly afford (real important step in the process), seeking a realtor, searching for homes, making offers, hiring a title company, an appraiser, home inspector, termite company and opening and closing escrow and other various services that benefit both buyer and seller. Buying a home is a complex process and most consumers do not know where to start and lack the education in regards to it.
The first step to buying your home is assessing your financial situation. A person must evaluate how much exactly they can afford and borrow. Most people hire a real estate agent to find a home. A real estate agent can help in finding different homes that suit the person’s needs. At the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s website, “You'll want to start searching for a broker as soon as you decide to buy a home. Talk to several and find someone you think you'll be comfortable working closely with”(1) Having a wide range of options is always helpful. An agent can also help in negotiating the price, and showing what the potential buyer needs after finding a home. A buyer might also need the services of a lawyer, a loan officer, insurance agents, and an accountant. In all purchasing your own home is a daunting task if you plan on doing it alone.
The Internet has become a major tool for communication and access to information for over two and half billion people (Wright 121). Although Internet has become an unavoidable reality that is consuming our planet in a web of information. This process is being shaped by our actions and choices which ultimately drives us together (Deibert 11). Nowadays China has over 538 million netizens, the world’s largest online community (Feng & Guo 335).
The two neighborhoods that I chose to use for this assignment are vastly different. The main reason is because they are on opposite sides of the country. The first neighborhood that I visited is the one that I grew up in. This neighborhood is in Connecticut, on the East Coast, all the way across the country from the neighborhood that I currently live in here in West Hollywood. Most of my family lives in Connecticut and Massachusetts and I’m the only one who lives on the West Coast. A big difference is that the neighborhood in Connecticut has houses that are more spaced out, have larger lawns, and very many more trees. There are very few apartments there, unlike where I live now where my entire street is almost all apartment buildings.
Everything revolves around the internet these days. Every business, big or small has a internet website for you to visit. Let’s face it, the internet is not going away, we as a people must learn to use this tool and not think of it as a negative thing. The internet must be used positively to benefit us. We can find anything we want through the internet. The internet can be abused but we must educate our children so they can use it effectively to their advantage. We definitely need to make most schools have the internet in classrooms, there is no doubt about it.
In conclusion, the Internet has built up our society, but it could also tear it down with a major Internet black out. The Internet offers great opportunities for technological advancement. It has created a new way of personal, social, and business interactions. I believe the Internet was one of the best creations of time and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future of the Internet and its relationship with human kind.
The traditional education environment is starting to implement new ways to teach students with the rapid development of technology. One strategy is the use of the internet to communicate, listen, and share ideas among students and professors alike; specifically the use of the internet realm in wikis, blogs, and podcasts. Blogs are either a website in itself or a part of a website where something like an interactive journal is being used; a person can write about anything they wish, link or show images, and decide whether other people can comment on the blog entry. Wikis are websites or webpages dedicated to providing information about a topic and can be edited by either the members of that site. Podcasts are digital files in the form of audio, video, or both that can be downloaded online onto computers, MP3 players, certain phones, and many more devices. Wikis, blogs, and podcasts could positively alter the educational format of lectures for students.
