We The People Chapter 6 Summary

Chapter Six in the book We the People is about Public Opinion, one of the main points of this chapter is Political Ideology. Political Ideology is set of ideas and beliefs that help us understand and interpret politics, in other words political ideology can be describe as the values that Political Parties have and that make people to support them. The book talks about different Political Ideologies’. The Political Ideologies that I found the most interesting are Libertarianism, Socialist and Conservative. Libertarianism is when people believe that there should be a small government (very little government involment), on the other side of the spectrum we have Socialism. Socialists supporters believe that the government should be heavily involve in social programs and help promote a “strong economy”. The most important groups is our family, family is a big factor because kids tend to “absorb” the political views of their parents as they grow-up with them. Social media is another big factor because young people spend a lot of their time in social media platforms and they are becoming more aware of the different issues of society and how it can affect them, also teens are exposed to the different opinions that people have and then they are able to form their own political view.
