In the beginning the book is explaining how it takes time to learn more about life itself saying that our descendants will look back and ask why didn't we know how to do this and they found it out so simply. Then in ancient times everyday speech, the most happenings were connected with the greatest events of man kind. A great example is incantation against the worm which the Assyrians of 1000 B.C. imagined to cause toothaches. It begins with the origin of the universe and ends with a cure for toothache. The book explains how out people in the past wanted to learn the universe also but when it came to the method on how to do it they just failed and the people believed in three gods that restricted them from doing there adventure. Then Carl Sagan goes into how …show more content…
Carl Sagan then begins going on how the stars go to supernova, planets also And he explains on how they were discovered how this actually happened when the Rays are reflected from Sun and the planets many different conclusion where made but if the supernova planet for star is near us when it decides to explode then it is a possible thing that it can take out the human Civilization and Could possibly be enought to blow up earth or knock it completely out of orbit. I know that we have a planet that is getting to its supernova stage that could possibly affect the humans alittle and if it gets closer we don't know what could actually happen but when it does we will know. This is towards the end but people begin to start making the sense of the Egyptian writing and People where able to study the Egyptians life which is one of the most advanced civilization on planet earth when they were alive but if the Egyptian pyramids are possibly then the long lost civilization of Atlantis is more than possibly it can be real knowing the fact that in some of the pictures in the pyramids are pictures of people

...It is extremely difficult to control the desire to know everything. Like I stated earlier, as humans, we like to feel as if we have the world in the palm of our hands. As a dominant species, we want to be aware of everything that goes on around us. However, many things will never be figured out because that is the nature of life. In this book, Ruth Ozeki brings that to light and enlightens us with the message that it is okay to accept that we will not know everything. She does it through the suicidal tendencies of Nao’s father and her behavior, through time, and through the helplessness that Ruth feels towards Nao. She teaches us that our lives would be so much richer if we stopped worrying about things that are out of our control and learn to just live in the present. This is one of the best messages a book and I know that many people will begin to live in the Nao.
the human race will be taken to the point of complete break down. He feels that
The novel begins with an epigraph: "He who cannot draw on three thousand years is living from hand to mouth" (Gaarder 161). This quote in Sophie’s World is included in this chapter because you need to be able to understand how history came to be. If you can’t understand history or don’t know what is going on right now in the world, then you are as poor as can be. For example, if you don’t know how Christianity began, you don’t understand why people believe in what they do. In philosophy, belief has a lot of importance because it defines and sets the blueprint for what and who people want to be. All the things humans do are based on what we believe in. It determines our lifestyle and the culture we are involved in. Even though philosophy is more than believing, it still helps us determine our reasoning and understanding of the world around us. According to Gaarder, “Aristotle held that all our thoughts and ideas have come into our consciousness through what we have heard and seen” (Gaarder 108). He believed there is a purpose for everything, and he understood what was going on around him. Everybody has something they believe in, whether it’s reincarnation or Christianity. You need to know about your historical roots in order to be a human being. Without knowing about the people and events that have happened before us, we are just ordinary, ignorant
Gravitational collapse begins when a star has depleted its steady sources of nuclear energy and can no longer produce the expansive force, a result of normal gas pressure, that supports the star against the compressive force of its own gravitation. As the star shrinks in size (and increases in density), it may assume one of several forms depending upon its mass. A less massive star may become a white dwarf, while a more massive one would become a supernova. If the mass is less than three times that of the sun, it will form a neutron star. However, if the final mass of the remaining stellar core is more than three solar masses, as shown by the American physicists J. Robert Oppenheimer and Hartland S. Snyder in 1939, nothing remains to prevent the star from collapsing without limit to an indefinitely small size and infinitely large density, a point called the "singularity.
However, the most contentious question concerning ancient Egypt, the one that has inspired the most emotionally charged arguments, concerns their ethnic identity. Egypt lies on the African continent, specifically in its northeastern region, yet traditionally historians have classified it as part of the “Near Eastern” (alongside Sumer, Babylon, and Israel) or “Mediterranean” (alongside Greece and Rome) cultural blocs. Whenever anyone makes a movie or television show set in Egypt, white rather than black actors are chosen to play the Egyptians, for instance, Yul Brynner as the pharaoh Rameses in C.B. Demille’s The Ten Commandments, or Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep in The Mummy. The implication here is that despite being in Africa, ancient Egypt was really a white civilization of European or Asian origin rather than being truly African.
a global catastrophe and life on our Planet could come to an end. The explosion
... a never-ending growth of knowledge and understanding. At any moment, we have to power to step outside that revolving door and read or experience something new, ending in an array of human intellect. It is our curiosity about the unknown and actions following it that satiates this burning desire. So cultivate the curiosity, find the unfamiliar within the familiar, and thrive on uncertainty because curiosity may have killed the cat, but it surely aided the human. Without it, we would still be living in cold, dark caves, eating raw meat, drawing on rocks, and grunting at one another.
The Apocalypse. The Day of Final Judgment. The Armageddon. Throughout the history of humankind, the concept of the end of the world and an afterlife constantly lingered and drove humans to fear the gods. Most believed that a catastrophic event caused by divine or supernatural powers would end the world and plunge humans into the mysterious abyss of the afterlife. In recent years, however, it is becoming more apparent that the technologies and innovations of human creation will eventually be the root cause of their demise. Technologies created during the 20th and 21st centuries alone have contributed to multitudes of problems, including mass pollution, atmospheric deterioration, overwhelming poverty, and the constant threat of complete nuclear annihilation. The growing deadliness of technologies coupled with the continuing corruption of humans can be enough to lead to the destruction of most, if not all, humans. In addition, the threat of natural catastrophic occurrences exists as a considerable threat to humans. Disease pandemics, devastating meteor strikes, and the age of the solar system are all factors that can and eventually will destroy the human race. Thus, even if humans are able to become an advanced utopian society devoid of corruption and pollution, the threat of natural catastrophes will ensure the death of the human race. Therefore, in hypothesizing the fate of the human race, it is only a question whether the end is coming sooner or later. New human technology and natural catastrophic occurrences will eventually end the human race.
The human mind is capable of conceiving several depictions of the end of the world, which are fueled by our world’s contemporary problems, the evolution of technology, religion or other science fiction theories. Whether society comes to an end by alien invasions, asteroid impacts, outbreaks of zombie pandemics, God’s Judgment, deadly viruses or nuclear wars, mankind’s strong appeal towards these fictional and very detailed illustrations of Armageddon will continue to surface and entertain us.

Literature is not just a paper and a pen, literature is the key to understanding a culture. Through the use of writing such as hieroglyphs, Ancient Egypt was able to solve political issues, practice their religion, and keep track of their past. Based on all this literature should be given great importance in today’s society.
