Tanner Smith A&P 5/18/18 Water & Electrolyte Essay Water is a very important part of the human body. Not only is it something that hydrates us, but it is all over the inside of our body. Without it, we couldn’t live more than five days at most. Blood is more than eighty percent water. More than thirty percent of our bones are made up with water as well. Water does lots of work for our bodies, as it distributes and carries the nutrients that are needed to cells. Examples include glucose or minerals. Water gets rid of things like toxins that are rejected, and does the job through feces or urine. Water also helps break down what we consume. It contains a huge capacity of heat that does a great job of controlling our body temperature, no matter
Throughout The Awakening, water the main motif serves as a catalyst to the metamorphosis of Edna. During the length of the story Edna goes through a process of changes that coincides with the presence of water. Water serves as a conduit for liberation and empowerment that facilitates the rebirth and even death of Edna. In this essay I will argue that the motif of water represents the continual transformations that occur within Edna throughout the story.
Electrolytes are substances that have the capacity to conduct electricity when it is dissolved in water. In an “electrolytic solution”, if two electrodes, one being positive and the other negative, are placed in the solution then ions have the ability to transport free electrons to and from both of the electrodes. Electrolytes have the ability to created currents, however a stronger electrolytes will be able to conduct more current than a weaker electrolytes. Acids in a solution are good electrolytes since the acids supply the solution with hydrogen ions. If a solution contains organic compound has sugar or starch, then that solution won’t conduct electricity well since organic compounds are contributing as many hydrogen ions as acids. Electrolytes can be found in modern technology and allow them to function for example power watches, cars, and flashlight rely on electrolytes to be able to function. In these
Water has importance inside cells and outside. This may be because of its chemical and physical properties; it can be found naturally in all three of its states. At room temperature water is in a liquid state, It boils at 100ºC and freezes at 0ºC. However its molecules are bonded together by hydrogen bonds, this raises it's melting and boiling points, e.g. its boiling point would be -120ºC rather than 100ºC. Water can also be used as a solvent because of it polarity. Many things will dissolve in it, and more reactions take place while in solution with water.
-Water acts as a lubricant for muscles and joints and it helps cushion joints to keep muscles working
Our bodies are made up of 60% water(Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017). Since water is needed to keep our bodies healthy, we have to make sure we drink enough water everyday, so our bodies function properly. The function of water is to help get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements. Water is need to keep a persons body temperature normal, keep joints cushioned and hydrated. By staying hydrated, it helps protect sensitive tissues, and the spinal cord(Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017).
Williams (2006) define water as a clear, tasteless, odourless fluid. Water is a vital nutrient for good health posner (1998). Most of our body weight (60-70%) is made up of water. Wretlid (1999) explain that water is important in human body because, it help to control our body temperature, carries nutrients and water product from our cell, and it needed for our cells to function help us to lose weight, for the heath skin, fight infections, get rid of toxins, health heart, prevent join pains and arthritis, boost energy, prevent constipation and reduce chances of cancer. World Health Organisation recommended that, adults drink 8 glasses of fluid daily or more in hot weather or during physical activity. This fluid doesn’t have to be water alone.it can also obtain from juice, milk, soap as fruit and vegetables Garrow

For example, a study from the Voice Institute of New York found that drinking alkaline water with a pH of 8.8 can help deactivate pepsin. Pepsin is the main enzyme that causes acid reflux. Another study published in the Shanghai Journal of Preventive Medicine suggests that drinking alkaline water may be beneficial for people who suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Meanwhile, the study from the University of Alberta concludes, “it would be prudent to consider an alkaline diet to reduce morbidity and mortality of chronic disease that are plaguing our aging
Our body is made up almost three-quarters of water, the younger the person, the higher the water content. Different body tissues contain different amounts of water. In blood, in the skeletal muscles and the skin is a lot of water, the fat just a little. A normal adult needs about 2 liters of fluid per day to replace the water that the body loses every day through sweat, exhaled air, etc. Excess water, salts and urea become urine.
Water is the best thing anyone can put into water. Even without exercise, if you’re thirsty, water is the way to go. It should be put before any other soft drink. Active people or people who exercise a lot need to consider the importance of fluid replacement. As was said in the second source, you lose more water in your body depending on how hot the temperature is and how intense the exercise is. According to Source B, the human body uses water to regulate body temperature. Therefore, it is better to stick to water.
Bottled water, more expensive choice than tap water for your houseplants, might improve the condition of your plants.Water from softeners often contains sodium (salt)in amounts that are harmful to houseplants.
Buying a case of bottled water every week at the store is something people do out of habit, however most people are not aware of how much plastic is piling up. Some people think that bottled water will not cause a problem if you dispose of the bottles correctly however, others think that they can hurt the environment even if you dispose of them properly. Environmentalists think bottles water should be banned because they are probably worse quality than your tap water, they can be very expensive, and they are very bad for the environment.
