Are they effective? Why or why not?
To the best of our knowledge, all of her leadership skills are undoubtedly effective, which are applicable in every part of her life: actress, producer, entrepreneur, etc. She cannot become one of the most influential women in the world or become “the second richest African-American” (Ganchrow, 2015) unless she owns powerful leadership skill.

What do/would her followers say about her? Oprah Winfrey turns herself as an unbeatable status when coming down to leadership and media and has a massive number of followers who trust her, get inspiration, courage for their lives. While admirable, there is one fault that she cannot simply solve alone, and that is her relationship with her father. Vernon Lee, though not her biological father, brought her up in her adolescence in Nashville, where a lot of her traits really bloomed, and the start of her career as she knew it, took off. (Tennant, 2017). As family are the people you cannot choose to be in your life or not, the weight of their relationship will always strain a little piece of Oprah herself. In her speeches, she is very well-spoken and strong for the people, but there are discreet signs of resentment, shown in how she will speak of her father—or not. Despite all the advice she can give out to others, it reflects on her as a woman and daughter and family member that she allegedly won't speak more than a few minutes on the phone with him. The topic is not often brought up (and always short of sweet if ever), and it discreetly takes a toll on her and her performance to shove such a phenomenal figure of her life under the rug. What skills could she develop or refine to become an even better leader? Even though Oprah Winfrey is a successful and an inspiring woman in many field, she had suffered from several difficulties in her life. Oprah Winfrey might be the best example of someone who turned adversity into strength and failure on to success. Her life began in some of the poorest conditions possible in American. She was born in 1905s in Mississippi by an unmarried teenage mother. She was abused from the age of 9, ran away from home at 13, became pregnant at 14 but her son was born prematurely, and he died shortly after birth. (Growth Strategies, 2008). Not only she suffered from her personal life but also her career when she started to step in. Oprah have a natural aptitude for media and majored in communications at Tennessee State after moving to live with father. After graduation, she had an opportunity to work on-air for a small station in Nashville. She was hired as a co-anchor of WJZ-TV in Baltimore in the evening news beside with veteran anchorman Jerry Turner. However, that was the first and worst failure of her career. She did not reach the public expectation. In addition, because of personal conflicts between her and Jerry Turner, thus it was not surprising that the show was unsuccessful.
