When Cleopatra Ruled Cleopatra ruled ancient Egypt for almost 30 years. Cleopatra could speak many languages to talk to different people around ancient Egypt. She was the last person to rule ancient Egypt at the time. Cleopatra ruled as a pharaoh and a queen after Ptolemy XII died. Ptolemy left the role of the pharaoh to Cleopatra and Ptolemy Xlll, soon after Ptolemy XII died Ptolemy Xlll and Cleopatra fell in love with each other and got married, that meant Cleopatra was a queen and a pharaoh.

Life Timeline Cleopatra was born January, 69 b.c. in Alexandria, Egypt. Cleopatra was the seventh girl in her dynasty to be named Cleopatra. Cleopatra was about 18 years old when she started to rule ancient Egypt. Ptolemy XII died, soon after Cleopatra became the queen and the pharaoh. Ptolemy left the position of the pharaoh to his son Ptolemy XIII and Cleopatra. Cleopatra married Ptolemy XIII after they were both left with the role of the pharaoh. People thought of her as a bad queen because of her affairs while she was the queen. Other people thought she wasn't a good queen because she didn't treat most of the people fairly/the same. Other people thought she was a good leader because she was a wise queen. Pharaoh
Cleopatra was known mainly as a queen, but she was BOTH a queen and a pharaoh. Cleopatra is known as an ok pharaoh, she is somewhat known as a bad leader because she was involved/had to do with a lot of deaths in ancient Egypt, but she was well known for keeping the people of ancient Egypt in check.
