Was Alexander the Great really a hero by killing and enslaving his citizens?
Alexander The Great was a king of ancient Greek kingdom Macedon. He ruled in many places, like in, Greece,Persia,and Egypt. Alexander ruled through 336-323 B.C. , only 13 years in office. He was known for being the greatest military geniuses of all time. Alexander the Great was a villain because he sold 20,000 people into slavery,he treated overthrown territories with cruelty, and Alexander took over many countries and he was still not satisfied.
Firstly, Alexander was a villain by selling more than 20,000 citizens into slavery. Alexander sold over 20,000 women and children plus killed the men. People thought he was very cruel to be doing such thing. Alexander was so anergy when he captured the city, he sold most of the city's 30,000 people into slavery. He did l People thought it was a ruthless thing for him to do. You can tell by now he was a bad king to his citizens and to other cities. He tried to make sure he was a top king and by today's standards that is not right.
Another example is In another battle, he and his troops ran after the retreating enemy and slaughtered nearly 40,000 men. While the men does dever justice,is slaughter the only way? Alexander could have dealt with that a different way or had mercy on them
