Recommended: Brief introduction of Walt Disney

Walt Disney has been dead for a long time, but his dream still stands as a beacon of hope for others who wish to pursue what seems to be an impossible dream to others. Disneyland was what he strived for and what he suffered for, it’s almost as inspirational as Walt himself. Walt Disney had to suffer through bankruptcy and losing ownership of his own character while also dealing with very real and relatable bouts of depression. and Walt persevered, he made his dream come true even when the odds were stacked against him and everyone told him that he couldn’t. In this essay I will be speaking about each one of these issues and how Walt managed them using quotes from biographies that are specifically about Walt’s life and struggles. I’ve been going to Disney Parks since I was a little girl, each trip was met with the kind of speechless awe and amazement that only comes with witnessing fantasy become reality. Younger me never knew what sort of stories preceded the construction of the so called ‘Happiest Place On Earth’; But Walt Disney was a very interesting man that went through a lot before he built his pride and joy, “Disneyland”. Walt Disney struggled with so much to make his dreams come through, and his life has ultimately taught me that no matter what happens I should never stop chasing my dream.

Walt became anxious about the state of his job, which was reasonable after suffering so many failures, but absurd due to the success of his Mickey Mouse cartoons. He became irritable and would snap at his coworkers and was uncooperative and unfocused during meetings. He was nothing like the fiery determined animator that survived the Laugh-O-Gram or the Oswald fiasco, but even the greats have their moments. Walt’s solution to this terrible issue, was to take a vacation with his wife. Once he returned he was refreshed and relaxed, he began work on the successful animated movie known as “Snow White”. As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety, this moment of Walt’s life made me a little emotional, and his solution makes a lot of sense.
