Walt Disney, the owner of Walt Disney Studios, was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He won 22 academic awards in his life time. Walt started in a small office in Los Angeles, California. After a few years of working he finally earned enough money to buy a bigger office. Later on he decided to start his own company, so he bought he own building and started there. “Disney attended McKinley High School in Chicago, where he took drawing and photography classes and was a contributing cartoonist for the school paper.” (www.studioservices.go.com,2017). Roy Disney assumed supervision of the project, and the park opened in 1971 to great success” (www.britannica.com, 2017) Walt Disney’s brother (Roy) carried the plans to finish Walt Disney World in 1971, “After his brother's death, Roy carried on the plans to finish the Florida theme park, which opened in 1971 under the name Walt Disney World.” (www.biography.com, 2017). A lot of more movies stared coming out and being a success, “The 1990s were a hugely successful decade for the Disney Company. The revival was heralded by the release of The Little Mermaid (1989), an animated feature regarded as Disney’s best such effort in more than 40 years. More animated blockbusters followed, including Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), and Fantasia 2000 (1999)” (www.britannica.com, 2017). They built a lot more Disney theme parks, “New Disney theme parks were opened in Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and DisneyQuests—indoor theme parks featuring interactive virtual-reality arcades—debuted in Orlando, Florida, and in Chicago” (www.britannica.com, 2017). Not only did they built Disney theme parks, but they also added a Disney Cruise Line, “The Disney Magic, the first ship in the Disney Cruise Line, was launched on July 30, 1998, and offered vacation packages to the Caribbean islands” (www.britanna.com, 2017). “In addition to the long-running Disney Channel cable network, broadcasting interests were expanded to include the ABC network, the ESPN sports cable network, and Radio Disney” ( www.britannica.com, 2017).
