Our home (the earth) contains many interesting features and activities which makes many interested individuals seek research, explanations, and answers. With a curious mind and years of research many different people have been able to explain and even answer many of the earth’s mysteries. It is a shame that many brilliant minds have died before sharing their discoveries or reaching the answer of their life long work. With a lack of technology and evidence many great ideas have been rejected and ignored.
Alfred Wagner is one individual who died with his dreams when he shared his theory of Continental drift in the early 20th century and was rejected by the scientific community of the time. He concluded that the continents moved across the earth’s
surface through time and that there was once a super continent which he named Pangea. With a lack of evidence he was ridiculed by many. But later in the 1950s, his theory of Continental drift along with Harry Hess’s Theory of Sea floor spreading (which explained the formation of new areas of oceanic crust), and known information on global seismicity; Wagner’s vision and knowledge not only helped reinforce the Theory of Plate Tectonics but was also recognized for his valid theory. The Theory of Plate Tectonics proclaims that the lithosphere consists of plates that converge, diverge, and transform, which explains the formation of oceans, mountain ranges, and seismic activity. Converging plates push against each other, Diverging plates move away from each other, and Transforming plates slide closely past each other. Each plate is named according to their nearest location that being a landmass or body of water. The different plates explain the addition of different land features and the cause of different seismic activities. For example the Appalachian Mountains were formed by the collision of the North American and African Plates and the Himalaya Mountains were formed by the subduction of the Indian Plate under The Eurasian Plate. There are three different types of plates and each type of plate is well known to cause some type of feature or activity. Just to name a few; Diverging plates are well known to create oceanic floor made of basalt, an example of a diverging plate is the African and Arabian plate boundary. Next, Converging Plates create mountain ranges and trenches an example of a converging plate is the Eurasian and Indian plate boundary. Lastly, Transforming plates create earthquakes an example being the Pacific and Australian boundary or the San Andreas Boundary. Although some land features are added and others are still growing, some land features are slowly in the process of destruction. Projections of plate motion conclude that portions of California will separate from North America and The Italian “boot” will disappear. The rate of plate tectonic movement also causes a change in the Rock Cycle .The Rock cycle is the process of the formation, breakdown, and reformation of rocks creating Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic rocks. Sedimentary rocks are formed at earth’s surface. Igneous rocks form from cooling and crystallization of molten magma. Metamorphic rocks form from heat and pressure in the earth’s crust. The rate of plate motion is directly related to the production of all types of rocks. With that being said, the higher the rate of plate tectonic movement the higher the production of all three types of rocks as well as the lower the rate of plate tectonic movement the lower the production of all three types of rock. From the super continent Pangea, to now the seven continents (Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica), to the many continents predicted to break off or disappear. Plate tectonics explains the features and activities of the earth from the past, the present and it can definitely predict the future features and activities.

Throughout the years, scientists have debated and quarreled over their findings, observations and theories for the most correct model of the composition and internal structure of the Earth.
ABSTRACT: Richard Wagner always represented for Nietzsche the Germany of that time. By examining Nietzsche's relationship to Wagner throughout his writings, one is also examining Nietzsche's relationship to his culture of birth. I focus on the writings from the late period in order to clarify Nietzsche's view of his own project regarding German culture. I show that Nietzsche created a portrait of Wagner in which the composer was a worthy opponent-someone with whom he disagreed but viewed as an equal. Wagner was such an opponent because he represented the disease of decadence which plagued the culture and from which Nietzsche suffered for a time, but of which he also cured himself. In other words, Nietzsche emphasized his overcoming and revaluation of Wagner because he wanted his readers to understand it as a metaphor for his larger battle with decadence in general. The goal of this portraiture is to demonstrate on an individual level what could be done on a cultural level to revitalize culture. Through an analysis of Nietzsche's portrait of Wagner in the late period, I will claim that in order to understand Nietzsche's revaluation of decadent values in nineteenth century German culture, one must understand his relationship with the composer.

For example, Portugal, northern Iran, and Japan, all located at about the same latitude but lying successively 4,000 miles east or west of each other, are more similar to each other in climate than each is to a location lying even a mere 1,000 miles due south." This line tells us why Eurasia was able to develop so fast. That is because it has an east to west axes which means animals and crops can more wildly thought the same land due to there being large amounts of land with the same latitude. While the Americas

In the story A Wagner Matinee there is a man, Clark, who lives in Boston who receives word from his Aunt Georgiana who is coming to visit from Nebraska to settle an estate. When his aunt, Georgiana, had been younger she had been a very talented music teacher and she had been the one you introduced him to Shakespeare, the music that she played on her small parlor organ, and classic mythology. When she left she had to give up music and that is one thing that she despised. “It never really dies, then the soul? It withers to the outward eye only.” Georgiana then met a man and they proceeded to move out to Nebraska and he lost contact with her. One day he received word that she was coming back and Clark decided to take her out to a concert because she had not been around music in so long and she forgot how much she loved music. In the story A Wagner Matinee by Willa Cather, you realize the hardship that a lot of people went though while on the frontier and then how people in Boston lived a more promising life.

Germany 1912, scientist Alfred Wegener Had thought about a theory that could have changed the world. Wegener had the idea of Plate tectonic and the Continental drift. When the idea was first presented, people thought he was out of his mind. He was criticized for what he thought. Soon after him releasing his idea, it was accepted. Wegener then started to understand the earth and the theory of pangea.

Thomas Kuhn, one of the most widely recognized contributors to the discipline of the philosophy of science, raises the argument within The Structure of Scientific Revolutions that advancement within the field of science occurs in a revolutionary manner as opposed to one more progressive or cumulative. Kuhn makes the observation that scientific research is conducted cumulatively where every piece of evidence contributes towards gradually understanding a specific scientific phenomenon (Kuhn, 96). However, lasting scientific advancement only transpires when previously accepted scientific theories are overturned with entirely different, more suitable theories. Kuhn makes reference to the Copernican Heliocentric model as an instance to validate his assertion (Forster). Applying Kuhn’s argument to this revolutionary theory will provide clarity and further understanding necessary to demonstrate how this philosophical approach can be applicable towards relatively modern scientific theories such as plate tectonics.
The Ring Cycle, also known as “ Der Ring des Nibelungen” was written by a German composer named Richard Wagner. This cycle contains four epic operas. It took Wagner about 26 years to write this opera. He started in 1848 and finished in 1874. The entire opera is based loosely on Germanic mythology and also influenced on Wagner's concepts of ancient Greek drama.

He takes axel who was reluctant and tried to talk him out of with him and along the way he meets with Hans whom was suggested to them. He joins them on this trip to the center of the earth in order to figure out the code and to find unknown spices and many other things. On this journey many obstacles came and one by one somehow they group seemed to over come them. When in reality many of this things they faced are impossible to get to yet overcome. I discovered that even though most of Verne's ideas about what the interior of the earth contains have since been disproved with different fictional sciences the book still manages to include science fiction and real geography.
At the very dawning of the science of historical geology, James Hutton developed views on the earth’s geologic processes and ow they affect the planet unlike any other scientist before him. His idea that the planet’s processes revolved in a cyclic fashion were the cornerstone of uniformitarianism. Although he did not coin the phrase himself, an honor bestowed upon William Whewell, he did form the basic idea that the history of the earth can be explained by what is happening now.
