Never Forgetting Volleyball Camp For some, the summer coming to a close is devastating but for my friends and I the fun has just begun. Last summer I had decided I wanted to play high school volleyball, in which means that I really need to go to open gyms and the big volleyball camp that the whole team goes to in order to prepare for the season. The volleyball camp this year was at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) the camp was a 4 day camp and we got to stay in the dorms. Being able to stay in the dorms and have some freedom was really exciting for Adrianna, Emma, Emma and I, since we have never done anything like that before. But it was kind of nerve racking because all of the sophomore girls told us how bad the camp at LSSU (Lake …show more content…
After that we did some more then our pool time was over and we had started to walk back and then we meet up with coach Doubek and she had bunch of team bonding games set up. We got into our dorm floor groups and we played a bunch of games and my team ended up winning and when we headed back everyone came into my dorm area and we all hang out and played music and just talked. It started to get very emotional since it was the seniors last team camp, all of them started crying and that was when i realized that high school is going to go by so fast and that I need to enjoy it all of it even the bad. The next day everyone had packed up their things and we went to practice and did a mini tournament which my team did really well in, after that we went back to the dorms and went to the parking lot and meet our parents and left. Just like that my first team volleyball camp was all over. This experience of going to SVSU was so very beneficial and it really made me look on life and made me think about how I need to stop rushing things cause soon it will all be over in a blink of an eye. This experience had really taught me a lot about volleyball not just new skills but about the game and how to play it even better. I will always remember going
Ever experienced cheer camp a famous college? Surround by its famous color orange and blue? Well, I did! A tremendous amount of people have their different ideas an exciting experience in their life. Although out of all of the exciting experiences I’ve ever experienced , I would have to say my favorite is when I visited The University of Florida for cheer camp my sophomore year. I was overly excited about spending four days at The University of Florida; I stayed up all night the night before packing and getting ready to finally stay at a college for four days with my fellow cheer sisters. From that experience I learned a lot about sticking together as a team, and friendship! But, most importantly, I learned that bonding together as a team is what got us to finish strong at the end. Those four days really opened my eyes to a lot of different things and I’m glad I can say that I really enjoyed myself.
The Rockstar Athletics All-Star Cheer Gym is one of the most important communities I have been affiliated with throughout my lifetime. Rockstar Athletics touches many cities with children, mainly young girls, within 15-45 minutes of the gym's location. Rockstar Athletics has held countless number of clinics for all ages and the cheer gym as a whole has attended multiple parades in cities surrounding the home gym in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The gym also attends multiple competitions around the United States, my favorite The Summit in Orlando, Florida. Our team received a select bid for the first time in the coaches 15 year history this past spring and were honored to represent our
On average 35 million children play youth sports each season and 85% of coaches are parents coaching their own kids. Whether basketball, soccer, baseball, or softball; furthermore, involves players, parents, referees, and a ball; additionally, if it is played as a game, in a tournament, is practiced, it will require a coach. This single figurehead will often be the deciding factor as to the level of satisfaction everyone involved receives from the experience. Coaching youth sports can be a balancing act between developing good players and cultivating great kids.
After that we went over to our bench the bench we sat o was green and white these benches change color according to your team's color. There are 9 people on the field at once from each team 4 attack 4 defence and 3 middie we played U of M it wa fun we destroyed them 91 0 biggest game differential ever! The game is different but is still a lot the same like i told you we were dressed now and are allowed to hit people like in boys lacrosse we don't wear pads though just goggles are gloves are required now. No extending elbows or limbs still. I sent a girl to the hospital i broke her arm. I scored 15 goals and had an awesome time. The goal turns into a star after you score and a rainbow appears. After the game we signed papers and digraphs. After the game me and Emma were tired so we went back to the dorm, and ordered a pizza. The pizza man came and he wore this weird thing it was an apron but it had squirty bottles to clean it off. The pizza guy's truck was the one with the oven and cooler it looks awesome emma said that they have them everywhere. We ordered dr. pepper that came in a 4 liter it was cool we drank it all and then we went to bed watching a movie( it was a double throwback for back to the future). As i fell into a deep sleep i saw the monkey
All throughout high school I played on the softball team. Proceeding the season before where we went undefeated with a district championship, my senior year we were supposed to be unstoppable. We received a few new players to add on to our army and the entire school was counting on our run to state. I was so excited to have an amazing end to my high school softball career, but unfortunately my dream was cut short when we lost in the first round of districts. I did not know that loss would change me the way it did.
It 's the day before my last high school varsity basketball game as a senior… Wow four years went by this fast who would have imagined this day would have came. All day I was thinking about the season ending. This game meant everything to me, it wasn 't any ordinary game. It 's a section game! Win or go home.. With it being my last high school game I wanted to close the chapter knowing I gave it my all. Practice was probably the most intense it 's ever been for me. Emotions were flaring and we were all on the grind.
Youth sports can be a learning experience or it can be a health risk to the athletes. Youth sports can teach young children the value of hard work and discipline or it can be emotionally and physically damaging. Three main points are how sports keep you healthy, how they build character, and the values that they will learn from sports and how they will use in the future. These three ideas prove that youth sports can be healthy, they build character, and can teach them the value of hard work and discipline for your kid.
As freshmen, we realized the athletic competition was better, and there was multiple different clubs we could join. The classes we could take got harder, and we had just switched to a one-to-one curriculum, so this meant everyone received a laptop. This is also when I set my goal of keeping a 4.0 GPA all throughout high school. These were opportunities I did not think about when I first found out I was moving. The clubs and the sports gave my classmates and myself a chance to make friends with the three grades above us. Our class slowly drifted apart as we branched out and made new friends in different grades. Our sophomore and junior year was similar to my freshman year. We stayed in our different groups as we continued to explore our interests. Junior year came along with many different changes. Because there were very few senior girl athletes, the junior class had the opportunity to take the role as leaders on the court and on the field. Underclassmen looked up to the juniors for leadership and advice. This opportunity helped change me as a person. I had to show the underclassmen what hard work looked like, and what it took to be successful. This opportunity also made me realize how hard I had to work if I wanted to continue to be successful in athletics and eventually play college volleyball. My junior year also provided my classmates and I with the opportunity to take
The problems that you hear about high school football are not made up and they happen at almost every school. It is hard to get away from but at my school everything was three times harder. You would think we could catch a break but we never did. We were so bad that we even lost to a team who had a smaller roster than we did. If you ever played football you would know how hard it would be to go through the hard times that I did. But, it is not the end of the world. Everyone says high school is the best time of your life, which is true, but once it is over everything seems to get better because the high school drama is over. I was so glad to have ended my senior year because now that I am in college I do not have to worry about the hard times I went through. Always cherish the good times but never forget the bad times because if you do not learn from the hard times them history will repeat
Coach calls bunt ,but I still hit dingers. Although I don’t like school, I live for high school softball because our games, after school practices, and my friends/teammates. Furthermore, my favorite thing about high school's softball!
It was really bad, when my second club year came around it got progressively worse. Sophomore year was my ultimate low, the coach didn’t know how to do his job, and would have us do the same drills everyday. I got so angry that year, from him and myself, I was so close to quitting volleyball forever. But, one imbecile who didn’t know how to play volleyball didn’t stop me there, I kept going into my third club season. I worked had, still struggling with the inability to let mistakes go. After, a decent season a club with my friends, it was junior year, and my time to get on
This research task requires that, through participation in skill learning and game play during the volleyball unit we have been required to observe and analyse the characteristics of skilled performers; receive feedback on weaknesses in technique and develop and participate in training activities that could correct these weaknesses.
Does it ever upset you when a person, who doesn’t play your sport, says that it is easy? As a person that plays volleyball for fun and competitively, some people might think that volleyball is effortless for me. Volleyball is a hard sport that requires a lot of focus and pain tolerance. Volleyball is game for two teams with 6 players, in which a volleyball is hit with your hands/arms over a high net. By making the ball reach the ground of the opponent’s side scores points.
I was devastated when I was cut from the team. Volleyball was my life; I absolutely loved the sport. How could they do this to me? Everyone told me things would turn out fine, but how did they know? A close friend of mine wrote me a letter stating, “I know that right now it is hard to accept the paths that God has chosen for us, but I am sure whatever you decide to do with what has been thrown in your way you can surpass everyone else”.
It finally dawned on me that this was my final first day as a high school student. The years flew by so fast. As I made my way to the top step of the school bus, I was greeted with a warm smile and a simple good morning from my bus driver. Shorty after that, I walked towards my seat. The bus ride was extremely aggravating. Children were jumping up and down in their seats as if they were kangaroos, middle school boys were flicking simply green boogers everywhere, and the middle school girls were going on and on about there new boy crush. As for me, I just stared out the window and reminisced about the good ole '
