For a cause greater than oneself, even death can be worth the pain. The book talks about when Harry was one-year old Voldemort came to his house to kill him. Harry’s father tried to hold Voldemort off without a want in attempt an attempt to let his wife and Harry get away. “Lily, take Harry and go! It’s him! Go! Run! I’ll hold him off (343)!” In that same time Harry’s mother sacrificed herself and saved Harry by giving him the oldest form of magic, love. Close to the end of the book, Dumbledore, tells Harry, “You are protected in short, by your ability to love!” In the end of the book there is a big battle at Hogwarts. Everyone who decides to stay at Hogwarts during the war between Voldemort is showing sacrifice. They are not inclined to stay at anywhere when a madman is attacking, but they do stay. When the probability of the good guys winning was at its lowest; these people stayed to fight. Each and every one of them knows the risks of death but are still willing to help Harry defeat Voldemort. Yet another example, is of Harry himself. Harry learns that the only way to kill Voldemort is to die himself. Harry goes to where Voldemort is waiting and dies willingly with the hope that another will kill Voldemort after. Voldemort is still at large and grasping control of the Ministry of Magic. If the Horcruxes are not found and destroyed soon, Voldemort will grow too powerful to ever be stopped. As well as many of the other questions that Ron, Harry, and Hermione have to answer, there is a very looming one that is no matter to take lightly. The question of Dumbledore. Was he just some old fool as Uncle Vernon suggested, or is he the man of legend everyone thinks him to be?
