There are many types of violence in the world today. Ranging from physical to verbal to hurt and threat people. Violence is the number one reason for deaths and bath relations in the world. It has been a problem for many centuries and there is no way that this will end any time soon. Suicide , murder and physical abuse are 3 examples of real world violence that occurred in Romeo and Juliet and still exist this very moment.
First one being Suicide, being is one of the top 10 leading deaths in America and is very common among teenagers and young adults like Romeo and Juliet. In the beginning, there was a huge brawl between the 2 families in the streets. As well as, there was a duel between Benvolio and Tybalt, Romeo and Tybalt, and Paris and Romeo which also adds to the murder example because Benvolio died to Tybalt then Romeo killed Tybalt then after some time Romeo killed Paris. In the world today, murder is very common in the world today because people think to solve each others problems is to get rid of them which happened a lot in the story. In Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet was abusing his daughter because she wasn’t going to marry Paris. Compared to the world today, children and even the spouse don't obey there commands. Usually the father, tend to beat them and make them feel superior and powerful and hope to enforce that he/she is the boss of the house and do what they say. Towards the very end, a suicide death occurred between both Romeo and Juliet over each others death even though they weren't actually dead before they died. Suicide is a very leading death in America and possibly around the world where teenagers like Romeo and Juliet kill themselves because they think they have lost everything and can no where near come back from this
In the Shakespearean play, Romeo & Juliet, aggression is represented in different ways by the different characters in the play. Tybalt, Romeo, Benvolio, and the others all have their own way of dealing with hate and anger. Some do nothing but hate while others can’t stand to see even the smallest of quarrels take place.
Conflict has many different meanings for both physical and verbal abuse. Conflict could be a viscous feud or a full on physical fight. These days in television soap dramas we intend to see more verbal conflict than physical violence. But over the last couple of years new television programmes have been released which contains a lot of action-packed fighting and physical conflict of some kind. Some programmes include physical and verbal conflict including, “Eastenders”, “The Bill” and other programmes similar to these. The releasing of films such as, “Indiana Jones”, and “Rambo” catches the audience’s attention by involving action-packed, exciting features such as heavy arguments or thrilling battles. Some films are made to include action and excitement but when audiences watch it they cannot help feeling sorry for the victim or just generally sad for the people having the fight. In the same way Romeo and Juliet presents conflict more intense than most soap dramas. When the play was first performed in “The Theatre”, in Shoreditch in the mid 1590’s, the Elizabethan audience was shocked at how Juliet disobeyed her father and also how Romeo and Juliet disobeyed their families. Sympathy must be felt for the audience because they would have never known the idea of a son or daughter disobeying their father. The law at that time stated that the daughter was the property of her father until the daughter got married then her husband “owned” her as property. From this sympathy must be felt for Juliet because she is a victim of arranged marriages.
