In every story, characters face challenges and obstacles that come there way. Typically they are overcome and the stories continue. In the video, The Panyee Football Club, the characters live on an island and are poor. They also have little resources and like any story, face challenges along the way. This true story was about a group of boys who wanted to start a football team. In the Panyee Football video, the characters learn that you should follow your passion and never give up, they show this when they built a pitch using teamwork so they could practice for the game, also by not letting the villagers stop them and bring their hopes down, and persevering in the soccer game. The learned this when they worked together as a team during the Pangha Cup football tournament. In the video, it stated, “Once we got going, we realized we were better than we thought. Our skills had developed nicely on the wooden pitch...And the big goals were a much easier target than our little ones. We made it to the semifinal.” This part of the story shows hard work and determination because in the video the boys kept persevering and working hard. The boys never gave up and kept going and going. Also, the boys used teamwork like when they built the pitch. They passed the ball when they needed to but they faced another challenge. In the video, it stated, “The semi started badly. It was raining heavily and the other team was really good. Our boots filled with water… which slowed us down a lot. The other team was two up by halftime.” After this, the boys had an idea to take off their shoes and play like this. The video said, “So we got rid of our wet boots. Playing in bare feet was more comfortable for all of us… We scored two goals and evened the score.” This part of the story shows determination and hard work because the boys were very determined to win the game. Another reason why it shows this is when they took off their shoes to help. Taking off their shoes shows hard work because the boys really wanted this game to turn around, which did happen.
