The complexity and diversity of the animal kingdom has always captivated me. This has resulted in a desire to accomplish a place in Veterinary Nursing. This aspiration has it’s origins in an early family life occupied with animals and pets, a developing interest in the science and wellbeing of animals and an expanding sense of duty for the care we owe to the creatures which convey true companionship and loyalty. Work experience and volunteering has taught me to recognise and appreciate the ‘guardian’ roles performed by the veterinarian and veterinary nurse which has served to increase my determination to pursue a career in a field which has an everlasting effect on animal companionship and welfare, as well as human industry, community and
health. A degree in Veterinary Nursing is the only route I wish to pursue. I am aware of the challenges posed by this vocation such as requiring a willingness to carry out unpleasant tasks, possessing a sympathetic and tactful approach when dealing with upset or anxious owners and to ensure that owners are educated and supported to improve their pet’s quality of life preventing any unnecessary suffering. I feel that there is great satisfaction to be gained from working in animal welfare as there is a great sense of achievement. I am currently studying Advanced Higher English alongside Higher Biology, Maths and Administration. I prioritise my workload efficiently and effectively enabling me to lead an organised and healthy life. I volunteered as a prefect from S4-S5 and I am now the dedicated role of Deputy Head Girl. I have fully immersed myself in this role by working with my fellow peers and teachers ensuring that the school is running smoothly. During my work experience at numerous places such as kennels, horse stables and a Veterinary Clinic I have learned a colossal amount of skills.
Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are not limited to, a high job outlook, great room for advancement, and only two years of schooling (depending on the route you take). Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.
My interest in and understanding of the field of veterinary science has only been heightened with the time I have spent on various valuable work experience placements over recent years, especially during the four weeks in small and mixed animal practices in England, Wales, and Ireland. Spending time in these four very different practices allowed me to observe a wide range of routine and emergency

“The most successful Veterinary Technicians are passionate about the animals that they see on a daily basis and be able to control their emotions” (Career Cruising). The care of animals is very important so they don’t feel threatened by the Veterinary Technician and claw, bite, or growl at them. Veterinary Technicians must show their love of animals to the patients and their owners. many animals will feel the emotions that people give off and the animal can react to that emotion in a good or in a bad case bad. A Vet Technicians job is to be calm and not show emotions to the patient and family so the family won’t have emotional distress towards the clinic.
When owners take their pets to the clinic, they are understandably anxious about the results and outcome of the visit. While it’s the veterinarian's job to provide care for the animal, it’s also their job to put the owners at ease, reassuring them that their pet will indeed be fine. This communication is vital for building trust, as it lets the owner know what is happening to their animal and gives them confidence in believing that everything will be okay. What’s more, veterinarians that take the time to thoroughly explain procedures and instructions regarding petcare, are teaching pet owners how to better tend to their
Many people have lost their pets and close family members because there is no way to get the help or medical attention that the animal so desperately needed. Every day in the United States, veterinarians are working hard to save animal’s lives. People will always continue to want and to breed pets. Therefore, to help and cure all these pets, a steady stream of veterinarians will be needed for many years to come. Over the years, the requirements and processes to becoming a veterinarian have changed. To become a successful veterinarian one must complete all necessary education and on the job training, be friendly and love animals, and have a burning passion to help both the pet and the pet owner.
In one way or another, I have been taking care of animals my entire life. Growing up, I was completely dedicated to animals, caring for what could be considered a mini zoo. Naturally, as a child, I was set on a career as a veterinarian. Like most children, I was naive about the veterinary profession, but I had plenty of people to warn me about its challenges. Albeit initially discouraged from becoming a veterinarian, my search for a meaningful career not only revived my spark for veterinary medicine but also gave me the maturity and experience necessary to succeed in it.
Animals have long been part of human lives serving many purposes from companionship or serve purposes in healthcare history. Pets provide a valuable companionship for older adults and help people grow up in a more secure and active life, as well as playing an important role in the health of a person. Equine veterinarians inspire others by working long hours in dangerous conditions and sticking with them until the patient is in good health.
As the animals are being passed out, the patients begin smiling, laughing, and talking to the animals. They stroke their coats, play with them, and feed them snacks that they have saved for this occasion. While the patients are interacting with other students and staff, two of the students begin making notes on the activities that are taking place in the room. The patients, staff, and students are clearly enjoying themselves, but there are greater benefits to be found here. Research has been done in the area of human-animal companionship and security, and stress management.
Being accountable to me as a professional is saying yes to the call and responsibility we have to bear out. It is a responsibility we take for ourselves and for others who rely on us to be present in any situations. The mission requires an openness to relationship with others. The consistency of performing at a higher level each time the job is done and strive to give all for the greatest good. In collaboration with others involved. That bond can strengthen when everyone involved intersect their effort to the same purpose. The skills acquired over the years as a bedside nurses give me an opportunity to be dependable and trustworthy. Knowing what to do in difficult situations and being intuitive is a plus. It can help in a managerial position
A bijou mammals with plush fur and honed claws, or cats, is one of my fundamental priority. Aside from cats, family and school is also important to me. My interests for the moment is animals rights. I try to help the abused animals by spreading the word of animal cruelty and help make a difference. Hanging out with my cats are my uppermost hobby. Besides cats, I take pleasure in reading and adore sleeping.
I entered the center completely unprepared for the level of education and hard work that the center demanded, but thrived knowing that I was helping heal animals in peril (many of whom were there directly because of human actions). After many hours of feeding, cage cleaning, and handling dangerous patients, I felt as though I had learned as much from the animals as I had my teachers. However, I also found myself frustrated more often than not when I found a limit to my ability to aid animals. There is no worse feeling than knowing that an animal urgently needs care that you are unable to provide. This feeling encouraged me to further my education in animal care, so that I can be the best caretaker possible for animals in
Physicians and veterinarians are able to help individuals with problems and diseases. But with public health, one would be enabled to help both humans and animals on a large scale, even at global level. Today, I firmly believe Public Health is one of the most crucial aspects of Medicine. It, indeed, can help prevent and bring solutions to health issues like no other field. Furthermore Veterinary Public Health is the most right choice for me. With the knowledge I gain in the Veterinary Public Health specialization (VPH) as an option within the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program, I would be able to fulfil my dreams of striving for a healthy society. My passion, academic background, work experience, and cultural competency will contribute to the student body and graduate Veterinary Public Health
Trust was a must when dealing with any animal; if he or she lacked trust in you, you could say goodbye to progress. Patience became a well-known skill when teaching and training young animals along with riding students. When I think about my future, I cannot imagine living without equine affiliation or the company of any four-legged friend. In knowing this, I plan to study equine science and pre-vet at Morrisville State College in Morrisville, New York. After a year of pre-requisites and bookwork, I hope to move towards equine rehabilitation.
