There are three major forms of social perspectives, symbolic interactionism, structural-functionalism, and conflict theory. Symbolic interactionalism leads people to acknowledge the symbols and details of everyday life, what these symbols signify, and how each person interacts with one another. Structural-functionalism which is also known as the "consensus theory." With this form of social perspective, people can attempt to identify the structure of society and how they function. This form of perspective stresses that relations among the individuals, groups, and societies go after well-defined patterns of social organization. It also accentuates stability, harmony, and evolution. The last form of perspective is conflict theory which addresses the point of stress and conflict in society and the way in which they commit to social change. Society is not based on solidarity or social consensus; however, it is based on competition.
