Last summer my friends and I packed up and took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The excitement of the strip and the relaxation of the beach allured me to this particular vacation spot. If you are looking for an entertaining and relaxing way to spend the hot days of summer, Myrtle Beach has plenty to offer.
Myrtle Beach stretches up the coast of South Carolina and North Carolina. The drive takes approximately six hours from East Tennessee State University. Our trip during the summer made for a great vacation, the temperature stayed between the 80’s and 90’s, perfect sun tanning weather. The friendly smiles and southern hospitality mixed well with the warm climate.
Teenagers and young adults occupy Myrtle Beach more than any other group. Senior week, the first week in June, gives both high school and college students a chance to have fun and meet new people. Although the attractions target this particular group most everyone can find something of interest. The most popular section would be the oceanfront drive that is commonly referred to as the strip. The strip contains surf shops like Wings and small restaurants serving anything from pizza to seafood. Modest hotels take up a majority of the strip. The Budget Inn, where my friends and I stayed during our trip, is located near the center of the action on the strip. The main attraction of the strip, to teenagers, begins around 11:00 pm when all the clubs open and the streets fill with teens and young adults looking for something to do. The popular nightclubs can be found near the center of the strip. The club’s popularity shows with the lines of people waiting to proceed into the action. The cover charges for the popular nightclubs like Freaky Tiki and Xanadu run about ...

After a long day at the beach and a delicious meal at the River City Café, my friends and I find a putt-putt golf course for a "friendly" competition. We often go to Caption Hokes Adventure course. The appropriately decorated course has great effects to give you the full experience. After a game of putt-putt, we are ready for the nightlife that Myrtle Beach has become famous for. The nightclubs and streets fill with fun-loving teens and young adults. The nightlife of Myrtle makes the fun and exciting trip an experience you will never forget.
Myrtle Beach has always been a popular vacation spot, particularly for teenagers, and gains in popularity every year. The variety of attractions, hotels and restaurants make Myrtle Beach an ideal resort town for teens and young adults. I recommend Myrtle Beach to anyone looking for a fun filled, relaxing vacation.
Picture a beautiful city surrounded by tall skyscrapers soaring into the clouds and the beautiful statue of liberty standing still on the water. You walk down the street passing hundreds of little shops and restaurants, all the while you are taken a back by the breathtaking beauty of the city that you are gazing upon. Now picture laying on the beach at sunset listening to the ocean waves. The air is crisp and the smell of saltwater is bitter sweet. The locations I’m describing are New York City and Myrtle Beach. I have 2500 dollars to take on vacation to one of these destinations and I am comparing and contrasting the two. I will be considering the cost of travel, food, hotel, and also activity and miscellaneous expenses.
I have been to Florida a billion times, but there are only two places that I normally visit. Sanibel Island and Destin. Traveling to Sanibel Island is almost like a tradition for my family because every year we try to go down there. My grandparents first went to Sanibel with my whole family (cousins and all) about 15 years ago and ever since then, it has been our family’s main “vacation spot”. I have gone to Sanibel almost every year, but last year I also went to Destin. Now the main reason we decided to go there as well is because we wanted to travel somewhere nearby the panhandle of Florida. The water and beaches are also very contrasting in comparison to Sanibel. Sanibel’s beaches even had heaps of sea shells going out into the water. The sand is also more dense than that of Destin. Even Sanibel’s water is darker and more cloudy, so it was crazy to see Destin’s water so clear! The beach (which is called Emerald Cove, where I stayed at) had sand that was so white and soft it
The nightclub, is an aged small wood structure in Rhode Island. The club is reported to have a capacity of 182 people. On February 20th 2003, more then 400 fans packed into the small club to see a band. Although there are discrepancies between reports of how many people were in attendance, it is obvious that the number is well over twice the club's capacity.
Choosing a vacation destination can be difficult. When deciding a destination there are many things to consider. Two of the most important considerations are the climate, and activities that are available. California is one of the top destinations for many people. California is also known as the “Sunshine State”. The beautiful state has many things to offer for families, couples, and singles. The top places that are visited in Southern California include many amusements and popular site seeing. A few top places are Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Hollywood Boulevard, and Catalina Island. These are a few of the top attractions in Southern California. Ultimately where you choose to visit will be a personal choice.
From its geographic location, socio-economic background, and cultural expressions, this little neighborhood expresses the “mellow” aspect of surf, shopping, and living in the shadow of American culture. The Christmas parades and other various events held annually, along with the many shops that describe commercial success perfectly encircles both history of Belmont Shore and very well represents what it takes to be an outstanding American
California’s most ravishing views must be its coastline. There are amazing, refined, long stretches of beaches that offer a wide variety of sceneries. Beautiful white sand coming from Santa Monica, Long Beach and Big Sur. All types of people from the state of California to people from Florida enjoy California beaches. Some even like to hang loose and surf on the waves coming off the coast. Incredible evenings make families in California come together to watch the sun set. Florida beaches are not just well known in the USA but all around the world. Beaches that come to mind are Miami, Clearwater, and Sarasota beach. Miami beach is considered one of the “sexiest beaches in America.” With all the parties thrown on the beach, spring break is a local one stop for students that are coming out of Miami University. Clearwater beach, years ago, was ranked as the number one beach on the planet, with its white powdery sand and super clear water. Sarasota beach is quiet, and one can hear the natural crashing of the waves hitting the shore that sooths anybody trying to relax and enjoy their

Transformed from a spring break party attraction to a family-oriented vacation hotspot seemed an easy switch for this area. Ranking number one on USA Today’s 10Best list for beaches and romantic things to do, Fort Lauderdale Beach is just down the coast from Sea Ranch Lakes. And, these sands host plenty of family-friendly activities to keep everyone smiling.
One of the best vacation spots and most fun are down the shore in Wildwood, New Jersey. Wildwood consists of a boardwalk with tons of rides and fun, a beach with a beautiful ocean, and little summerhouses with ocean-side views. The best attractions though would probably be located on the boardwalk. There are so many things to see and do. Although it’s rather costly, it’s well worth it and it’s a great place for a family to share quality time together.
Atlanta and Miami are both amazing places for vacation because they both have great entertainment, culture, and food. Miami and Atlanta are very different because Miami has many more attractions, an amazing nightlife, and beautiful beaches and Atlanta has a small amount of attractions, nice nightlife, and good weather.
South Carolina stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Blue Ridge Mountains, containing 31,113 square miles. Fortieth in geographic area among the fifty states, it ranks twenty-sixth in population. The Palmetto State's four million citizens value its rich history, a legacy that is a prime factor in making tourism one of the state's largest industries.
Hong Kong has always remained a very unique city, one which is said to have ‘a Western past, an Eastern future’. Since its colonisation by the British in the 1860s, it has maintained to a very large extent its Chinese identity and its connection to its Motherland, while at the same time, has frequent contact with the Western world, politically, economically, and culturally. Hong Kong’s unique position has made the city a vibrant international metropolis that acts as a bridge between East and West. Yet after it was returned to China in 1997, this former British colony has been constantly reassessing its British past, struggling to find its new position and redefining its identity.
The antiquities market is a system that has always been met with resistance, especially among those within the scholarly community of archaeologists. Many archaeologists and scholars have argued against this market, stating that it is a detriment to archaeology. On the other side, those in favor of this market have provided reasons to show why they believe it to be a solid system. Both sides have their merit in regards to this controversial issue. However, when looking at the antiquities market as a whole, it has shown to be an effective system that can actually work hand in hand with the scholarly community, rather than against it. The key takeaway from the antiquities market is that it helps to preserve the past, something which all archaeologists strive to achieve.

A paradigm shift in the way the international community perceives cultural heritage at risk during armed conflict is occurring simultaneously with the current changes of war. ‘War has exposed historic monuments and works of art to two principal dangers: the danger arising out of the practice of taking spoils during or at the close of hostilities, and the danger of destruction from acts of war, especially artillery action and aerial bombardment.’1 Cultural heritage has been in peril from as early as 395 BC when the Romans looted works of art at the sack of Veii, to the fanatic iconoclasm in AD 391 under Emperor Theodosius I who ordered the destruction of all pagan temples, such as the Temple of Serapis in Alexandria. During the Italian Campaigns
