The overall results from these experiments showed that university student are sleep deprived, due to assignments deadlines, staying up late at nights to study and the importance of achieving good grades. Most of the students did not function optimally during the day, since they did not get the require amount of sleep, which was eight hours. Some of them were falling asleep during class, struggling to stay focus, and were unable to retain information that they need to know. Some of the participants hypothesized that they were sleep deprived and their hypothesis was supported based on their result.

of the six participant hypothesized that they are sleep deprived, five individuals stated that during the day they are tired, five students had dreamt and five participant average of sleep was under eight hours. Some differences from this experiment are: one individual stated that she was not sleep deprived, one participant did not dream during the four days, and two participant could not recall their dreams. The results indicated that five persons had dreamt, and only two could not remember what they had dreamt. It is not understood why people have dreams or why some persons can remember what they had dreamt, while others cannot remember their dreams. Dreaming to some people have a supernatural or spiritual meaning to them, while do others, it means nothing to them. Our research is important, because it can be applied to the general population. It shows what would happen to individuals if they do not get enough sleep. Complications that would arise from being sleep deprived are: persons would be prone to accidents, memory loss, fatigue, sleep disorders and other sleep related problems. Sleep is a very essential aspect of human life.
Someone who is not getting the adequate amount of sleep, will likely experience symptoms of being tired throughout the day, not focused in daily activities, irritable, stressed, and angry. For example, if a nurse is sleep deprived he/she would not be able to perform their daily duties throughout the course of the day. This can result to the nurse administering wrong medication, falling asleep on the job or they can provide inadequate care to patients. Also, if a teacher does not get the recommended amount of sleep he/she would not be able to teach her students effectively.
Some positive feedback about this experiment are: the individuals have the knowledge whether they are not sleep deprived and sleep deprived, they have the opportunity to change or adjust their sleeping habits, and also they have learnt the important of sleep. Negative feedback about the experiment are: had a short time span to conduct the experiment, and the experiment was not able to be compared to a controlled experiment.
To conclude, this experiment was a learning experience, however the experiment can be improved by having a controlled experiment to compare to and have more time allotted for the experiment to be more
successful.

The researcher must have a hypothesis for a cause and effect relationship between variables, the treatment group, the control group, random selection for the treatment group, and random assignment for the control group. In a simple experiment, the researcher forms two groups that are similar or equivalent, through probability, to each other in every way possible appropriate to the concept of experiment. The treatment group receives the procedure for the experiment and the control group does not.
