Helping people is one of the things I was brought up learning form my parents. United Way is one of the many charities that help people. Being the 1st largest charity in the U.S. United Way helps people in need. United Way is a nonprofit organization that helps 50 million families a year. They have 1800 offices in 45 different countries helping communities with their schools, government agencies, and many more. United way was founded in 1887 in Denver, Co by Frances Wisebart Jacobs, the Rev. Myron W. Reed, Msgr. William J.O’Ryan, Dean H. Martyn Hart and Rabbi William S. Friedman. One was a normal Denver woman another was a priest, two ministers and a rabbi. They all came up with a great idea which was to become one of the very first united
When deciding on which non-profit organization to give resources to, a person must think of a number of questions that need to be answered in which to choose a certain one. The most pertinent of these questions is the one that asks which cause the person cares about the most. The problem, for a majority of the population, is that they just do not know what they truly care about. That is why the United Way is the best option for donations. The United way does not focus on one specific, but instead works for a variety of different causes focused on fixing some of the different problems inside of the United States. The United Way is an organization, which envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability and healthy lives. It plans to do this by improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. The United Way needs money and time in order to achieve some of these goals. This essay will explain why the United Way is the best organization to give ones resources to.

William Golding was born on September 19,1911 in St Columb Minor, England. His mom fought for equal rights for women and his dad was a school master. William Golding tried to write his first book when he was just twelve years old, but he failed. That did not stop him and went on to attend Oxford University and studied English literature. William Golding even published a book a year before he was to graduate, but of course was looked over by many critics. He became a teacher like his father, but then decided to join the Royal Navy and spent six years fighting in World War II. He went back to writing and teaching after World War II ended and nine years later he published his most famous piece of work, Lord of the Flies.
Today in America, personal ambition serves the common good. Motivates successful individuals drive social and economic progress and set strong examples for others. In order to help the common good, the common good must first help themselves. Instead of relying on others and the government for assistance, we should all reflect on ourselves and see what we can do for ourselves. If everyone helped themselves no one would need to be helped. Reliance on others is a huge problem with in our society, including a reliance on the government, other citizens and technology, and a reliance on others to help us achieve everyday activities. If we all tried self helping ourselves the world would be a much better place.

Southeastern University is a private, Co-ed, Christian university. SEU’s main focus is to equip their students to be a next generation of leaders so that they can enter the real world as influential servants to their careers and communities. Southeastern university offers a plentiful amount of study programs, even the program I am interested in which is Human services. I selected this school First because it is a Christian college, and Second because of the programs of study. I chose to go to a Christian college because I grew up in a Christian household and because I believe in Jesus. I also chose Southeastern University because of the programs of study. SEU was one of the few colleges that had a program of study that I was interested in.
“As a child, I loved athletics and physical activities. I was talented, but my talent was not appreciated or approved of by most. I watched my brothers compete on school teams. It didn't matter that in the neighborhood pick-up games, I was selected before my brothers. Society dictated that I should watch, and that they should compete. So at home in the backyard, I would catch as my brother worked on his curve ball, I would shag flies as he developed his batting prowess and, as I recall, I frequently served as his tackling dummy. The brother I caught and shagged for, and for whom I served as a tackling dummy, went on to Georgetown University on a full athletic grant. He later became vice president of a large banking firm. So, while I rode in the back seat on the bus of opportunity during my lifetime, I want my daughter's daughter and her peers to be able to select a seat based on their abilities and their willingness to work. Don't deny them the things that I dreamed of."-- Excerpts of a letter sent to OCR in spring 1995 by Joan Martin, Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Monmouth University, New Jersey

The common statement “Beauty is pain” is something a girl would completely understand. We understand it and accept it because we know the final product of our hair, face or body will be worth whatever pain we put it through. Maybe there is truth to this statement because everyone has tried some kind of diet where we select the salad instead of that amazing cheeseburger. These sacrifices can be pretty painful, but we continue to give in knowing we will improve our overall health. Exercising, which is another sacrifice made to better our health, can also be extremely painful and any person that has ever gone on a hard run knows exactly what that pain is. But, in addition to getting your body in shape, running goes beyond toning and strengthening muscles or loosing a few pounds. Running has so many benefits that many people don’t even know about. As little as thirty minuets of running during the week can do wonders for a persons health. (Allen, 2014) That doesn’t sound too painful now, does it? In fact, running benefits a person’s mind, body, and age.
The nonprofit sector is ever evolving and in an attempt to withstand, perhaps, the most important role as being a gap filler. Although there are roughly 1.5 million nonprofit organizations dispersed throughout the country (National Center for Charitable Statistics, 2016), very few can be categorized as great organizations capable of making a distinctive impact over a long period of time while delivering superior performance (Collins, 2005). Reason being, many organizations have limited their ability to be effective and efficient nonprofit organizations, capable of transforming the system around them to achieve greater good. As the need for highly effective and, if you will, overall great nonprofit organizations increase, organizations should undergo a series of improvements to become high impact organizations. Throughout this paper, I will discuss the six principles of highly impactful organizations and how they are
How would today’s world be if the technology that is known and loved by millions suddenly vanished? Could the world re-adapt to the lack of technology, or would it plummet into Darkness and Despair? In actuality, if someone can develop artificial intelligences to a certain limit he or she can prevent many of the world’s future problems. In a sense, Mankind can benefit greatly from the further use and development of Artificial Intelligence although some people would have one believe that the further development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can endanger large areas around the world.
There are 232 million identities stolen each year. Cybercrime is becoming more of a problem today than it ever has. In the course of one day, 1.5 million people will be hacked while on the computer. The United States and Russia have the highest rates for this crime. Terrorist groups often begin their attack by using cyber crimes. Nowadays people are getting more creative in the ways they commit cybercrimes. There are a few known reasons why people commit these crimes. Police and FBI agents are already busy with violent criminals, and trying to solve difficult cases; they just don’t have the time or resources to catch cyber criminals. Today’s generation does not understand how serious cyber crime can be. “Unless and until our society recognizes cyber bullying for what it is, the suffering of thousands of silent victims will continue.” (Cyber Quotes, 2014). All people need to be taught how to act against this crime and prevent it from happening to them.
Someone once said, "We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone”. There are thousands of charities out there that need people's help, like animal shelters, homeless shelters, and education charities.
