MSTT was able to speak with Miguel (father) in regard to Miguel staying with him. Youth father has tried to reach out to Miguel with resistance from his son. Youth father has no problem with youth staying with him while his mother is serving her time. An update from last week. Sherlly is not in jail at this time. She was detained for a few hours because of an hit an run. She hit a street light and because she was driving without a license she left the scene of the crime. On the day Yessenia Suarez and her 2 children went missing Kevin Dreddin was the last one to talk to her, which was at 12:49 a.m. Felicita Perez, Suarez’s mother, says she became concerned when she had not heard from her daughter; she had the Sheriff’s Office do a well check. Perez says she talks to her daughter on the phone every morning and when she didn’t answer the phone on October 22, 2014 she was worried. While the police were investigating Luis Toledo comes home and they take him into custody.
The cost of Medical equipment plays a significant role in the delivery of health care. The clinical engineering at Victoria Hospital is an important branch of the hospital team management that are working to strategies ways to improve quality of service and lower cost repairs of equipments. The team members from Biomedical and maintenance engineering’s roles are to ensure utilization of quality equipments such as endoscope and minimize length of repair time. All these issues are a major influence in the hospital’s project cost. For example, Victory hospital, which is located in Canada, is in the process of evaluating different options to decrease cost of its endoscope repair. This equipment is use in the endoscopy department for gastroenterological and surgical procedures. In 1993, 2,500 cases where approximately performed and extensive maintenance of the equipment where needed before and after each of those cases. Despite the appropriate care of the scope, repair requirement where still needed. The total cost of repair that year was $60,000 and the repair services where done by an original equipment manufacturers in Ontario.
The LPN-Team Lead contacted the social worker about Dr. Sundaram’s patient. The patient is a single, Caucasian grandmother and mother of two; she is alert and orientated to person, place and time. The patient reports that she lives with her 16 year old daughter and 3 month old granddaughter. The patient states that she works two jobs, one full-time and one part-time job and she assist with the care of her new granddaughter while her daughter is a work. The patient report that she is feeling (angry) and hurt because her boyfriend of 11 years cheated on her when she was in the hospital and left her a month ago; this and the loss of her child last year at 6 months gestation in addition to her CHF, COPD and influenza appears to have left the patient feeling of depression and hopelessness. The social worker noted that the patient scored a 19 on her PHQ-9, although she denies thoughts of suicide at this time. The patient states that she suffers from insomnia and gets approximately 2-3 hours of non-continuous sleep a night.
R/s he was unable to reach the family, until Friday. R/s Charmie reported to him that she is living with her boyfriend, Anthony and his mother, Donna. R/s according to Charmie, Sandra is homeless because she was evicted. R/s there is a juvenile warrant for Charmie and she will be picked up today. R/s he has a scheduled meeting at 9:30 am this morning with Charmie. R/s Charmie will be placed in hold for 48 hours at the DJJ Correction Center in Columbia.
A youth that has committed a delinquent offense will be monitored by a caseworker which might involve home and school visits, drug screens or anything else that may be a stipulation or requirement of the probation. The social workers in both videos gathered information regarding each of the client’s issues. Another common denominator in both videos is that both of the social workers repeated what the client had said in their own words to allow the client to feel heard and understood. Viewpoints of the residents of the chosen community will be summarized and discussed. Recommendation about observed issues will be implemented. Furthermore, theories and sociological aspects of diverse authors regarding notion communities will be included as they can support the findings.
The paternal grandmother came to court and said she would help care for Elijah. Elijah has been with the father since November 1, 2016. Initially, the reporter was okay with the father having Elijah. MSTT met with Quaiesha and Wilbur to discuss their recent verbal altercation which leads to Wilbur wanting to have Quaiesha placed outside the home. Wilbur stated he believes Quaiesha lack respect for him and the evidence he uses to describe this is her unwillingness to follow household rules, talking back to him, and comparing his home to her mother's home. Quaiesha explained she does not want to live with her father and she never did and feel forced to be there and want to go live with her mother. Wilbur explained to Quaiesha how that is not an option because the court placed her in his custody due to the physical abuse while she was with her mother. This case involves Angelina and Philip who are employed at IMH and attend church at Union Station even though they are two different organizations they are linked as one. Philip is a Sunday school teacher, leader of the men’s fellowship group. Angelina leads the women’s Bible study group. Being devoted Christians, they moved into the community to be closer to church. Angelina has job experience in Social services as a Social Worker for fifteen years. She is offered a position at IMH as the Director of Social Service, she been employed now for four years. Angelina is very familiar with the NASW Code of Ethics, and she questions herself is she breaking the ethical rules by participating in the church activities, while she sees some of the parishioners are clients at IMH.
On July 7th I had an interview opportunity with the Oasis Shelter in Owensboro, Kentucky. This was one of the numerous opportunities that I placed on my possible field interest to receive an internship at. I met with the director of the Oasis shelter in Henderson, Kentucky that afternoon for the interview. The interview went well, and I informed the director that I was a Sociology undergrad student looking to expand my knowledge with domestic violence. Towards the end of the interview, the director informed me “we do not accept many Master of Social Work students because MSW’s are know it all.
