“Where u goin n need a ride?”, Pablo, a forty five year old, male, uber driver, messages me. “Sure, meet me at the corner of detroit and wagar, please”. I could immediately tell which car was his, as I could hear his fast-beat latino music blasting down the road. As I begin to open the door, it hits me. The cancer causing, teeth staining, lung tarring, disgusting smell of Pablo’s lit cigarette sitting in the ash tray. Struggling to breathe, I politely tell him my destination to my friend Derek’s house, buckle my seatbelt, notice his unstrapped, and begin my adventure (I say adventure intending to use the true meaning of the word, an unusual, typically hazardous experience). While Pablo swerves down the road with his Latino music still blearing …show more content…

In Cincinnati, an Uber driver with a criminal history attacked one of their riders. The lady jumped out of the moving car and called the police, "He wasn't listening at all to me, I told him to leave maybe 50 times, and you know he wouldn't leave” she told the police. Since 2010, the year Uber was founded, there have been over one hundred attacks, kidnappings, and assaults. Another incident occurred in late 2015, when 26 year old uber driver, Patrick Karajah, beat his passenger with a hammer and drove away. The victim of the assault recalls, "All of the sudden [Karajah] appeared at the door with the hammer and said, 'I told you to get the f*** out of my car,'". The Uber driver was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and battery with serious bodily injury, and he has pleaded not guilty to both counts, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office; Karajah was freed on $125,000 bail. Uber continues to prove why their business cannot be trusted, do you know who is driving

I made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was identified by his Florida driver’s license as Ronald Paul Bjornstad. I made contact with the front seat passenger, who was identified by her Florida driver’s license as the Chevrolet’s registered owner, Amanda Claire Grauaug. As I was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, I observed the female to be shaking consistent with someone who was nervous. I asked her if she was shaking because she was hiding drugs or weapons and she replied, “umm…….nooo….I don’t think so.” She advised she was in the process of moving into the Grand BLV Motel. The Grand BLV Motel is located at 7804 Grand BLV Port Richey, FL and is known to law enforcement to be a location where the sell and use of illegal narcotics is common.
As Austin drove down the packed Vegas road, I could smell a mix of used cigarettes that was burning when I breathed it in. I looked around noticing the lights flashing everywhere, even though it was twelve thirty in the afternoon. I could taste the grittiness in the air from all of exhaust coming from the hundreds of cars in the city. We walked through the city and we noticed all the garbage everywhere. It felt like we were walking through a pile of stinky clothes and wrappers.
New York City that is depicted in Taxi Driver seems to be too real to be true. It is a place where violence runs rampant, drugs are cheap, and sex is easy. This world may be all too familiar to many that live in major metropolitan areas. But, in the film there is something interesting, and vibrant about the streets that Travis Bickle drives alone, despite the amount of danger and turmoil that overshadows everything in the nights of the city. In the film “Taxi Driver” director Martin Scorsese and writer Paul Schrader find and express a trial that many people face, the search for belonging and acceptance.
I run non-stop until we approach our destination. I slow down once I spot our vehicle. I can see the sky turning light blue on the east, the sun must be getting ready to rise. As we get near my 97' Royal Blue Blazer, I get my keys out of my pocket to unlock the car, and once inside the vehicle I turn it on and sit patiently waiting for the engine to warm up. While we wait, Jorge pulls out a blunt and a lighter to light it- I don’t puff so I don’t partake. Out of respect for me, Jorge cracks his window to blow out his smoke. I turn the radio on and change the station to some modern tunes. After a few minutes of waiting, I shift my car into drive and steer off. As I navigate home, I think to myself what a lucky night with my homie, I then remind myself not to forget to add another blessing to my

The rhythm of my morning walk to school is interrupted instantaneously by the torturing shriek of rubber tires skidding, only to be followed by the chilling screech of metal scraping metal. Down the street at the corner of St. Rose and Wyandotte, all eyes lock open in absolute shock at the tragic mess of a wrong turn. One cherry red Toyota truck had absorbed and spit out a silver Honda Civic. The surrounding air becomes smothered with a thick blend of the toxic fumes of gas and the cruel smell of charred rubber. Three young men race towards the wreck to rescue the victims trapped inside, as people take out their phones to shakily call 911. To the left, one car lays upside down, surrounded by a blanket of fragmented glass. To the right, there
Uber was formed in 2009 and after its historical success; it planned to expand into other countries like China, India Pakistan etc. The current challenge for Uber is the competitors in China and different regulations in these countries. Uber is facing challenges from two of its main competitors in the China. It hardly got rides of 1 million on a daily basis in China. Uber sales are slow in these countries. Now, the company is planning to think about the expansion strategy and its effect on the operations of the country. The important question here is to recommend that whether it should expand into other countries or only focus on the United States.
While driving down the road, you may have witnessed someone’s car swerve from its lane. You hold your breath, hoping it returns safely back to its place in the traffic pattern. But what happens when that vehicle is larger than a car? What if it is a heavy truck, hauling freight hundreds or thousands of miles? It might not make it back on the road due to driver fatigue.
"Hey, be careful and don't do anything stupid," my dad said to me right before I hopped into Chase Miller's dark blue Chevy S-10 with a camper shell on the back. I looked at Chase and Tyler Becker and said, "Let's go camping." As Chase pushed down the gas pedal, a big cloud of black smoke shot out of the back of the truck and the smell of burning motor oil filled the cab.
If there were no drivers, there would be no profits, and if drivers found other more favourable ways to make income, Uber would be affected drastically. This is an impactful flaw in Uber’s design. Drivers will often be dissatisfied due to no real employer-employee relationship due to only contract employment, lack of communication, and extremely minimal room for drivers to advance in rank or professionally develop.
