My community service has inspired me to help others through the field of nursing. I volunteer after school with my high school's Athletic Trainer at games, practices and other sporting events to help prevent and diagnose injuries for student athletes so there is less need to spend money on an E.R. or doctor visit for a simple sprain. If I had unlimited money and resources I would improve and grow our local hospital system, UVA-Culpeper. Many people that live in my county refuse to go to our local hospital because it's older and some believe not as up to date and proficient as the surrounding hospitals. Some would rather travel 45 plus minutes to UVA or NOVA to get treatment even in the case of an emergency, that’s a significant problem facing
I also walked with the Purplestride.org fund raising to end Cancer. I volunteered my free time cooking and feeding the homeless around San Diego with friends and classmates while attending San Diego Continuous Education Program. After completing my nursing degree, I am looking forward to the opportunity to reach out to the multitude in the underserved community.

My senior year of high school alone, I completed over 160 hours of community service. Being a full-time student and a part-time worker, unfortunately does not allow for much spare time, but whenever I do have a chance, I always volunteer through my youth group in church. One of my biggest goals in life is being able to give back to the community on a much bigger scale. Ultimately, I hope to even go full circle and give scholarships to Hispanic student like me.
In order to make ones’ health care coverage more affordable, the nation needs to address the continually increasing medical care costs. Approximately more than one-sixth of the United States economy is devoted to health care spending, such as: soaring prices for medical services, costly prescription drugs, newly advanced medical technology, and even unhealthy lifestyles. Our system is spending approximately $2.7 trillion annually on health care. According to experts, it is estimated that approximately 20%-30% of that spending (approx. $800 billion a year) appears to go towards wasteful, redundant, or even inefficient care.
Despite the established health care facilities in the United States, most citizens do not have access to proper medical care. We must appreciate from the very onset that a healthy and strong nation must have a proper health care system. Such a health system should be available and affordable to all. The cost of health services is high. In fact, the ...
I am interested in pursuing a career in athletic training. My school has a partnership with my local football team. I hope to visit your company for a day to obtain a better of the career I have chosen. I need to understand what qualifications I must have for such a career. I have always wanted to go into athletic training. Just imagine, if I got big enough in that, I can possibly be helping out a famous football player. To me, it would just be amazing to go and help somebody like Rob Gronkowski. It is possible that my favorite sports team will hire me. My favorite sports teams are the New England Patriots, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Cincinnati Reds.
As many of you might have guessed, my chosen career is to be an Athletic Trainer. When I tell
At the beginning of this volunteer experience, I walked in hopeful that I would gain some knowledge about the different careers that the medical field possesses, but I got so much more than that. I learned that community service is about making an impact in the lives of other members who share my community.
Three years ago, I volunteer at the Florida hospital. It was a amazing experience to see how everyone was working together to save lives. Ever since then I wanted to become a registered nurse because of my compassion, and I want to care for people. I like giving advice and emotional support to others. Nursing is my passion in life.
My community service work at County Hospital is to care for the rudimentary needs of each patient. My goals are to provide inspiration during the healing process, teach kindness and compassion, and discover my own abilities for empathy. "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I'll try again to tomorrow (Mary Anne Radmacher)." My hope as a volunteer is to help each patient find that voice, find that courage to go forward.
When I found out I wanted to have a career in nursing I was playing with my mother's stethoscope when I was younger, I wanted to be just like her. From going to her job seeing how she work to watching her as a child study and learning more about nursing motivated me. Seeing how my mom did what she did and how determined and head strong in her work she was motivated me to pursue a career in nursing. I want to be able to be a nurse anesthetist one day so whenever I get the chance to be close to an actual nurse anesthetist in an outpatient I took that chance. During my junior year of highschool I was playing basketball for the Petal lady Panthers. I tore my ACL bruised my LCL and tore my meniscus on November 19 . After several doctor visits and rehab prior to surgery on December
The name of the career want to do is an athletic trainer. The reasons I want to be an athletic trainer is because it in the sports field. I want to help athletes that are injured, If I don’t make it far as a athlete. It would keep me closer to sports and helping people.
With not just volunteer work at a nursing home but also helping at hospitals where there is more than twenty or thirty ill who would like to see someone young care for them. With this change in my life, it made me realize that I didn’t want anything to do with business but I wanted to be part of the medical field. As I grew up to getting my certificate as a nursing assistant showed me that even the elderly need help, care and showed me that at one point a lot of us may end up without care from a family member and we have to seek care from those who enjoy helping those in
My experiences have also shaped why and how I want to provide care to others. I have worked with Special Olympics for over two years and it has been nothing but rewarding. After creating trust and modeling self-confidence with an athlete, I have watched them grow out of their typical irritable behavior to interacting with others in a mature, upbeat fashion. Another experience that has influenced me was working at the food pantry. I never took into account that perhaps people actually wondered where their next meal is going to come from. Dedicating myself to a week at the food pantry, I had learned what it felt like to give back. Handing out food boxes at the end of the week not only put a smile on their faces but mine as well because I know I gave service that provided relief to many.
Ever since I was little I have loved helping out my community. Whether it was by feeding the homeless or cleaning up parks. Volunteering has always interested me in many ways. This past year I have volunteered at so many places to improve my community. Something I am proud of is when I volunteered at Santa's Inc. One day I was in my key club and they had brought this up and asked who would like to sign up. Here I was able to assist mothers who couldn't afford gifts for their children by helping them “shop” for clothes, toys, and books that were free. I played a major role in those women's lives. Volunteering has allowed me to get to know people more.
