Why do I deserve the UNGMS scholarship and what are my educational and career goals?
I have dedicated myself to being well rounded through academics, athletics, and most importantly good character. This scholarship will enable me to reach my full potential while serving in the national guard and participating in one of the best cadet programs in the country at the school of my dreams. The same determination and teamworking ability that has allowed me to be successful thus far is what I believe will enable me to excel as a cadet and contribute to this institution in a multitude of ways. I truly believe that the skills and discipline I have already acquired though the National Guard will make me a valuable asset to the Corp of Cadets. Most of all, I want to be

I greatly look forward to the challenging but rewarding career plans I have for myself. If selected for this prestigious scholarship, I plan to attend Basic Combat
Training after completion of my first semester as a cadet at UNG. As a Private in the Georgia
National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program I have jumped on every opportunity to build my leadership skills and further my knowledge of my M.O.S. of Combat Medic. After completing basic training, I will ship out to advanced individual training for combat medics at Fort Sam
Houston in San Antonio Texas. Here I plan to hone my craft and become one of the most skilled, knowledgeable, and capable medics by graduation. After four successful years of being a cadet and a soldier in the National Guard I hope to have gained ample leadership experience and extensive military knowledge. This will enable me to commission as a second lieutenant in the
Georgia Army National Guard. My plan is to graduate with a Bachelor’s degrees of Biology with a concentration on Pre-physical therapy. After commissioning I plan to begin an intensive 2-year program to come a board-certified physical therapist in the National
Meeting these heroes is what motivated me to apply. These brave warriors offered the ultimate sacrifice for their country. They became the best of the best. They became my role models and my idols. As I held my saber high above their heads, I realized what I wanted to do with my life; I want to be an aid to those in need while being the best I can be. I don’t want to be a hero. I just want to help find justice and peace in this world. I realized that day that the best way to do this would be to join the military. My original plan was to enlist, but I also want to go to college and continue to learn and better myself. Therefore, I made the biggest decision of my life. I decided to apply to the United States Military Academy. I decided to apply to stand side by side with some of the smartest, bravest, and toughest heroes America has to offer. The graduates of the United States Military are considered the best of the best which is what I wish to
I have led, recognized and employed the strengths and talents of those Airmen entrusted to me. I have lead from the front only because I have earned the trust of those behind me. I believe in and embody our service's core values in my personal and professional lives. I am the 'Whole Airman' through excellent technical aptitudes, unrivaled commitment to duty and a genuine desire to improve our force. Time and time again, and without reservation, my family and I sacrificed our wants and time for the demands of my profession. My family and I fully understand what this transition entails and as an officer, I will be fully devoted to the duties and Airmen entrusted to me. As a prior-enlisted officer, I will empathize with my Airmen ensuring their contributions are recognized and further develop them in every facet that is our Air Force culture. Finally, as a commissioned Airman, I intend to serve long and decisively to honor those that have served before us, my family’s proud military heritage and my wife and daughter…who drive me to be successful and strive for every new
I had to pass jump school to attend Special Forces school where I had a slot waiting for me. I wanted to be a Special Forces ambassador in uniform so I could represent my country abroad. Special Forces trains a host nations military by teaching it essential skills. I wanted as many overseas assignments as I could get. My respect for Special Forces and my desire to be part of this elite group gave me my motivation to continue and never give up. I wanted to be in one of America’s best units.
This book substantially explains the vigorous training platoon 3086 went through in order to earn the title of being a Marine.
Although I grew up in a military family, I never saw myself going into a military career. Up until I was about fourteen years old, I planned on being a marine biologist in Hawaii. Sounds nice, right? Well, at the end of my eighth grade year I decided that I might as well join NJROTC, because all of my friends were doing it and it seemed okay. I have to say, looking back, I was quite naive. Joining NJROTC was the smartest and most valuable decision I have made to this day.
...tiring out of there. I plan on getting officer training at some point. I will do college when I have at least put 2-3 years into the Infantry. Then I will also change my MOS to learn some Technical Skills, repairing vehicles, stuff like that, for a just in case scenario. Something I can fall back on in case my plans after The Marines doesn't
My initial reason to enter the Air Force was a great way to pay for college which turned into a call of duty and a service commitment which has actively allowed me to contribute to the Air Force mission. Thus far I have led a joint force search and rescue effort and a multinational exercise to preserve freedom. As an F-15E instructor WSO and combat mission ready WSO I actively contribute to ensure our freedoms are preserved and the attacks of September 11, 2001 will never happen again.
Growing up I always wanted to fly airplanes, especially after I visited the Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. After high school with an uncertain future but desiring an education, I started taking classes at a local technical college that specialized in university transfers. Specifically, a university transfer to Clemson University where I joined the ROTC program as a sophomore. After sophomore year, I earned a two-year scholarship to attend Clemson fulltime, followed by a trip to Lackland AFB for field training. As a junior, I earned a navigator training slot, a flying billet that was an answer to my prayers. Upon completion of my degree in Human Resources, I commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and assigned to casual status to await navigator training.
In my current role, I am in command of 2 Troop, a star level instructor, as well as the Master of Arms on the Marksmanship Team, providing the cadets with the knowledge required to succeed in Cadets and demonstrating my strong will to support others to become better. If selected, I would like to share the experience (through various means such as PowerPoints, informal conversations, and written forms) in hopes of inspiring more youth to appreciate their fortunate lives as a result of the soldiers that fought for our freedom.
Upon graduation, if I decide to commission into the armed services, I plan on commissioning into the U.S Navy as a second lieutenant surface warfare officer; then work my way up to possibly
For college, one step I will need to take is to find out what I want to major in. I’ve decided that if I take this path, I will go undecided my first year, but will declare a major by the end of my freshman year. Another step I will have to take is to sign up for extracurricular activities at the college so that I can stay involved with the community. One last step I will need to take to achieve my goals is to get a job once I get to college so I can buy a car and/or use the money for other necessities (food, gas, etc.). For the military route as well, there are steps needed to take in order to achieve my goals. For one, I will need to figure out what branch I’d like to join. I can achieve this by talking to recruiters from each branch and getting the information from them. Another step I’ll need to take is to take the ASVAB and get sworn in. Lastly, before I can even get started on the job within the military; I'll need to take the step and complete basic
At my high school right now, I am in a Color Guard- a quasi military group, in which I have earned the rank of Captain, which
Being able to clearly understand how my job contributes to the Air Force, the Joint Environment, and the DoD is extremely satisfying. I take my work seriously because I know that what I do can have a direct impact on the military’s ability to fight and win wars. The personal achievements that I have experienced during my 22 years in the Air Force are also very gratifying. The work I did as a Security Policeman stand out the most. It was here that I went from a boy to a man in just a few short months and fully understood what it meant to be a part of the military. From humble beginnings in a small town I made the decision to enlist and take on a task bigger than myself. I had no idea what I was getting into.
I know that if I get the honor of being welcomed into this program, I will be able to achieve my plans for the future. I just have to keep my head on my shoulders and keep the aspiration alive and
When my mandatory military duty ends, I will enroll into the United States Army War College (USAWC). USAWC is a two year program for students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Strategic and Defense Analysis. The program consists of 5 components, Orientation to Strategic Leadership Education, Strategic leadership, National Security policy and strategy, War and Military Strategy, and Strategic Leadership in a Global Environment.
