Tyrion Lannister Research Paper

My name is Tyrion Lannister, I was born the second son of Tywin and Joanna Lannister of Casterly Rock. I have an older brother and an older sister named Jaime and Cersei, both of whom were destined for greatness as greatness was expected of them. Me? I was born a dwarf as well as a second son, nothing is expected of me. Many people have fond memories of family, I on the other hand do not. I do not ever remember my mother, not the brightness of her smile, or the way her hair flowed in a summer's breeze, or even a soft kiss upon my young cheek. The reason I don't know all of these things is because my mother died giving birth to me, a fact my father and my sister still to this very day curse with every breath in their spiteful bodies. My brother Jamie is a good sort, I often enjoyed his company, I always respected him, and he never lied to me.

If my father had his way I would have been taken to the cold winter woods of the North and left to die in the frozen tundra or to be eaten by wolves, whichever happened to befall me first.

As I was born a Lannister I was to be raised like one. Being an Lannister meant I could not be a burden but a bright star that would bring honor to the family, though there was so little honor to be had with my father and sister running things. I was too young to recall the events of King Robert's rise to power or my family's part in it except for my brother plunging his sword into the Mad King's back. Oh, what a tale that was to hear, speaking of tales I have one to share with you all today. There once was a dwarf, a very very sad dwarf, and he was walking along the road where he came across a woman. This woman had been hurt by some very bad men, and the dwarf wanted to heal the woman. After the dwarf's brave noble brother drove off the bad men the dwarf did just that. The woman and the dwarf fell in love and with the help of the dwarf's brother, and a septon they just happened to find, the dwarf and the woman were married. The couple were happy until an evil tyrant cloaked in red came and deemed the woman unfit for the dwarf. He had his men pay her a silver coin each time they wanted to use her as those evil men had done that day, and the tyrant made the dwarf watch. The woman left and the dwarf never saw her again, the end. The dwarf never did forgive the tyrant for what he did and to this day the dwarf wishes he could put an arrow into the black heart of that tyrant.
