There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people to survive in this world is friendship. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend to be alone. However, friends with negative characteristic can also give us some good examples of seeing double sides of something, like, a character can be good and bad at the same time. More details and examples are given in further paragraph.
I have a lot of friends that have negative characteristics that fall into different categories. There is an overconfident friend, a competitive friend, indecisive friend, selfish friend and of course the unreliable friend. Let’s talk about it one by one.
The first one is an overconfident friend. Being overconfident makes them look arrogant. They will think that they are the best among all the other students. If they get lower scores than other people, they will be angry. Overconfidence may lead to a competitive characteristic, as they always want to be the best among the others. I don’t really get along with a competitive friend. They are so competitive that if I get better scores than them, they will try to find my mistakes to make my scores lower. Nonetheless, we can learn some good things from those kinds of people. I have one friend that is overconfident and it turns out we can learn something from thi...

...ely on unreliable person and as a result, they will always feel free and won’t have any burden. Sometimes when people rely on us, we’ll get burdens. Sometimes, being an unreliable person is easier.
Those are the types of friends I do not get a long with and some advantages that we can learn from them. In certain circumstances, friends with negative characteristics can be advantageous. We can take and learn some beneficial things from their characteristics .We can take the positive things from them and not only the negative things. To summarize, nobody’s perfect and I will make friend with people I can get along with. However, I also will not take ones I can’t get along with as my enemies, as I realize that I also have some negative traits. I will always try to be positive thinker, which is; I will always try to see people’s positive sides rather than negative ones.
To begin with, according to Lucius Annaeus Seneca, “One of the most beautiful qualities of true friendship is to understand and to be understood”. Even this quote explains that true friendship is when an individual stands for another individual. In the novel Of Mice and Men, author John Steinbeck examine the idea of friendship between two migrant ranch worker even when there was difficulties. Through the character of Slim and George, author Steinbeck illustrates friendship and reveals that friendships stand up for each other even when is difficult time.
A good influence, good mood/ positive outlook on life, and polite. These are some qualities that a good friend should have. Speak, Laurie Halse Anderson, young adult novel. Melinda Sordino would not make a good friend because she is a bad influence, she doesn’t speak up when she needs to and she often seems to be in a bad mood.
In life, friendship is something that everybody needs. It allows people to function better and be more successful. Some people think that all friendships are the same and do not differ from the next. However, I believe that each friendship has its own quality that makes it different from all of the other friendships while still retaining all of the characteristics that make the relationship a friendship. Today, this essay will highlight the qualities that are the same in the friendship of Maurice and Laura from An Invisible Thread and the friendship of Lennie and George from Of Mice and Men while also identifying the differences between them as well as illustrating the very attributes that define a friendship.
...ip and they lack what it takes for a real friendship to flourish. Aristotle talks about how “cities are built around friendships” and believe this to be so true because friendships can mature into such greater things. A friendship consists of so many things within it, a true virtuous relationship relies on communication, trust, loyalty, and many other things. These qualities that make up a good friendship are nonexistent in a Utility or Pleasure relationship.
These people are not really friends in the sense of it. These are people we get to relate with out of convenience, we would not have to talk to them too much about ourselves. Even Viorst admitted that: “But we don’t, with convenient friends, ever come too close or tell too much: We maintain our public face and emotional distance. ”(1) .... ...
Friends come and go, it’s the good ones that stay. In the book “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time India” The author convey many themes but friendship is one of the biggest. Throughout the book, Junior the main character talks about his life and how friendship is very important to him. He learns to make new friends and understand to let go of some.
Friendship. A feeling that is valued by almost everyone in the world. But friendship can be “deadly.” Not in the sense that it can kill a person – maybe it can – but in the sense that it is a very fragile piece of the lives of those who live on Earth. Friendship can be an amazing piece of one’s life, or it can be one the worst aspects of life. When one makes a friend, a true friend, it allows that friend to learn a lot about that person. This could be a good entity, only if that friend is a friend that is not going to betray that individual. However, the bad side of friendship comes with a brutal price to pay. If a friend were to “backstab” that person, and reveal all of their secrets. This is one of the worst things that could ever happen
The first category, the occasional friends, encompasses three friend types. The first one is the grenade. This type of friend is usually annoying and tough to be around but they serve a critical purpose. They make you look better by comparison. Slightly better than the grenade, is the jerk with the heart of gold. Like the grenade they are generally annoying but unlike the grenade they are genuin...

Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
On a conscious level, we rarely spend much time actually thinking about and classifying our friends. However, since I was a small child, my mother taught me to recognize and appreciate various types of friends. I have discovered that there are three different types of friends. I group them according to how well I know them and how well they know me. We encounter each type of friend everyday, whether in school, home, or at the gym. First, there are the "pest friends"- general acquaintances. Next, there are "guest friends"- social partners. Lastly, we have "best friends"- our true friends.
There are some friends that have an enormous influence on our lives such as career, relationships, and self-esteem. Friends can have a huge influence on one’s life. They can help a person achieve a better career. Friends can also be a big help or can ruin a person’s relationship. A friend can also help a person have better habits or they can influence a person to have bad habits. A friend can have a big influence on a person’s life.
If you decide to surround yourself with negative people who don’t have anything to look forward to in life, then you’re setting yourself up to be unsuccessful. Those negative people will try their hardest to bring you down with them. Growing up in school you had your friends in 1st grade, then in Jr. High, and then when you got to high school you might not even know or see your friends from 1st grade anymore. For the few people who’s had a friend from 1st grade till college I think that someone they need to hold on to because if they stuck with you through all of them year I know they’re there for the right reason and not just there for a season. As Elizabeth Dunphy says, “It’s the little things that matter, that add up in the end, with the priceless thrilling magic found only in a friend.”
In life we come across many people. Some will hate us while others will adore us. The ones who hate us can be referred to as enemies and the ones who show us adoration are referred to as friends. There are three types of friends. They are the aquaintinces we make in school, the friends we loose as one grows, and best friends who may stray, but never too far away.
A good friend may not have all these traits. If someone is a gossip, you shouldn't get too close with him or her. If they are known for betrayal and being dishonest you should think about it and probably take one step away from them. According to the site “Being Friends,” friends should listen to each other, not put each other down to hurt one another, understand each others feelings, disagree without hurting each other, and be dependable and trustworthy. When finding friends you should look out for the good and the bad. See which traits are most important to you and make sure your friends have more good than bad traits. This will create compatible friends for you who hopefully remain with you for a lifetime!
