As well as Tyler, Josh has three siblings: sisters, Abigail and Ashley, and a brother, Jordan. He was self-taught to play the drums. In the interview to “Rolling Stones” Josh said that he was forced to hide albums by artists including Green Day, Dr Dre and Eminem when he was younger, as his parents disapproved of his taste in music. He said, “I wasn’t really allowed to listen to rock music. When I tell you I skated to the local music shop, those were CDs I was bringing home and hiding under the mattress” (https://goo.gl/Kw7dEH). Then, he worked in the Guitar Center for three years, which he quit later to join the group. Firstly, Josh Dun was a member of the musical group House of Heroes, but then he left it, and Tyler asked him to join him. So, in 2011, Tyler and Josh started to play together. Music served as an escape for Josh, because, as Hunt vividly describes, being a 15 year old, in the Great Depression was not an easy task. Josh, and his best friend Howie would produce beautiful music, temporarily losing themselves in the exquisite music they created. Josh and Howie were talented past their age, and they were given a role to play for the school assembly. Though their rehearsals were beneficial, they both dreaded the thought of returning home. Sadly, Stefan, Josh’s father did not feel the love he once felt toward music anymore, so he believed Josh should not spend time on luxuries such as music.
Charles Lindbergh played a significant role during the World War II era by acting as an example of a neutral countries changing mindsets. America of the 1930 's had believed in isolationism and neutrality. Dealing with the depression on the home front was more important to the people than some foreign threat affecting Europe. For many Americans, the imminent war and atrocities that would soon affect European countries seemed inconceivable. But the events of the war would soon push and pull them further away from their isolationist views and start a change within the country.

Van Halen took heavy metal to new heights. After more than two decades of playing sold-out concert halls, selling millions of albums and enduring various lineup changes and solo projects, Van Halen is recognized as one of the most resilient and successful rock bands to emerge from the 1970s and continue into the 1980’s. Eddie and Alex Van Halen were raised in Pasadena, the children of Dutch immigrants who immigrated to California in 1967. The Van Halen brothers grew up taking classical piano lessons. Eddie played guitar and Alex played the drums as teenagers. In 1974, they hooked up with David Lee Roth (vocals) and Michael Anthony (bass), while gigging around town in their band Mammoth. Within a few years, they had become one of the most popular bands on the Los Angeles scene. Fans packed L.A.'s smoky rock clubs to check out Eddie's unconventional guitar riffs and Roth's over-the-top showmanship.

After his parent’s divorce, he went to live with his father, and on the weekends he would go spend time with his mom and sister. When his father remarried, Cobain resented his stepmother, and her two children. One of the best things to happen to Cobain in that terrible time, was when he got a guitar from his uncle Chuck. Even though the instrument was fairly beat up, it inspired Cobain to learn and play and it offered a respite from his unhappiness at home. Cobain was angry and alienated, he thought his father always took his stepmothers side and he favored her children, and his step brother who was born in 1979. Cobain had begun experimenting with drugs in his teen years, and began to push himself farther away from his father.
Critique of “First Flight” The “First Flight” is an excellent short story that made pathos for the reader to portray in the life of an everyman who has to deal with exclusion and people’s bad choices. Gregory is an 18 year old who just wants to be sociable but everyone just shuts him out and doesn’t pay attention to him. He stops in a train station to warm up and is ridiculed on a false accusation of stealing a pilot uniform. W.D Valgardson perfectly shows both of the main themes.
Ever since he was born on August 29, 1958, music was a big influence in Michael’s life. Michael’s father, Joseph Jackson, was a guitarist who had put aside his musical career to support his family. However, he still drove his children into the music world. When brothers Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Randy and Michael showed talent, he started them in a band named the Jackson Five. Michael, six years old at that time, started off as a background member, only playing the conga (a drum-like instrument from Cuba). Later, once Joseph heard Michael sing, he immediately made him the lead singer.

Progress is in the eye of the beholder. Throughout the years society has forced nature out of its life and has instead adopted a new mechanical and industrialized lifestyle. Technology may be deemed as progress by some, where it is thought of as a positive advancement for mankind. Yet technology can also be a hindrance for society, by imposing itself on society and emptying the meaning out of life. In “Autobiography at an Air-Station,” Philip Larkin conveys his distaste of how society has denounced nature. By employing an ironic tone in the sonnet, Larkin comments on the significance of the sonnet in relation to industrial life. Life has become ironic because it is no longer a natural life that society leads, but a fabricated life. Through his use of rhyme and meter, the extended metaphor comparing the air-station to life, imagery, and diction, Larkin reflects on what life has come to be: a deviation from the intrinsic.
