Rabbit and Turtle Story in African American and Arabic Multiple nations have folktales as well as songs in their history such as Arabic, African, Australian, and European. So, folktales are widespread surrounding the world. Some folktales are for kids to have a good wisdom helping their parents to grow up them. Some of them are for adult to take a wisdom to make a control in their life or to see the best to live. Some folktales are created by senior people to give a lesson for their sons. Some of them are reported through people who lives true stories. According to Dictionary.com “Folktale is a tale or legend originating and traditional among a people or folk, especially one forming part of the oral tradition of the common people.” So, the …show more content…

So, the question is why turtle and rabbit story is known between cultures? Because all cultures believe in story’s moral. This story’s morals include do not be lazy, do not be reckless, do not be vain and do not underestimate the weakest opponent. Also, turtle gives the reader some morals too such as be care, be persistent and be ambitious. So, all these morals are believed by all cultures. This means each culture wants to push their people to do the best. Also, each culture cares for people from childhood to manhood. So, children in these culture take a simple moral from stories and it will be inside them from childhood to manhood. Rabbit and turtle story is the most famous story between a lots of people. For example, Arabic children study this story in school, and their teachers teach them the moral in the story. So, we can find this story in the school’s book too.
Consequently, each culture recites rabbit and turtle story in the same way but in different edition. Some cultures translate the story that rabbit and turtle argue between them. This argument starts with a vain rabbit and a patient turtle and start the race. The rabbit takes his nap in order the turtle cannot win the race because of slowness. The turtle continues to perseverance in the race to prove that she can win through her persistence.
