There was a major turning point effect after World War I. The major turning point in warfare was the machine gun. The machine gun could shoot 100 bullets in seconds. That was number one turning point of World War I. The second one was the U-boats. The U-boats were submarines that could shoot torpedo under water and sink a ship in minutes. The third one is the central and the allies powers. Nobody ever saw a world war specially countries' gong together and having a war. There was a huge major turning point in World War I that impact the whole world.
First major turning point is the machine gun. The machine gun killed thousands of solider during World War I. The machine gun is one of the most important guns there is. It could kill solider in seconds. It could fire 400-600 rounds in one minute. Each round killing one person so 400-600 people death in shot. When the machine gun gets too hot, They use to cool it down with water they usually had a bucket of water next to the shooter to cool down the gun. Also, the machine gun was a place in front of an airplane. That with couple of shot to another airplane they were brought down. Plane use to come down and shoot in the warfare to easily kill enemies.
Second,
The central powers were Austria-Hungary, Germany, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. The allies power were France, Russia, Great Britain, Italy and the United States and many power towards the end of the world war. Those are many countries fighting towards other countries that makes a world war. They were thousands of troops sent in the war. Millions of troops that die during the war. When finally the alliance power defeated the central powers. They limited 100,000 troops for Germany and 20 U-boats they punished Germany greatly. Since, they were the cause of World War
There were many technological developments in WWl. Machine guns were invented to help soldiers kill many people at the same time. Machine guns could fire
The outbreak of World War One was accompanied by new strategies, innovations, and inventions that developed modern warfare. World War One saw the widespread use of everything from artillery to machine guns and airplanes to submarines. World War One also saw the world’s most powerful navy, Great Britain’s Royal Navy, pitted against the up and coming German Imperial Navy. From Britain’s effective use of the naval blockade to Germany’s terrifying unrestricted submarine warfare, both sides were constantly looking for new strategies to implement.
War is what keeps a nation from dying, it is the backbone of a country. This is the shown throughout the course of World War I, also known as “the war to end all wars.” World War I started in the summer of 1914. Archduke Francis Ferdinand, from the Austro – Hungarian Empire was visiting Bosnia. He was shot, along with his wife, Sofia, by a young man from the Black Hand, Gavrillo Princip. What were the three main factors that started World War I? There were three main underlying causes that started World War I: greed, nationalism, and militarism.
...Hungary, did not entirely trust it, so Italy made a secret treaty with France after it joined the Triple Alliance. “A conflict involving any one of the Triple Alliance countries could, by the terms of the treaty, bring in the other two. Rather than acting as a deterrent, the Treaty could be used as a bullying tactic” (BBC.) Therefore, a local conflict could easily become a general war. When the war began, the Triple Entente became known as the Allied Powers and the Triple Alliance became known as the Central Powers. So along with building up a large fighting force, The great European powers were also building up their military strength.
When we think of weapons that the soldiers used in War World I we think of them as defense. But what is sort of ironic is that the same weapons the soldiers used to protect them selves were the same weapons that killed them. "The development of poison gases took on a new urgency during 1914-18." (http://www.firstworldwar.com/weaponry/index.htm) Poison gas was a lethal or incapacitating gas used as a weapon in warfare. It was used extremely between the years of 1914-1918 in order to torture enemies during war. Another major weapon used during the war was the machine gun. "The machine gun was a fairly primitive device when general war began in August 1914." (http://www.firstworldwar.com/weaponry/index.htm) The machine gun is an automatic weapon that fires rapidly and repeatedly without requiring separate squeezes on the trigger each time. This weapon was one of the most affective weapons and murdered the most enemies. These weapons were similar to the weapons that Remarque described in the novel All Quiet on the Western Front.
In 1914, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife from Austro-Hungarian Empire caused an enormous war called World War I, that killed and injured about thirty million lives. It also destroyed the economy later on. World War I changed combat tactics in a whole new way, where people would die in a blink of an eye. Commanders and soldiers did not know about the capabilities of their new arsenals. The new industrialized developed weapons devastated the battlefield with blood, mountain of corpses, and small craters. Some of the weapons that were used were machine guns, poison gas, mortars, and tanks. Soldiers described the battlefield as a nightmare. This was the start of a new era arising through warfare. A very dangerous way to bring great change to the world but was not intended. World War I brought great changes to the world but, considering the countless deaths, it was the worst war ever, an inhumane war.
World War I began in nineteen fourteen and ended in nineteen eighteen. World War I was against the Central Powers and the Allied Powers. The Central Powers were made up of Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, and Ottoman Empire. The Allied Powers were made upp of Belgium, France, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania Russing, Serbia, and the United States. It began when Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary is assassinated by a Black Hand Serbian terrorist group member. The war ended after armistice terms were accepted the central powers demanded by the allied powers (INSERT CITATION).
On 28 July 1914, the war began with the Allies and Central Powers in Europe. The Allied Powers primarily consisted of Britain, France, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and later the US and Italy. The Central Powers consisted of Austria-Hungary, Germany, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria.
World War II was one of the most important wars in history. It featured multiple countries at constant conflict with each other. There were several battles that occurred in this 12 year long war. An example of two of the battles would be the Battle of Britain in the European theater of war, and the Attack on Pearl Harbor in the Pacific theater of war. Only one of these wars saw victory, while the other caused great devastation to the American military.
The main countries which were involved in World War II were Germany, Japan, and Italy, which were known as the Axis Coalition, against the United States, the Soviet Union, and many other countries. Overall World War II was seen as the most devastating war in human history. Each country had different types of weaponry and artillery which proved to be vital in the result of the war (World War 1).
World War One or ‘The First World War’ as it became known, occurred due to many causes including the assassination of the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and ideologies such as nationalism and militarism. The most obvious trigger for the war was the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie on June 28, 1914. The assassination took place during the Archduke’s visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Archduke was targeted due to an ill feeling amongst Serbians that, once appointed to the throne, Ferdinand would continue the persecution of Serbs living within the borders of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Just moments after the couple had been shot; authorities arrested the triggerman, Gavrilo Princip, a Serbian student, who was believed to have been linked to the Serbian terrorist organization, The Black Hand.
World War I was another major turning point in history. This turning point consisted in the way war was fought and how it has changed due to the advances in technology that took place during this time in the 1900’s. War was triggered in the Balkans where the Ottoman Empire had once maintained control. Industrialization and technology had both contributed to the advances in the development of weapons. This devastatingly was the cause of millions of deaths in World War I. War was now fought in trenches and they used machine guns as well as tanks and grenades. There was definitely a turning point in the way war would be fought. However, the most important turning point in the war had to be the involvement of the US. The US tried to remain neutral in the war but ended up joining the Allies. Thanks to the US’s involvement, however, the Allies received the help needed to win the war.
Throughout World War One, the way the war was fought was changing drastically over time. The weapons being used were constantly advancing based on what the soldiers needed to help them defeat the enemy. Each country was trying to outdo the others. Throughout World War One, several new weapons were released to the soldiers such as rifles and machine guns. The weapons manufactured during World War One, such as the rifles and machine guns, forever changed warfare for the worse because these weapons were killing machines and would kill thousands.
This meant that in case they were attacked the other two would come as a defense. They would support each other and you can think or explain it as groups of best friends. Obviously there was a lot more to it than the concept of best friends, but for a visual picture you can explain it like that. The other group of best friends was the Triple Entente. The consisted of Britain, France, and Russia. This was an agreement to do the same as what the Triple Alliance was doing. This created a problem in Europe with an insecure balance of power. Franz Ferdinand was the oldest son of his father Archduke Karl Ludwig. After his father died he was given the thrown to Australia-Hungary just like his father and grandfather. While him and his wife were in their car they were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. This assassination is known as the spark of the war. Nicholas || was the Russian leader. He was in an alliance with Serbia. Once Austria-Hungary announced war on Serbia, Nicholas || waited to mobilize his troops. In the end, he came to their defense. The Central Powers was another group of alliances that were named after the location of the countries in Europe. This alliance consisted of Austria-Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria, and Ottoman Empire. The rival group was the Allied Powers. Britain, France, and Russia were the allies. United States stayed neutral during this but eventually came to the Allied Powers. Wilhelm || was the emperor of Germany and expected to gain victory of World War I fast. In The First Battle of Marne Germany's army attacked France but had to go through Belgium first. Belgians held the German Army while France and Britain had time to get their troops ready. On September 3, 1914 German troops were 25 miles from Paris, so the French troops decided to stop them at the Marne River. In the end, the Germans took away their troops. After this, French armies and German armies kept
Many countries in the western world experienced the industrial revolution. This revolution brought many jobs, opportunities, as well as technology to feed a world war. Technology evened both sides of the war. With the upbringing of heavy artillery such as machine guns, poison gas, land mines, planes able to drop precise bombs, and submarines able to attack from under the water, lessened the hand-to-hand combat time. The war was said to be the Great War, the "war to end all wars.
