Trying To Prove The Existence Of God

Some have argued that trying to prove the existence of God is incompatible with religious faith of the existence of God. What do you think about this?
Yes, this is popular doctrine but I do not believe it is incompatible, I simply think it’s frowned upon and a "should not" situation instead of a "cannot" situation.
Personally, I am of Christian upbringing and in so being, I was raised in the church studying the Bible and drawing from those Biblical teachings. Even in the Bible, the idea that we must not question God is preached (Romans 9:20 is one citing of this teaching in the Bible) and even the final paragraph of the Bible tells the reader to neither add nor take away from the Scripture, meaning that this is a law that is signed, sealed, delivered. …show more content…

Human beings are curious beings always seeking for answers to every unknown. Therefore, the will to want to prove God's existence is simply human nature's natural inclination to prove, that which is unknown. A second reason as to why I disagree with this statement is because even the Bible acknowledges the need for human beings to wonder and inquire about the existence of God, and the Biblical God in fact heeds to this pondering and manifests himself multiple times to prove His own existence (cite the story of Moses and Pharaoh as one example, or the story of Elijah vs the believers of Baal in 1 Kings 18). In both of these scriptures, the biblical God showed evidence of himself upon being called upon to show to the people that He is in fact God. Therefore, if God himself can acknowledge this utmost desire of man to know, why would we then say that trying to prove his existence is INCOMPATIBLE with religious faith?
