Happiness comes in all forms and in a variety of meanings. Everyone can debate their perceptions on what true happiness is. The general idea is that it’s a state of mind where a person is at pleasure with their life or at a certain moment. People argue that the way to true happiness is money or finally getting that job they always dreamt of. They are narrow-minded to not think of something that will mend them happy now, in the moment. If they were to die tomorrow what is in existence today that would make them truly happy? Being content with your life is important to have, it helps a person accept life struggles and find the bright side of situations. For me, true happiness is simply being alive —breathing air is the most amazing experience, and being able to comply with my life. …show more content…
It probably led he or she to fathom his or her purpose in life or what is the meaning of life. Suddenly that falls to questioning deeper thoughts about the universe and end up on an unknown, unclear idea and confusion like in figure 1 to the right. Like in figure 1, next thing you know, your head is down from a headache, because all those thoughts are too much to handle. These questions have no one definite answer, and that can be frustrating since humans demand for one correct distinct answer. However, some responses to questions are by a matter of beliefs and opinions based off personal accounts. Our morals reflect an essential part in what makes a person content. We each come from a different background with standards that spark an ideal meaning of pure contentment. All depends how someone perceives
What is happiness? It’s a very vague question. Different people have a different satisfaction and needs. What each and every one of us wants are so different from one another that you can’t really categorize what exactly a happiness is for a person. In the modern society, American Dream is the pinnacle that everyone is racing to reach too.
Happiness is what a vast majority of people strive for in their lives. Most people may even say the meaning of life is to find true happiness. Scott Mescudi also known as Kid Cudi's song "Pursuit of Happiness" released in 2009 in his "Man on the Moon: The End of Day" album justifies that thought. "Imma do just what I want looking ahead no turning back, if I fall if I die know I lived it to the fullest" (Mescudi) is a popular verse in the song. With questionable lyrics and an obscure message, Kid Cudi introduces components like the illusion of happiness, the idea of "live fast, die young" and the fear that comes with gaining success.
”The greatest misery in adverse fortune is once to have been happy.” The idea that happiness was once attained and lost is a bitter sweet realization for any human who has experienced it. Fortune is acquired but it will be snatched away as quickly as it was bestowed upon one. When Boethius mourns the loss of his own fortune Lady Philosophy tries to reconcile with him. Attempting to “cure” Boethius of his ailments, she tells him that his current predicament is actually an act of good fortune. With Boethius sitting in prison awaiting his execution, it is understandable to see why he would have a tough time accepting it as good fortune. However, Philosophy has a way with words.
You know when you’re watching a movie and you really connect with it, not just with the characters but you really just get the film? Ever wonder what it is that made you fall in love with a film even if the dialogue or cinematography isn’t everything you hoped for? It’s the sound design! Not to discredit any part of the film, The Pursuit of Happyness, because it is a beautiful film, but the sound design is what truly makes this film so great. It fills all the voids that are sometimes experienced in films. It does this by capitalizing on what the untrained ear calls noise. Another way the sound designers of this film really grab the attention of the audience is by creating a fluid way to make you listen to the sounds simultaneously with the images on the screen. In addition, the realistic sounds in conjunction with synthetic sounds complete the film by providing seamless cuts between scenes. The amalgamations of these three aspects are what make the sound design of The Pursuit of Happyness a truly vital part of the film.
Early Modern Europe experienced several tragedies in which the citizens sensed that there must be a better way to live where happiness was more familiar. Alterations for what truly defines absolute happiness in a society during these times of catastrophe were expressed through utopian literature. Thomas More’s Utopia, Tomasso Campanella’s City of the Sun, and Caron De Beaumarchais’ The Marriage of Figaro together attempt to answer what truly creates a happy civilization during different periods of crisis within Europe. Each of these utopian literature’s suggest a different origin that happiness derives from, soundly signifying that change in Europe would be beneficial. The revolutionary ideas of change in Europe proposed by Utopia, City of the Sun, and The Marriage of Figaro through their individual utopias, demonstrated their beliefs that such change of social classes, the expression of pleasures morally, and a more unified government would lead to a happier, less corrupt society.
Happiness is an inner state of well-being and fulfilment, and therefore it has to come from inside. Every individual has his or her own emotions and way of thinking and as a result of this no one can really say what happiness is and what happiness is not. However, universally, happiness is a by-product of a healthy attitude and viewpoint. Happiness exists in everyone whether they choose to acknowledge and believe it or not. It is not rare nor is it something only the elite have: everyone has it but not everyone recognizes it. Contentment is finding a light at the end of every dark tunnel and in order to experience this we must ignore the pessimism surrounding us and remind ourselves that happiness is not a materialistic object but a choice and frame of mind.
IT is increasingly being acknowledged that for true well being and for a fulfilling life, social and economic development should lead to or should be accompanied with happiness or subjective well being. Development theories encompass growth, rise in GDP, socio-economic equity, human development but often ignore deeper issues of subjective fulfilment and happiness. Economists, no doubt, know that wealth alone does not bring happiness yet they have confined themselves to a narrower concept of wealth basically because it can be measured and accounted. Well being including subjective well being is a broader concept. Both Aristotle in the western tradition ages ago and Dalai Lama today in the East, agree that happiness is an end in itself and man

People when they think of happiness, they think about having to good feeling inside. There are many types of happiness, which are expressed in many ways. Happiness is a psychological term that is hard to define since it is particular to each individual. However, we can define it as a psychological sense of life satisfaction, pleasure, and positive emotional condition. For some people, it is difficult to achieve happiness. In contrast, other people can find happiness in the simplest things. However, remember that happiness is in our hands. Just keep seeking it and we will finally be
What does it mean to be happy? Happiness is a sensation that people want to have, and a lot of it. Above all else in the world, it’s what we seek and long for. Though this feeling can be found in many different places and at many different times, it isn’t easy to acquire. For some people, happiness might be found in exercise and sustaining good health. On the other hand, others can discover it when they go on vacation and relax. The idea here is that we each have our own things that make us happy.
Everybody wants to be happy. Parents want their children to have a happy childhood and a happy life, people wish newlyweds a happy married life, and when someone passes on, they say, “S/he had a happy life,” as if that is comforting to those who are already missing the person and who are very unhappy. Why is happiness so important to people? Perhaps it is because humans are competitive by nature and one person exaggerates his/her happiness so that others are envious. Maybe it is because humans like to be distracted by a story and if they can believe someone actually achieves perfect happiness, then they can hold out hope for themselves. What is happiness exactly? No one knows because everyone defines it differently. In general though, happiness is an overall feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. If that is the case, then happiness seems easy enough to achieve, but whether humans are actually capable of realizing they are in the state of happiness though is another issue.
But in this debate, one question still raises its head - What is happiness? Happiness is not actually leading a luxurious life, but the luxury of living a life. Happiness is not actually about expanding your business, but it lies in expanding the horizons of life. Happiness is not having a meal in the most famous restaurant, but having it with your most beloved family. It does not lie in attending honorable parties, but to attend a party with honor.
Happiness is a state of mind. The dictionary definition is "feelings of joy and pleasure mingled together”. A feeling of happiness is more than just an experience of joy or pleasure. It is a state of mind where the individual feels that “life is good”. As Aristotle says, “happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” I believe that everyone wants to be happy in life. One is abnormal if he prefers to be sad and alone.
Happiness is a feeling that cannot be broken if strong enough, no matter how much sadness or hate is around you. Happiness can come from the smallest thing, for instance, music makes me happy and can easily change my mood, or when I am doing something I love my mood is easily changed. For others it could be whenever you do something well, or right and get recognition for it. It is the easiest feeling to be spread and given out but often neglected and forgotten about which is something we should all be more aware
Happiness is a gift of GOD and everybody has the right to live happily and spread happiness among the sufferings. People think that happiness is a controversial topic to discuss, but for me it is the best theme to explore. Some people believe it is the beginning point of greatness, but others take happiness as an end point. I usually draw my happiness from different things. In general, happiness comes from an emotional and mental state of well-being that can be considered through pleasing and positive emotion such as gratification and joy. It does not allow us that we should seek our happiness by all means. I do not agree that people should be selfish in order to get whatever they want. I am not saying that there are no selfish people in this
