In today’s world, kids are awarded trophies and ribbons for simply participating in the event. This can affect the kids in a positive and a negative way. The effects of trophies and achievements on kids are the sense of accomplishment, Happiness in the kids, and also a winning attitude. But it can also spoil kids, give a large overconfident ego boost, and give them a sense of entitlement. Trophies have always been apart of the world. In Greek times, awards and trophies would be handed out to winners of the olympics.The trophies of that time were not the same as today.The trophies of Greek times were, laurel wreaths, amphoras and even money. just the happiness kids get from getting a simple ribbon is amazing.
Parents want nothing more than for kids to be happy and confident with themselves.
Trophies can also have a detrimental effect in kids. If they are handed out too much they will lose their value to kids. Also it can turn kids into spoiled brats. If kids are always winning trophies, How will they ever learn to lose? If kids do not ever learn to lose, they will be crybabies when they do not win because they never learn to cope with losing. This will affect their social life because if they lose around their friends and start crying, they will get endlessly picked on for simply crying over losing. that leads to a lot of other thing also. Too many trophies can also give kids overconfident egos. When a kid is overconfident, he or she will do stupid things because they are confident they can do it. Also if they go into a game overconfident and lose, that will make the loss so much worse. Overconfidence in general is not a good thing. For example, if someone goes into a job interview and acts like they are just the best thing that ever3 happened to planet earth, there is a very good chance that person will not get the job. In
