The play, Trifles by Susan Glaspell, it is set in the Wright house. The play starts when the County Attorney Henderson, Sheriff Peters and Mr. Hale together with their wives; Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters entering the abandoned house of Mr. and Mrs. Wright. Everything in the house was in disarray, unwashed dishes, uncooked food and dirty towels on the table. The two women looked disturbed and seemed hesitant to follow the men inside the house. The Sheriff asked Mr. Hale to retell how discovered the death of Mr. Wright. He told them that he wanted to go see Mr. John Wright join them on a party telephone because he was putting him off when he had asked him before. He found Mr. Wright’s body upstairs with a rope around his neck. They questioned Minnie Wright about who killed her husband but she said that she did not know because she was sleeping when her husband was killed. So, she was taken as the suspect for the murder of her husband. The men went upstairs to figure out what happened and the women stayed in the kitchen to talk and gather the things that Mrs. Wright asked for. While Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale were gathering stuff they end up finding an empty birdcage and the body of the dead bird inside a box that was strangled to death, in the same way that Mr. Wright had died. They suspected Mrs. Wright for killing her husband because he did not let her live a happy life in their home. When the men were finished investigating upstairs the women had also finished gathering the items Mrs. Wright had asked for. Mr. Henderson, the County Attorney, decided to stay for a while and tried to figure out what had happened. On the other hand, Mrs. Peters carefully takes the dead bird and keeps it in her bag so that they will not find it as evidence. She knows the men are looking for some evidence to make the judge conclude that Mrs. Wright had a motive for the death of John
