Developing a long-term strategy and performance metrics are Trautwein’s top priorities. With these objectives in mind, this group focused on four components for further analysis. The internal and external factors that the organization is facing were analyzed, which allowed a definition of WTL’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. John Trautwein’s leadership style was observed, which provided characterizations of his traits and helped to identify his abilities as President of WTL. The foundation’s mission and program initiatives were evaluated in an order to determine their effectiveness. In order to obtain religious, social, political, and equality 23 million Jews immigrated to America during the years between 1880 and 1920 (Chametzky, 5). Anzia Yezierska wrote about her experiences as a poor immigrant in her fictional work becoming a voice of the Jewish people in the1920s. She struggled to obtain an education that allowed her to rise above her family’s poverty and gain a measure of autonomy. Rachel and Sara, the female protagonists, mirror the author’s life going from struggling immigrant to college graduate. Yezierska uses her own experiences to portray the Jewish immigrant experience with a woman’s perspective. She successfully gained a commercial following that allowed her to mediate the cultural differences between the mainstream culture and the Jewish people that helped resolve differences between the established Americans and these new immigrants for a time (Ebes...

“Do I have to go? I mean, it’s not required for me to finish high school or anything. It’s just something you want me to do,” I pleaded with my parents. “Yes you have to go and there’s no way you’re going to get out of it either. It’ll be a good experience for you, and you might even make some new friends,” my father replied. Tomorrow I was going to HOBY, which stands for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar. It is specifically for sophomores in high school and I was chosen to be one of the candidates to represent my school for the year twenty fifteen. There are many HOBYs around the United States, but I was going to HOBY Ohio West located at the Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. The seminar started on June fourth and concluded on the seventh. This was a four day event and I wouldn’t see my family for two of the days. I had just turned sixteen in April and I had never stayed more than an hour away from my family for a night or two. It was very nerve-wracking for me, but I had to go no matter what. Little did I know that this experience would make me into the more confident young woman I am today.

Case 2: Roberts Real Estate In late 2012, Adam Roberts is now the CEO and Managing Director of the Roberts Real Estate Company. The company is a multi-million-dollar property management firm that was founded in Akron, Ohio, in 1920 by Adams grandfather, Jim Roberts. After receiving a call from Adam’s dad, Brian, Adam started wondering about the future of the company; the transfer of power, the estate plan and if his dad would give shares to his daughter Julie and what her role might be, if that happened. Brian’s father, Jim, started a retail shoe business in the 1930s. After disagreements with his brother-in-law, Jim left the business with ownership of one building in West Bend, Indiana.

In addition to spending most of his summer developing our website and social media presence, he has also intensively networked with other nonprofits. Nabeel did this by representing Chess Without Borders at the 2016 United Nations Youth Assembly in New York. Here, he was invited to address hundreds of international delegates on how chess can potentially close the achievement gap in the global school environment. This was an incredibly proud moment for me, but it was also an immense milestone in Nabeel’s journey in public-speaking. After he had delivered an emotional, humorous, and passionate speech, several nonprofits, including Youth for Refugees Advocacy and Barefoot Philippines, reached out to him to see how they could bring chess to their own nation’s communities.
In the United States, approximately one in eight adults are self-employed. In their minds exists a one common dream. This is the entrepreneurial dream of self-employment. It is the freedom to start, grow, and cash in a new business. Most of the extravagant millionaires of today build up their wealth in this way. A career as an entrepreneur is a risky, yet personally rewarding endeavor.
