It all began with a man named Rick who was a treasure hunter. He would travel all over Egypt to find gold and jewels in various historical temples. This time he was in Karnak searching in the Temple of Amun-Ra, the dwelling of the sun god. Rick assembled a selective team to help him on his exhibition. They were in search of the Book of Amun-Ra, also known as the Book of the Living. This book was the opposite of the Book of the Dead, instead of giving those who have died life to continue into the afterlife, the Book of Amun-Ra took life away. The real reason Rick was searching for this book was because it was made out of solid gold.
The team had a systematic way of searching places so the began with the first step. This was to map out the temple so they knew how much ground there was to search. The team was also prudent by finding all the exits to the temple in case of an emergency. After that they set up a base camp in the center of the temple, so that there was a central place for all of them to meet up at. The final step was to begin the search. Rick had the foresight to read the hieroglyphics of the walls to see if there were any hints to where the Book of Amun-Ra was hidden.
Rick noticed on the wall there was a story of a pharaoh, who was very fastidious. He would send armies to conquer the Nile, which was a vital factor of every cities economy. It was used for trade, irrigation, and even drinking water. Whoever controlled the Nile controlled Egypt. There were many battles, and the pharaoh was gaining more and more of the Nile but many soldiers were dieing. Instead of being judicious by bringing his troops home and appreciating the ground he had conquered, he decided to have fight for more. The people didn’t like that at al...

Finally the time came when the curator of the museum brought the whole team up on stage and personally thanked each of them for their more than generous contribution to the museum. There was a big case with a curtain over it, and the curator pulled it off revealing the Book of Amun-Ra. The Book was glowing brightly, and it filled everyone’s eyes with delight. The beauty of the gold was a real treat for the eyes. Rick’s eyes started to water up when he saw his baby daughter starring and smiling at the gleaming book. Seeing his daughter smile for a moment made risking his life and being away from his family all worth it.
The Walking Dead is a television show produced by AMC based off the black and white comic books by Robert Kirkman. The show and comic book center around main character Rick Grimes as he learns to cope with life after waking up from a deadly wound into an outbreak of virus wielding undead creatures known as “walkers.” Over the course of season two and season three, the show starts to center around how Rick is able to command the group of survivors and the challenges they face trying to settle down in a safe area. They are confronted with another community nearby late in season three along with the increasing number of walkers in the area. While facing these challenges, the number of surviving members continues to dwindle; however, the minority ratio in the group remains below the average number of majority characters in the show.
They talk to their dad and he tells them that he worked with a man called Lice Pecking. He says the he also worked on the boat and he could testify on the fact that Dusty really did dump his waste into the ocean. It turns out he is kidnapped and is unable to testify. They meet his wife Shelly. She tells them that she will help them stop Dusty’s Casino scam. She tells him that she wants to work as a bartender in Dusty’s Boat. She tells them that one night she stays late and sees Dusty dumping the waste from the ship. A few days later he goes to a small pond and sees a park ranger putting up signs that say the water in the pond is contaminated from human waste. Since there are many boats docked in the harbors its impossible to see what boat the waste is actually coming from. They then get the idea to color the waste with a very bright dye and allow after us seeps out the trail of brightly colored water will be tracked back to dusty’s boat. They then go into a food store and purchase 35 bottles of Fuchsia dye. They then tell Shelly their plan. They tell her that Noah will hide in a box full of rum and wait till it is picked up and placed on the ship he then will go into a restroom and Shelly will tack on an out of order sign.
On the way home the two boys told the story of the bear and how it was all coved in blood. They all tried to think about what had happened to that
Rick is not a perfect man but a man of integrity, reliability, and sympathy. First of all, he is kind to his employees. Emil, a banker in a gambling game, lets a man win 20,000 francs and asks Rick for some money. Rick is not unhappy and said “mistake like that happen all the time”. Moreover, he helps a young lady get
... try to secure the downtown area, they were quickly overrun by the zombie horde. After hiding in a burned-out tank, Rick is eventually recused by a group of survivors who have been making risky supply runs into the city. When he returns to the group’s camp outside the city limits, he discovers that his wife, son, and best friend are also part of this rag-tag band. After the tearful reunion, the question of what to do next drives the subsequent episodes.
Rick, a former sheriff, is now forced to break rules and laws that he once used to enforce before all hell broke loose. The Strain and Anomie theory, describes why Rick and his fellow survivors must result to a life of deviance. These theories are concerned with the internal and external pressures that drive people to crime and deviance. There are many external pressures within the show such as walkers and other bands of survivors trying to survive just like them. There are no moral institutions present anymore which results in a lack of moral direction. The institutions that once kept them in line are gone so they are now in a full state of normlessness. The only objective now is to survive, therefore, if that means violating social norms and committing acts such as murder and stealing, the characters will do whatever it
After all the challenges Rick faced through this story in the end everything came down to empathy. His feelings toward the androids, the feelings about animals, the feelings of others, and even the feeling towards himself. Any human being no matter who they are has empathy of some sort. What Philip K. Dick was trying to posses in this story is a world without empathy is like Earth in this story, damaged, contaminated, worthless, contagious, and sad. Be true to whom you are, have empathy for others, and reach for your goals.
Was it a gift or a curse? The Nile is the world's longest river at 4,160 miles. Of that total, approximately 660 to 700 miles of the Nile are actually in Egypt. It is one of the four most important river civilizations in the world. Land in Egypt was called Black Land (representing life) and Red Land (representing danger). For Egyptians, the Nile meant the difference between life and death. Today, we know that the Nile influenced ancient Egypt in many areas of life such as providing food, shelter and faith to the people. Specific areas dealing with settlement location, agricultural cycle, jobs, trade, transportation and spiritual beliefs will prove the case.
The character of Rick Grimes is awoken from a coma to find that the world has evolved into the apocalypse. Once awoken Rick is desperate to find his family and protect them from the now disastrous world. Through Rick Grimes character the audience empathizes with the underdog. After seeing his horrific odds I was able to not only empathize but also wonder what I would do if confronted with a similar situation. Throughout the progression of the character Rick Grimes, I witnessed a man begin as an underdog and take on a leadership role. Rick is thrust into the new world and before finding his footing he becomes a natural leader. Although some would disagree on the leadership qualities the character exhibits, I find this character to be crucial to The Walking Dead. The character prevails in many deadly situations often risking his own life to ensure the safety of the group. The show creates an outstanding character that is truly captivating to watch. Each episode provides a powerful dynamic between the struggles Rick faces and his ability to protect
...ased the brakes until coming to a complete stop. Juan and Glenn, knowing where they were going, went to the door leaving the dad alone to get the money. Upon entering the cabin, Juan asked him for the money. He replied quickly that first he needs to see his daughter. The children came out. There was a sudden movement by Glenn which attracted the attention on him long enough for Marianne’s father to pull out the pistol. He pistol whipped Juan and held the gun towards Rita. Rita suddenly started screaming in Spanish asking where Buck was. They told her he was dead and ordered her to put her hands above her head. He handed the gun to Glenn motioning him to stay here and watch the two as he went for the cops and took the others.
...d bringer of justice. The personal human trials that Rick faces render him unable to carry through an even sense of justice “we’re going to hang him” (5). While this hardened judgement enhances his ability to fight and kill evil: threats to his family, it comes at a cost, the cost that ultimately transforms him from an innocent, pure but essentially ‘weak’ hero to an effective, ruthless but flawed hero, in his uncontrollable circumstance.
Roger was a big, tall boy with an attitude. He keeps picking on Rick a short, thin boy. He makes fun of him and making them feel bad every single day. Until Rick didn’t go to school for a week. Teachers got worried.
Rick is one of the main characters shown in the Walking Dead. Rick is an individual who is typically calm. He shows a side of his knowledge and how it pertains to survival, along with the nature of being a good friend. On the other hand, he has created stress within the group due to the morals that he possesses. However one of Rick’s greatest faults may be is his intuition to place
One message the show sends to its viewer’s is survival; one must do anything they can to survive but while trying to survive one can also offer help to others who are trying to do the same. In several scenes Rick and the group are seen hunting animals, and entering abandoned houses to find supplies-- medicine, food and guns. The actions the characters take by entering abandoned homes and hunting animals indicate that since there are nearly no stores close by to grab food or medicine, they must now hunt and find their own medicine . Another example of how this show sends a message of survival is when Rick, Michonne, black young women carrying a katana, and Carl, Rick's son, set out to find food for Judith, R...
Throughout six seasons of AMC’s ongoing hit show The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes, the main protagonist, has grown from: a tough guy police officer with a soft heart for helping others (almost always coming with a great personal risk) to the ultimate leader and survivor. Rick’s character arc during the first five seasons of the show, were about the ongoing growth/development of Rick, along with little benchmarks along the way in the form of gruesome but necessary murder. During Rick’s character arc, he goes through three major phases that reflect his morals and view of the world. These changes are then highlighted by the various brutal gory kills Rick has achieved. We as viewers get an in depth look at this gradual evolution as he fights to survive
