Travis Tritt
Travis Tritt was born on February 9, 1963 to Georgia and James Tritt. Travis fell in love with music as a young boy. By the age of eight he had already taught himself how to play the guitar and by the age of 14 he was beginning to write his own songs. When Travis was younger his parents did not want him to follow his instincts; his mother wanted him to sing in the church, but he wanted to sing and write country music.
Travis worked various jobs after he was 18, but he still wanted to play music. At one time he was working for an air-conditioning company and the company?s vice president was a guitarist who gave up music and he urged Travis to follow his dreams. So, Travis quit and began pursuing a music career full-time.
In 1982, Travis began recording demos; one was for a promotion man, who was also an executive at Warner Brothers. For the next few years he produced demos and played the ?Honky Tonk? Circuit. In 1989 Warner Brothers signed Tritt and his first album, County Club, came out in stores in the spring of 1990. His first single, Country Club, went top ten in 1989. After his first album he was know as a country singer, with a little mix of rock. Even though country music did not completely embrace Travis, his second album, It?s All About To Change, went multi-platinum, thanks to his new manager Ken Kragen, who made his music appeal to both country fans and many others. Travis? third album T-R-O-U-B-L-E, did not match the success of his second album, but it still had a number one single on it. Then in 1994, his fourth album, Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof, went platinum. The in 1995, his greatest hits album, went platinum within the first six months of its release. On his next album, The Restless Kind, Tritt decided not to use long-time producer Gregg Brown, instead sharing production duties himself with master producer Don Was and the two opted to go for a more traditional country sound, getting back to Tritt's musical roots.
Travis then wrote five songs on his next album No More Looking Over My Shoulder.
Born on December 1, 1977 in Miami, FL, Bryan's first musical influence was his mother, Pamela Cox, an instrumentalist who played the flute. It was her love and passion for the art that gave him his first taste of the music scene. "My mother would buy music instead of food when I was little. We would spend her entire paycheck at the record store." (Cox, 2008) At the age of seven, Bryan unveiled to his mother his musical aspirations and she began to prepare him for an eventual life and career in the field of music. She later moved the two of them to Houston, TX where she enrolled Bryan into the High School for the Performing Arts. While in his senior year, Bryan met then Freshman, Beyoncé Knowles, and young and talented girl who would later grow up to be worldwide megastar. It is with Beyoncé that Bryan created his first demo tape and with a budding nod of approval from Beyoncé's father, Matthew Knowles, Bryan set out on his musical path.
As a co-writer and producer, Brown has worked to develop many of the artists we have come to know today. Performers such as, Rick Barry, Status Green, Corey Wagar, Jerzy Jung, Natalie Stovall, Alex Brumel, and Andrew Holtz have all come to know his commitment to songwriting quite well, with some gaining major momentum because of it. His long career has seen him go thru several major label recording deals and at least three distinct publishing deals. He has achieved song placements in TV and film, and working with great producers and mentors like Danny Kortchmar (Don Henley, James Taylor, Rod Stewart), Peter Collins (Jewel, Rush, Indigo Girls), Monty Powell (Keith Urban, Lady A, Diamond Rio) and others that he’s no doubt picked up a few tricks from over the years.
On the other hand, Luke Bryan had a pretty great life growing up as a child. Thomas Luther Bryan was born on July 17, 1976 (Student Resources). Everyone calls him Luke because that’s what he has preferred since he was a little boy. Luke was into country music ever since he was born. Tons of memories he made with his family, like sitting in a truck singing country music at the top of their lungs. As he grew up and got older he started to play in front of people and start...

We have all read interesting, touching stories in our lifetime. I have read a few, myself. The one that really sticks out in my mind is, The Unquiet Death of Robert Harris by Michael Kroll. This story left me filled with emotions, opinions, and questions.

Billy Joel was born on May 9, 1949 in Bronx, New York. He moved at the age of four to a small town on Long Island. This is where at the ripe age of four he discovered the art of music. Originally a classical music fan, Billy Joel honed his skills with classical piano training. This undoubtedly has had a major influence on his life and certainly his music. Growing up Joel was a big fan of such greats as Ray Charles, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Otis Reading. He was greatly persuaded into a career of music when he saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. Amusingly Joel's first band was inspired by the uncanny opportunity to meet girls. The band was called The Echoes, but this was not the best of times for Joel because his parents were involved in a messy divorce, which included serious financial shortcomings. Joel even began working professional music gigs at night to help support his mother. Joel's schoolwork suffered a little and he began missing school way too often. He was subsequently not allowed to graduate with his high school class due to the number of absences. After high school Joel immediately joined a very popular band called The Hassels for which he recorded two albums with. Within two years Joel was on to a new band which he named Attila, and featured heavy metal drummer Jon Small who he played with during his time with The Hassels. Despite the previous release of two albums Joel still needed to bring in more money so he worked many music related jobs and gigs. He even wrote a rock and roll criticism piece in a weekly column for a magazine.
Once the fighting is over, the camera calms down and follows Travis as he pulls the trigger of the gun bellow his chin. His calm attempt at suicide is reflected by the stagnate camera and both act in interesting disparity from the thrilling action scene just seconds ago. It’s almost as if without that intense violence, Travis reverts back into is dispassionate self, resting on the bed, seemingly waiting to

In the script, there are multiple scenes when Travis is alone in his apartment. These scenes really set off the hysterical side of the character. When he cannot sleep, that he keeps on writing diary and talking to himself, these trivia disclose the frantic Travis Bickle to the audience in contrast to the gentle and the placid look of his appearance, and they add on to the depth of the characteristics of him. In here, Taxi Driver takes out what is a classic Film-noir element from those Hollywood crime dramas, and adds more of a modern individual consciousness to the old-school cynical attitudes. One of the conventions in a Film-noir picture is that the mind of the doomed protagonist is constantly shifting between what is morally right, and what is morally wrong.
In 2004, he responded to a high school’s public campaign to have him play their prom by… showing up to their prom. He played a short, three song set for the students.
