Imagine being trapped somewhere and not being able to get out. On the verge of dyeing or being killed and barreling getting out alive. That how Aron Ralston, Hyeonseo Lee, and Thomas had to go through. In “Trapped” by Aron Ralston, Aron was trapped in a canyon because he got him arm caught in between a massive bolder and the wall of the canyon. Hyeonseo Lee from “Ted Talk: My Escape From North Korea” By Hyeonseo Lee, was trying to help her family escape from North Korea and get to South Korea, and her family went through many obstacles to get there. In The Maze Runner, Thomas ran back into the maze at the last second to go to try and save the others that never came back. He was stuck in the maze overnight and when the maze doors close this massive robotic big comes out attacks everyone that didn’t make it out of the maze in time. The robot bug was chasing after Thomas and instead of trying to out run the bug, her goes around the corner and hides under the bush that is growing on the maze wall. Thomas was smart and had good instincts and survival skills of hiding in the bush instead of running. If he had running, the bug would have eventually caught up with him and killed him. But because of this he is the only person that has ever survived a night in the maze and came out alive. Another example of good instincts and survival skills was when the bug is chasing Thomas, he leads it over to the closing maze door. When Thomas is running through the whole, the closing maze door crushes the big. Thomas knew that he wouldn’t be able to out run the big so he leads the bug over to the door so he can get out untouched and he would be able to kill the big. He uses his survival skills to stay alive and to kill the bug that has been killing the others in his group. Thomas’s survival skills and good instincts is what helped Thomas stay alive and safely get out of the
In The Maze Runner, Thomas recalls nothing of his life except for his name. He finds himself surrounded by a bunch of boys. Like all the other Gladers, Thomas appears in the Glade terrified and disoriented. However, he senses a powerful bond to the Maze. First, he looked at the drawn maps of the maze and it didn't take him long to figure out how to solve the maze and how to do it. “We need wax paper and scissors”(from chapter 15) is what Thomas said to his friends, as if he didn't want to loose this sudden train of thought . Another example of Thomas's unknown intellect was when he intentionally threw himself into a griever to go threw the changing to get some of his memorise to see if he would remember anything that would be helpful for him and his friends. This all proves that Thomas knew what he was doing and how to do

“When you are down in life, your friends get to know who you are. When you're up in life you get to know who your friends are.” -Anonymous. From the novel “Freak the Mighty”, the narrator informs us that Max and Kevin demonstrate a strong friendship. All in all, they were there for each other in the good times and the bad. So in conclusion, good friendship includes teamwork, trust, and having adventures.
The play “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry has many interesting characters. In my opinion, the most fascinating character is Ruth because of her many emotions and captivating personality. She goes through extreme emotions in the play such as happiness, sadness, anger, stress, and confusion. Ruth is very independent, firm, kind, witty, and loving.
Survival, a life or death situation, one wrong move and you could die. It’s hard to remain calm in these situations, but some can do it. Lee had to escape from North Korea, Ralston was trapped alone under a rock, and Rainsford was being hunted alive, they survived from three things. It took Lee’s courage, Ralston’s Endurance, and Rainsford’s Intelligence to show they were survivors.
Much work goes into musical , as was the case in “Catch Me If You Can”,which La Joya Middle School drama had the pleasure of watching on January 15, put on by El Diamante High School. The musical was directed by John Sorber and Michael Tackett. This amazing production included many talented actors such as Maverik Dakota Raven starring as Frank Abagnale Jr., Kiley Hoffman playing Brenda Strong, and Jonathan Johns as Carl Hanratty. This incredible play carried a strong lesson. As was seen the protagonist ran from his problems and pretended to be someone who he wasn't. The plot of this story showed us that we can't run from our problems, for that only worsens the situation and is a snowball for our problems.

“Bad things do happen in the world, like war, natural disasters, disease. But out of those situations always arise stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” Robinson Crusoe changes vastly, from a stubborn man to a prideful but knowledgeable one. While he accomplishes his journey of self-discovery, these are achieved by the several apparent forces. In the novel Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, the forces fear, natural disasters, and religion change Robinson Crusoe significantly.
